  1. Seems like a bad move. Immensely frustrating. Nux Mighty Plug - plug in, switch on, play songs on phone and play along to them. Katana Go - plug in, switch on, try to pair Bluetooth via the app, apparently it works, try playing music on phone with the same player app as I use with the Nux, music comes through phone speakers. Adding songs one by one to the session list in the BTS app, try playing them after going through the Bluetooth connection rigmarole on the app and the device, and they play through the phone speakers. Unusable. Not surprised it's been discontinued, should never have been sold in the first place. The Nux Mighty Plug might have inferior sound quality but it's infinitely superior in usability.
  2. That's the one that I have, that has the problem with the 20V or so on the 5V line. It's not a problem with all of them AIUI, I just happen to have one of the dodgy ones.
  3. Something to be aware of when setting up an Octoprint server (or anything connecting to the USB port) is that some motherboards on some Creality 3D printers put about 20V onto the 5V line. You need to check this before connecting anything, and if it's the case, modify a USB lead by cutting the 5V line before using it to connect.
  4. Tech Soundsystem ND410S. But that would depend on your definition of "cheap", it would be more than £50. Tech speakers turn up on BC now and again. There's an Ashdown 4x10 on Ebay at the moment, £75 start, £140 BIN, with a 300W Behringer head. IIRC they're lighter than the depleted-uranium lined Trace Elliot cabs.
  5. A Rotosound string?
  6. No, red wire to centre lug of tone pot. Connecting it to the sleeve of the output jack will result in no output.
  7. Probably OK as long as you're not in the room with it.
  8. That's impressively rapid.
  9. The copper tape looks good - you might be able to improve on it a little by using wider tape so there isn't a seam and maybe using some sort of small roller to make it absolutely flat (possibly, not sure if that would work), but that's pure nit-picking.
  10. But with three question marks, doesn't that stray into Pratchett's punctuation theory area? “And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five? A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head.”
  11. 9.5kg so slips in under my personal 10kg per item limit - not that I'll be buying one.
  12. "Currently there are 23 peoples are currently looking at this product". Currently.
  13. I hope that the people who are buying stuff have used credit cards.
  14. Sounds rather suspect to me, especially as most active basses have passive pickups (BRX is going to pop up any second to say that there's no such thing as an active pickup). My Thumbs have active pickups (EMG and MEC, defining an active pickup as one that contains a preamp within the pickup body) and neither cause problems with any of my wirelessesses.
  15. That piqued my curiosity enough to actually look at it. He might be a guitarist, he's not a web designer.
  16. Do a similar thing to a Jazz bass - cut out a piece of thin stainless sheet that will cover the control cavity, then cut away the portion of scratchplate that it overlaps. As long as your laser cutter is up to the job...
  17. Bandmix attracts a lot of imbeciles who tick every box, so if I look for a band that's seeking a bass guitarist, 80% of them are also apparently seeking accordion, acoustic guitar, background singer, bagpipes,..., vocalist (tenor). JMB isn't great to search on - I want to look for bands up to 40 miles away, which means Staffs, Warks, Derbys, West Mids, Notts, Leics at least. At least Bandmix lets you effectively stick in a pin and draw a circle, although its interpretation of "distance" appears entirely random after that (no, London is not within 50km or whatever it is).
  18. Manual for a Trace Elliot Elf
  19. You can get locking straps - Planet Waves makes a range, eg https://www.gak.co.uk/en/planet-waves-planet-lock-guitar-strap/100769.
  20. Have you connected it directly to the laptop rather than via a hub?
  21. A piece of 12mm plywood, maybe with some stick-on feet on it?
  22. Adjusting the truss rod: generally (and this is not universal), you turn the adjuster clockwise to tighten the truss rod and decrease the bow in the neck, and anticlockwise to loosen it and increase the bow in the neck. When loosening it, you don't need to loosen the strings. When tightening it, you can loosen the strings or push back on the headstock to decrease the bow while tightening it. The commonest truss rod adjuster is probably a 4mm allen key. A capo is also very useful - put the capo on the first fret, then hold the strings down at the top fret and see what clearance you have to frets halfway between the two. Some people like a lot of relief, others like very little - find out what suits you, sort out a way of measuring it, then you can reproduce it on other instruments or after changing string gauges or when the weather changes and the neck shifts a bit.
  23. I don't know what you're moaning about, he/she had the courtesy to reply and to say thanks. That's a pretty good result, and they're not intending to waste your time either.
