1. It probably is lots of the same guts.
2. Probably elixir strings mate.
3. The gaffer is a custom build that last I heard Andy is planing to add to the standard product line. Dunno if he still is but I'm sure if you asked for one one would turn up within a few days as usual!
4. The heels look wife chunky, are they ok In the 'flesh' ?
5. The mij/cij 75ri's really are amazing basses and they do a lush candy apple red
6. I really fancy one of these. Only slight problem is I'm very into minimising the amount of kit and it seems it would be a hefty extra bit of gear and one I can't really afford tbh but I really want to get one I bought some auralex foam off alex for a tenner, not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.
7. Hah hah. My glasses prescription is even stringer. That's my lenses mrs Gafbass is something like -8:00!!
8. A legend of epic proportions. Saw a thread I'd posted about DI boxes and pm'd me to GIVE me one. Yup. You heard me, GIVE me one. !! (a di box;) That's proper basschat right there! Top gent and I'd say a pretty safe bet!!! Thanks Cliff. :-D
9. Heh heh. I'll get on it asap. Daisy has dealt with her jab really well today (so far!) so that's good news. How did the Marcus assembly go?
10. That one I recognise from gigs, new it's out of my range but if a used one turns up I'd prob take a punt
11. The white jabba that was in BGM really flicked my switch :-)
12. Indeed Tino, well said, welcome swanbrook I hope you enjoy basschat as much as we do, it really is a lovely, warm and friendly place. There's always ups and downs, esp in off topic but hopefully you'll stick around and get to know us all better.
13.
Woo-hoo! Around 13 months old? That one's generally fine. Maybe a bit of a grumbly bairn for a day or two afterwards, but no worse than the ones around 3/4 months (in fact, substantially better IME!). I'm dreading the MMR round two for our big fella at 3y4m. For the first time with jabs, he'll know what's going on! It'll be a job to get him in the room... Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway... back on topic!
Yeah she's 13 months already, where did that time go!!??! She already got her finger stuck in the prometheans grill so she's gonna have a bad day bless her! Thanks for the info mate :0) Really interested to hear about that other hissy one, glad I'm not going mad too lol.
14. I think any further use from this thread may have passed ..
15. I'll do some better pics when I get a chance too Cool innit! Sounds fekkin lush! Very punchy and modern, suits my Billy Gould-ness perfectly, it can do vintage too thoughbut that's not my bag
16. .....' Damn, that thing's cool!! ' Just arrived so I've only had time enough to plug it on and play for two mins (I'm with the little un) but .... ...... ....... NO HISS!!!! Yay ! Oh it's sooooo cool. I reckon we'll be seeing plenty of these! Full review to come. Along with barefaced compact/midget, zoom b9.1ut and wizard gaffer reviews. Just as soon as fatherhood allows, it's the dreaded MMR this afternoon :-/
17. Cool, cheers, that looks like the BSS one. I was hoping for something smaller if poss. Keep em coming!
18. What DI boxes should I be looking at? I already have the hartke vxl but I'm thinking about something small, simple and good no tone shaping or drive etc but better than the di on my lm2. How do people find the ART and Samson boxes? And as I play passive basses do I have to have an active di box? I don't like the Idea of relying on batteries. I'm sure I could use my zoom 9.1 but the di lead would then be trailing across the stage. I just don't always trust those knackered old £20 behringers that seem to get slapped on top of my amp at so many gigs.
19. Yup, me too. The wizard 'gaffer' is just an amazing pickup it's a split humbucker in a jazz sized casing and can really make a j sound like a p when in the neck and as davemuadib will attest sounds bloomin unreal in the bridge, real snap and bite, quite rayish. Exemplary service and attention to detail a great bloke to deal with and fab products at fab prices.
