Could you take the frets out and plane the fretboard off, then put a new fretboard on and fret it? Jon Shuker did the planing the board off and replacing it part of that exercise for me to get the original defretted fretboard off my Thumb now-fretless and put an unlined ebony fingerboard onto it.

NL2s are 2 pole, NL4s are 4 pole. FC has a latch lock (locking ring for the NL2FC). The NL4FX has been discontinued, and so has the NL4FC, so those plugs will become collectors' items. Looks like the ones to get now are the NLT4FXX or NL4FXX.

As I haven't bought anything from the new BD website, I'm not in a position to compare it with Am*z*n, except to say that it probably doesn't try to force you into buying Prime/strings/plectrums. There could be some pre-filtering done from drop-downs on the main menu. The filtering is comprehensive, which is good. It's by no means perfect, but it's a far better look than the old website and at least as usable. I used to look at the used 5-string basses - that's handy, I can do exactly that now. It would be an improvement to be able to click on the pictures as well as the names to show the details. I also think that if you use the hierarchy display line to go back a level or two, all the filters should be shown with their current selections.

I had a look at the NE5534 specs yesterday as it had happened to be mentioned. The typical output voltage p-p was supply voltage minus 4V, so +/- 15V (30V supply) gave typical 26V p-p. Presumably a 9V (4.5V +/-) supply would result in typically 5V p-p. But the actual output is typically around 150mV p-p so 5V is well more than plenty - more than 0dB line level in fact.

I've got the same ones on the left on the bottom row, branded Muslady. They were fine for quite a while but a little while ago I started getting a high-pitched whine from them which came and went according to how I orientated the transmitter. That was when I got the 5.8GHz Lekatos, which have been fine.
