It's about 34l, basically the largest I can squeeze out of a single 610 x 1220 sheet of ply (and with the not-very-accurate B&Q cutting). I've cut the various orifices in the panels but have yet to assemble them, I'll be pushing the front baffle slightly further forward to increase the volume a little. Would tuning to 55Hz be better than 50Hz from the point of view of improving bass response?

Interesting cheapo headless on evilbay

Already flagged up, though. -
Just been listening to "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac for an open mic next week. "When the rain wash shares you'll clean your nose" is actually "When the rain washes you clean, you'll know".

I have a Lekato padded strap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334402284873 Adjustable at both ends so you can position the pad just where you want it, and it's easy adjustment too. There's enough room inside the stitching around the strap button to punch out a 10mm hole for Schaller straplocks. And you can probably afford to buy four for the price of most of the other suggestions.

The headstock is even more horrible than headstocks normally are, and it would be dreadfully neck-divey and probably impossible to play seated. I do like the paint job though.

Ebay - one on for £675 OBO.

Effect to plug into synth to boost signal
tauzero replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Effects
Sounds like you need to raise the bass output to line level. If you've got an effects loop on your amp, you could try using the Send output from that instead of going direct from the bass. -
Overpriced by at least £1000.

I thought my logic for track naming was impeccable. There's the Monza (fastest F1 circuit), Monaco (slowest F1 circuit), and Silverstone (oldest F1 circuit), so logically it should be the newest F1 circuit. Although that's Las Vegas, it's a temporary circuit, as is Miami, so it's Losail or Jeddah, or if they're excluded for human rights reasons [1], Algarve. [1] Separate head is a good idea for an amp, a bad idea for a human.

We all suggest songs, there's generally either a degree of enthusiasm or not. Songs that get a reception of lukewarm upwards will probably get a run through and if we think it'll work, it gets properly rehearsed. In a previous band, we had a spreadsheet of suggestions. Each of us had a vote - want to do it, don't like it, indifferent. There were enough suggestions that if anyone didn't like a song, we didn't try it. Mrs Zero was the vocalist and vetoed the most, but she vetoed seven out of almost 100 suggestions so it wasn't as if she was knocking down most suggestions.

Definitely an improvement on the black finish with stars. That should look really good with some darker stain on it.

Effect to plug into synth to boost signal

Might this apply? https://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?t=29170 -
Gigbags for me, I just make sure that the basses go on top of everything else.

It's got autolevelling which helps quite a bit. And there's a few of those huge ones on FB Marketplace for rather less than £8k: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/109126125773465/search/?query=creality CR 10 S5

My bass doesn't go through the PA and we don't play venues where it's likely to, and any messing around with tone can be done in whichever multifx I'm using, or the amp, so an outboard preamp is completely unnecessary for me.
-
After watching the first runthrough on that preamp video (admittedly using laptop speakers), I can't think of any reason at all that I would want a preamp.

They're for my peace of mind and to help compensate for my innate clumsiness.

You're not very good with English, are you? Try checking a dictionary out.

Sine Effects HPF and LPF pedals (and EQ stuff too)
tauzero replied to fretmeister's topic in Effects
Conversely, compressors in particular would compress the audible signal in response to a subsonic peak. I think it's one of those "whatever works for you" things with no right answer but something to be said for either approach. -
To do the joints as per the easy build cab, and also to do a bit of bracing.
-
Because Juan Sheet is plenty. This has come about because I happened to have a Deltalite II 2510 knocking about, and fancied building a tweeterless cab a bit smaller than the BC 112 mk3. I also had lots of 68mm pipe left over from the 6" micro cab build. So I worked out a way of getting a 35l or so cab out of one 1220x610 sheet of 12mm ply. Sides are 445 x 305, front and rear panels are also 445 x 305 with the front panel set back 20mm from flush, top and bottom are 330 x 305, all of which dimensions are subject to a bit of tweaking as there's going to be a bit of surplus round the edges due in part to the accuracy of the B&Q saw. Not much to show so far, I'll be making holes tomorrow if the weather permits me to go into the shed without drowning.
-
Well, that's the plywood and batten bought for the Plenty cab (because Juan Sheet is plenty). I wish I'd known exactly how inaccurate the B&Q saws were, I'd have risked cutting it up myself. Still, it's within a couple of minutes with a belt sander of being spot on. Next stage - holes.

Unnecessary to wrap certain pickups in copper tape?
tauzero replied to max_overdrive's topic in Repairs and Technical
The main source of interference isn't the pickups themselves, it's the big bag of dirty water that the bass is hanging from. A shielding layer protecting the pickups from the human will help.
