It depends on the instrument as well. My 1987 Warwick is almost perfect whereas a Fender of the same age would look as if someone had dug a garden up with it.

I would imagine it'll have a transformer doing a step up for the main power (which will be rectified) and a step down for the heater power (which IIRC isn't).

The polite alternative to "two girls one cup".

A level of music theory I wish I possessed

I thoroughly enjoy David Bennett's videos - not just about chord progressions but also about time signatures. -
Don't knock it, I based an entire career on it.

Er, yes. That was the point.

There will be an IP address on a screen which will be something like 218.576.326.113.

Auto generation of tags in basses for sale section?
tauzero replied to tauzero's question in Site Issues and Questions
If it has "Number of strings" and a drop-down with the numbers 4-7 and "Other", and a "Fretted?" with yes and no radio buttons, and "Headed?" with yes and no buttons, it should be fairly simple to fill in. HTML allows all those. Would you want to buy a bass from someone who couldn't manage to fill that in properly? -
As it says "Output 12V ~", that's AC. It would be something like "Output 12V ......" if it was DC, and as @neepheid says, would show the polarity of the connector.

I'm not missing the point. Reverb do need to take better precautions against fraud as they're not doing it terribly well at the moment, but any notion of IP address banning is ridiculous, and your statement about not being difficult to ascertain whether an IP address corresponds with VPN, internet cafe, etc is woefully far of the mark. Your other suggestion of checking for email addresses is better. The entire transaction needs to be done within the aegis of Reverb (which needs to be watertight) with T&Cs making clear that if it isn't, you're on your own.

As well as the MS-50G+, there's the MS-70CDR+ coming sooner which has effects but no amp sims, so it depends what you want.

Auto generation of tags in basses for sale section?
tauzero replied to tauzero's question in Site Issues and Questions
What I'm thinking of is when selling a bass, there's a form that gives options for number of strings, fretted/fretless, headed/headless, and a tag in a standard format is generated for each where there's an option selected. -
Don't you understand the issue? If you ban an IP address then anyone using that address is blocked. Non-fixed IP addresses are allocated as and when, so a totally innocent person could be IP banned. Same for VPNs, and company IP addresses - ban the VPN or the company IP address and that's a lot of innocent people banned. So it's a stupid idea.
-
IP banning a non-fixed IP address or a VPN would be wildly inappropriate.

TBH, I didn't get that far into the video. I just watched enough to see what his gripe was. The MS-50G has over 20 amp sims so it does seem reasonable to think that the G+ would have some too. As @LukeFRC says, there will be an IR pedal (MS-80IR+) which means Zoom will be able to sell twice as many pedals to those who want amp sims as well as effects, although if the aftermarket utility that allows you to move effects to pedals that they weren't originally intended for can be made to work on the Plus range, that can be overcome.

Auto generation of tags in basses for sale section?
tauzero posted a question in Site Issues and Questions
Searching the basses for sale section for categories of bass is a rather hit and miss affair. Tags are very rarely used and inconsistent in format when they are used. I wondered if it would be possible to auto-generate tags for general categories by having options when listing a bass, eg. number of strings, fretted/fretless, headed/headless, with "Other" options available for oddities like the Ibanez Ashula or double necks. -

There was another YT video where someone asked what the point of the MS-50G+ was - the issue being that it doesn't have any amp sims in it. Preamp sims, yes, but not amp/cab sims.

I'm not convinced that most people don't like the MK1s. The BH2s don't seem to fare as well but are there really vast numbers of people who don't buy an EHB 100 series because of the pickups, or rush to replace them?

Yes. Don't forget he'll be converting from proper measurements to groats and furlongs, and he might have borrowed the Bass Direct conversion calculator. It's an 864mm scale.

With both Cort and Ibanez bringing out headless models (or ranges in the case of Ibanez), they've presumably seen that there is a good commercial opportunity. I think Mark was shifting a fair few Corts at Bass Direct from what he said. Steinberger has kept going with the Spirit range. Headless instruments are better ecologically, as they use less wood - none wasted on an advertising billboard at the end of the neck.
