1. Hmm concerning. Mine is really quite hissy even when just sitting there with nothing plugged in and everything flat no vol or gain :-/
2. Well it came but child and another massive pain in the a$$ have prevented me from much more than a fifteen minute fiddle (ooer!) Initial impression is that it's fab, seems loud and sounds great. Not as well built as my little mark 2 but I'm grateful for a graphic again being a trace boy at heart. Now to the cons .. The speaker cable from the cab is very short meaning you can't sit the amp on top of the cab, useful for stacking I've already messaged obbm about a male-female speaker lead. Once the warranty had expired I'd fit a jack plate tbh. The really irritating con is the HISS it's as someone once described the cmd102p 'like a nest of hissing vipers'. I know WOT didn't find any hiss on his which has me concerned, although it may be due to our vibe preference, if the vibe control is on the vintage side it's fine, but on the modern side it really hisses a lot! That along with the normal background tweeter hiss that's present it's quite noisy in operation. It also hisses through my bfb compact (sounds even better though, really suits it) and hisses when nothing is plugged in even with all knobs flat and vol and gain down. I'm sure when playing at volume it won't be a problem and I'm being picky but i dont want lots of hiss between songs. We'll see on fri as I have a backline gig. The tiny little tweeter has me eyeballing my bfb compact and a powerdrill though, that would make that cab just perfect!! (I can hear Alex's palm hitting his face from here hee hee) I'll update as I get time with it and to turn it up etc Running it in stereo from my zoom b9.1 with my lm2>bfb sounded sweeeeeeet.
3. Thanks dude. :-) following advice I've upped the price a bit but ONO applies.
4. Its with a heavy heart i list this, as ive only just got it and i really do love it, its just exactly my kinda sound and vibe. BUT reality tells me that I really need to reduce my credit card more than have three jazz basses, so here it is. Sorry no trades im afraid, its cash all the way. These are hard to price and this is really is just mint, i cant find a dink anywhere, although its bone stock, albeit with brand new 40-100 strings. The bass will come with a nice fender gig bag. Im gonna ask for £650 ONO collected please. Im VERY reluctant to ship and would charge cost to do so. Mainly because finding the packaging and sorting a courier is really tricky for me. The bass is beautifully set up with a very low action with plenty of play. I spent HOURS getting this one JUST right, and got instant comments on the sound from a usually disinterested band at rehearsal. Its a fabulous example of a bass i thought would never be for me, and i was very wrong. It growls and snarls with lits of ping but also has real smoothness. If youEQ sensibly its ALL there. I shall buy one of these again when funds allow, thats for sure. It flattens the Geddy i had and loved. Heres a few late night iphone pics for now, ill try and get some daylight ones soon. sorry straplocks not included
5. Funnily enough as I type I'm in the car on the way back from a festival where I had to play through a 15" 200w trace combo. I loved the fact I could just walk on, plug in my bass n pedal, hit preshape two knock the graphic off and sound great
6. I disagree with the furry comment too, mine was 50% vinyl, 50% furry and was just awesome. I'd still be using it but for the weight, and if I ever go back to heavy stuff this is what I'll go back to. Great rig that never ever let me down.
7. Further question, can you have compression on all the time?
8. We get really mixed responses so I'd love basschatters thoughts we are off to Cambridge today for Fordham Music Festival 2010! We're on 3.30pm on the amazing travelling stage. they have a shuttlebus service running from Cambridge and Newmarket train stations. Their number is 07950 271147. It costs £8 from Cambridge and £5 from Newmarket.
9. Same here, apart from the flea issue :-(
10. No idea when mines coming, the tracking link is all in german! But it was 60% of the way here earlier??!
11. my trigger is pulled...incoming!
12. bump for gator being for sale again
13. i really want one these to ease the pain of having to sell my walnut body to build my dream bass back at christmas when life went badly wrong and i had to sell tons of stuff. Sadly im skint having just done some amp buying but if this hangs around a bit who knows..
14.
Grand Wazoo is presently on hols in Egypt and logging from the missus Iphone (she's gonna kill me when she gets the bill HAHA)
uh oh! my mate got an £800 bill for forgetting to switch of roaming on his iphone id be careful bud! Ive owned both and i preferred the build fit n finish of the classic vibe but the sound of the VM. I also found the neck more stable on the CV and its easier to mod ime as parts seem to fit it better. I reckon if i buy again it'll be the CV (ive already owned 2 VM.s!) That said the new VM looks lush!
15. im so glad i got my white (maple) 75ri like a week before they stopped selling new stuff abroad. Although about a year ago i was enquring about a number of basses in the u-box and they all seemed to have warped necks, humidity or reluctance to ship i dont know!
16. when i was in doublecross it got to be a nightmare, i needed my four and a backup four and a six and a backup six. I quickly decided against playing sixers!
17. Still nothing firm so still going NO trades tho just cash folks and £300 is really the lowest I'm afraid. GAS needs settling!
18. some great kit here folks, anyone with a pedal board should jump on that gator!
19. A few offers but nothing firm. I should add I'm not really gonna go below £300 on this one. Oh and it comes with a roqsolid cover.
20. dude, are you sure you wanna sell this?
