I contacted them through the contact page to ask about pxing a Corvette for the Pedulla, Will responded and we emailed each other a couple of times about the Corvette and to arrange a visit. That's been my only contact with them so I can only say that they've responded to my emails either the same or the next day.

I went to see Gary Glitter a couple of times when he was coming back from obscurity before all the sex stuff came out, and I've still got his first LP. I can't retrospectively not enjoy his performances, can I?

Oh, and I got quite a few people saying how nice it sounded this evening after my session with Mrs Zero ("Wicked Game" and "Let's Dance" as you've never heard them before) and backing someone else for a couple of songs. Put through a Zoom MS-60B with compressor, chorus, reverb, and SVT amp sim. Just want to get the relief sorted so the action will come down a little more.

I just get the individual ones in packs of 20 or so. Seeing as they fasten to the lead, I can't see the problem with using them. I find them less fiddly than the ones which stick out each side of the lead.

I've had the same thing as @Newfoundfreedom - feeling that I'm observing and giving instructions from inside myself, and also being aware of this, and wondering if I can get back to "normal". It didn't impair me the few times it's happened (which always seem to be when I'm driving) which was something I worried about when it did happen.

I blame @TheGreek, he keeps mentioning basses in the Ebay - weird and wonderful section and I keep buying them. This Pedulla Series 2 was at Bass Bros, 40 miles from me, so I went down there and had a play, and then went home with it. This is a non-Buzz fretless - bolt-on neck, Bartolini pickups, natural finish (which appears to be rare for the Series 2), birdseye maple fingerboard that someone has put little marks at the edge of with a bluntie (like a sharpie but not as precise) between the official fret markers. Not terribly visible, I may see if a spot of IPA [1] will remove them. Controls are volume-blend-tone, and it is active - I think the active aspect is more for a buffer than for tone controlling as the tone control seems to be treble cut and boost. The neck is nice and shallow, the way I like them. I have encountered one minor annoyance. There's a little more relief in the neck than I'd like, so off with the truss rod cover and - WTF? Instead of the hex head I was expecting to accommodate one of my vast selection of Allen keys, it's a square head like a harp or piano tuning peg or a central heating radiator bleed screw. Not having anything to fit, I'm chancing my arm on https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314738850431. At least in trying to find out about this, I have also discovered that the truss rod is reversed (something I'm well used to, with old Warwicks and Seis) and very enthusiastic, so a little adjustment goes a long way. I shall doubtless find all this out in the fullness of time. I've put Schaller strap buttons on it, as is my wont. An inspection of the battery showed it was dated 2016, so it came out and a new one went in. The pickups were adjusted a bit oddly - the treble side on the bridge pickup was rather low and the neck pickup was very low. I had to ease the neck pickup out to adjust it as the "springs" are rubber doughnuts and a bit of one had slipped up between pickup and the rear of the recess, jamming it in place. I assume that this is pickup mounting tubing like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174301475762 so that's something else to get. The height adjustment screws on the bridge are a bit rusty, as are a couple of the rear panel screws, so I may replace those, but that's not a priority. Mrs Zero and I are going to do an open mic tonight with just bass and vocals, and I'm taking this along. Should be fun. [1] Not India Pale Ale

I'm going to start billing @TheGreek - it's a jolly nice bass, nicer than the Corvette fretless that I pxed for it. It was at Bass Bros, about 40 miles away from me so a nice little trip out.

They're the same Zoom devices as are shown in Youtube videos responding to MIDI commands, set up the same way. See the video up above showing an MS-70CDR being used - I've tried an MS-70CDR and an MS-60B. I've also tried the other part of the MS-1, the twin DIN plugs, in a Roland XV-2020 - the light flashed showing that MIDI data had been transmitted but nothing happened (although I may have the XV-2020 set up wrong).

I'm hoping someone may be able to point out whatever obvious step I've missed in getting the Chocolate to control a couple of Zoom MS pedals (either an MS-60B or an MS-70CDR) via an MS-1. I'm trying to get Program Change A working with them. I have paired the Chocolate with my Android phone and set it to Program Change A, paired the MS-1 with the phone and set it to OTG, connected the MS-1 to the Zoom pedal (this is also the power for the Zoom pedal), switched Bluetooth off on the phone, switched the Chocolate on (flashing blue light) and then the MS-1 (flashing blue light turns solid, as does the light on the Chocolate) so I'm satisfied that they have paired with each other and not the TV or some other random Bluetooth device. I then try pressing switches on the Chocolate and nothing happens. This setup is the same as that shown in one of the other videos by the same guy that did the tutorial about that @Smanth has included, except that I'm not using a separate 9V supply. There's another Youtube video that shows the Chocolate being used with an MS-50G with no 9V supply or batteries, so it should work. One thing I'm not sure about - in Cubesuite, when I tapped on the right-hand button with what appears to be an expression pedal on it, I see [1] 1 CC 0 0~0. If I press + to add another entry, I get [2] 1 CC 0 0~0. I'm not sure if this is simply a CC for the expression pedal (which I'm not using) with the first parameter being the control it applies to and the 0~0 being the range. If so, that's all irrelevant to me as I'm not using the expression pedal. Is there anything obvious (or not obvious) that I may have missed?

Ah, well spotted about the miming. Haven't changed my mind about the track itself though, just don't like the alternation between vocals and bass.

It could be described as a young lady singing and playing bass, but it would be more accurately be described as a young lady singing EXCLUSIVE OR playing bass.

There are many multifx units which allow downshifting - I would assume the Zoom B1 does as the B2, B3, B3n, and B6 all do, as well as the MS-60B. You'd need to see if the sound is OK for you. A bass tuned to a lower pitch (either a 5-string or a BEAD 4-string) might meet your needs but it would depend on whether there's much use of open strings, and if so, whether you'd want to use a capo if the open strings aren't the right ones.

The content of both links appealed to me about equally.

I've tried flats on fretless, and gone back to rounds. Elites stainless 40-125 on all four 5-strings and 40-100 on the 4-string.

Although if I should happen to crash the bike and die that way, "Bat out of Hell" would fit better. My dad had "Bring me sunshine" as his playout song. He died of cancer over a period of a few months so had plenty of time to plan.

I like light and small, so I went from RCF ART710s to Alto TS408s. First gig with them will be in a fortnight.
