The chorus to Fuzzbox's "International Rescue" - why were they singing about an international ice cream cornet?

It might fit into a Stagg case if there's one deep enough. https://staggmusic.com/en/products/guitars-and-basses/accessories/pedal-boards/

Not all dimmer switches are made to control LEDs, and not all LED bulbs can be controlled by dimmer switches. Plus (critically for audio) they can generate a lot of electrical noise. They work by cutting out part of the duty cycle from the mains waveform, so a leading edge dimmer doesn't let the first part of each half-cycle through, a trailing edge dimmer doesn't let the last part through. What proportion is let through determines the brightness of the light.

Depends if you're ever likely to get a narrower cab. If so, keep the Streamliner to save amp overhang. Otherwise keep the Reidmar. Full disclosure - I've never played through a Streamliner and only played through a Reidmar as part of a very hi-fi rig, which isn't exactly what you're looking for. Perhaps you should sell them both and get a Tecamp Puma 900.

Is there something unusual about the way the pickups are mounted? The Munson bespoke basses visible on their website have bog-standard J-type pickups in recesses.

Or there's the Variax bass, here emulating a Kay upright:

An odd little bass quest, and opinions needed from BC
tauzero replied to TRBboy's topic in Bass Guitars
Take it back to bare wood first and see if it would look good natural. It's not unlike a bass version of some of the Gordon Smith range of guitars. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=gordon+smith+guitar&atb=v391-1&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images- 44 replies

So for Oasis it was Lennon and McCartney?

I actually traded the B2 (and a P) in order to buy a Warwick Thumb which I still have. I don't remember having the same issues with the Thumb, although that could have been because by then I'd got used to the B2.

I bought a similar set. I only wanted to use the 0.5 degree one and I thought there was a taper on it. I've got the 0.25 and 1 degree ones here - just checked them with digital calipers and they're flat, so maybe I was wrong about the 0.5. Oh well, take the 1 degree shim, stick it to something flat with some double sided tape, and sand it down at an angle - DIY shim.

That tuning is reminiscent of guitar tuning but with the 3rd interval between the adjacent pair of strings. Tune the E to F and you've got guitar a tone down.

Lined fretless boards also have dot markers where fretted markers would be.

Flat battery in the scales so can't weigh it just yet. The only weight I've been able to find given (for a 1265MS) is 3.7kg. It's always difficult to describe sounds in words but I would say there's a bit more clarity to the Aguilars than the Barts, while the Nords are more aggressive than either.

Congratulations. But - does it mean slap?

You could follow @Richard R's example and join the 2023 challenge.

Mott the Hoople - All the young dudes. Ever since it came out, I've thought the first line was "Gonna write on home about a suicide". No, it's "Well, Billy rapped all night about his suicide".

Catches of the case towards me, hinges away from me. All velcroed down so no pressure is applied to anything.

I've got an EHB1265MS (essentially a halfway house between 1005 and 1505) with replacement Aguilar pickups in, and build quality seems fine. There does appear to be some variation there though, others have reported some issues. Note: a few people have recommended moving the rear strap button so it balances better, and a previous owner has done that to mine. Low End Lobster compared an EHB with the Barts in with the EHB1505, and also did a pickup replacement, putting Aguilars in to replace the Barts. I bought my first Hohner B2 in the mid-80s, and initially had a problem putting my hand on the right place on the neck - I attributed this to the visual cue of the headstock which I was used to. I got used to it though. That went in 1988, and it was many years before I got another headless. However, when I did, I had no problem with hand placement. I later bought another Hohner B2AV to use as a spare. I hardly ever played it, but I took it out to an open mic night a few weeks ago and had exactly the same problem with hand positioning as I had first time round. Seeing as I play headless basses almost all the time now, my conclusion is that it's the way that it hangs due to the absence of a top horn that does it, not the headlessness.

Do you mean getting a sound which is a mixture of the two you describe out of one instrument? Or do you mean you'd use the DB for the DB sound and the EB for the electric sound? If the former, you could try a fretless with a piezo bridge as well as magnetic pickups, eg Ibanez SRF700, roundwound strings, and a reverb effects pedal to add some quite short reverb to give the DB feel to it.

I keep toying with the idea of a covers band doing rocked up songs from musicals.

Playing all the instruments myself - song suggestion

After the Goldrush by Neil Young, with added bass and using the ukulele or a very fuzzy bass for the horn solo in the middle. -
I thought they were guitarists.

Do you think @GHfingerblast qualifies for either of those?

U OK hun? Edit: Bugger, hadn't spotted @neepheid's post.
