I don't see why using a WL-20L would buzz with an active bass - the cable tone simulation seems unlikely. Did you try it with more than one active bass? And did you try a WL-20L with the active bass?

I put the parameters in myself, got a whinge (well, several whinges) about inconsistency. If anyone would like to try them and check if there's anything obvious wrong, they're attached. They seem to produce a reasonable curve with the cab given as 10.5l and tuned to somewhere round 90Hz (92 seems quite good). Faital 6FE200.wdr

Running back over this thread, I forgot to say at the time that I normally use an MS-60B with low bass rolled off in an EQ section but I'd just unplugged it and plugged their bass in. That's another thing to remember for the future.

The Faital is a tenner cheaper than the Fane too. I'm tempted to get one and knock up another cab, and do a better job of it than the first one.

If you have an X-Air mixer with enough Aux outs for every member of the band using IEMs, they can all control their own monitor mixes, so they're in the same universe as each other but with differing mixes.

I'm quite tempted, my Gorilla stands are fine but weigh in at about 11kg and I keep my mic stand in the same bag so it's over my 10kg per item limit. And it's a more packing/unpacking friendly bag than my current one.

A question for the court. With the intention of building a 3-band preamp for one of my basses, I bought the components and PCB last year. The PCB (actually a batch of 3) was from OSH Park, and it was marked as dispatched on December 3rd with a quoted typical delivery time of 21 days. However, there's been no sign of it and the tracking says that the postal service is still waiting for it. If it doesn't arrive in a couple of weeks, would reordering the PCB be permissible?

That is rather the point, fellow MENSA member. Basses with headstocks are naturally inclined to have shit balance. Reducing the weight at the headstock reduces the tendency to neck-dive.

I now have a Behringer P2 and somewhere I also have a Lekato MS-1. I'd like to have a play with wireless IEMs. No problem driving them (I have an XR-18 which is currently driving two monitors so there's a further four AUX outs). However, the XR-18 is currently only getting the vocals. No problem also sticking the bass through one channel and routing it to AUX only, but relying on vocal mic spill for the two guitars and drums doesn't seem ideal. I have quite enough to do with the vocals, buggered if I'm putting mics on the drums and guitars too, but I wondered if an ambient mic sent just to the AUX would work, and what would be a good mic to use costing less than £40. Any suggestions?

I tried out a selection a few years ago, although I was aiming at low budget I tried out a few up to £500. I finished up with a Crafter electro-acoustic dreadnought with cutaway which cost £175, it was superior to the more expensive instruments.

I prefer unlined - currently have four fretlesses, one lined, two unlined, one defret which doesn't have visible lines. Had to have the dots moved on the lined one so they're on the lines, I think I'll either just have to cope with the defret as it is or do what my Ibanez SRF705 has, teeny little fret markers on the edge of the fretboard. Incidentally, I have occasionally played a bass which was a fretless but was then fretted and the dots at the fret positions are really confusing, silly as it may seem.

I'd just leave it in BEADG and play the notes as written. Thus you have consistent patterns up, down, and across.
