1. I have found the quality has dropped off in recent years tbh, Ive had tons of em, and some better than others. (Incidentally Im after swapping a black GB7 type for a gold one at the mo if anyone has one going btw!)
2. see, im aleady confused, cause how do i see/wipe off the cross if ive stuck a decal over it?
3. On the other hand when switching from pedals to multi FX i have found this weekend onstage, that its best to wear smaller shoes, instead of big boots, for the close together switches so that you dont trigger a massive synth sound instead of the nice dirty flanger spot effect you were after.
4. Im a waiting a couple of sets also :-) ill post when i get em, although im impatient and hamfisted so expect wobblage
5. Only a passing comment of curiosity but i thought you might like a peek at my old 'bassmaster funk' i think it was made by tanglewood or cort, ive had it since the early '90s and its one ill never part with, kinda spector'y, right down to the concave back and really an amazing bass. It was £350 in a sale back in the day, and ive preffered it to most basses ive owned. Not much to be found out about 'em, only ever come across one other, which was an excited bloke on myspace who messaged me as surprised as i was to hear of another.. carry on.......
6. Monte Allums modded boss cs-3 compressor, great pedal, i have two so this one can go £45 posted Boss noise suppressor, really a worthwhile addition to any rig, £45 posted 1980's Boss CE-2 no idea what label colour, its long gone. These go for silly money on ebay, but im not asking silly money as its quite chipped although well maintained and works prefectly. Just an awesome pedal. So lets say £60 posted
7. Lol, know what you mean, I'm all in a flap cause there's a bass for sale that I reeeeeeally want ! Considering selling my whole fx board to get it! This will also cone with a White '70's pickguard too
8. Im selling on one of my wizard 'GAFFER' split coil humbuckers, which you may have spotted me waxing lyrical over. Its a punchy beast that simulates a P bass in a jazz sized casing and its just sublime, adds real meat and heft and is dead quiet. With the tone open think green day etc, that grind, but with it backed off its instant retro thud. An awesome pickup £50 delivered
9. nice one boss, i'd love to play the old town again, so dont forget us when youre bokking, ill speak to suze and get her to hit you guys up when we next book too. (add us on facebook if you've got it)
10.
Im the bassist for a nuneaton bassed band called Polo Lounge. not been with them long but where doing pretty well, seem to be playing leicester alot.
Wow, you guys sound really like my old band (also from Leicester) called Lipp Lucid, (now ashdowne, and sounding rather different) we should totally hook up and do a gig together, i reckon we'd work quite well, check out my lounge fly link in my sig (or above lol)
11. Hi, well im in a female fronted pop-rock band called 'lounge fly'. To my ears we sound a bit like paramore, meets garbage meets no doubt ish, but check us out and see what you think! Our influences are really varied as they are mostly classic rock fans and i like funk and disco lol, but the drummer and singer put most of the stuff together anyway. We are getting great reviews, although mixed response live (im not sure why, maybe too complex to dance to??) although as a new band we are still finding our feet, should we be more punk, more electro etc etc, its early days! Please go and take a peek, we have a new video on the way next week too, and are always looking to gig swap etc! website is hear with links to twitter, facebook, youtube etc http://www.myspace.com/loungeflymusic cheers! Gaf
12. Ok, so i bought this for a project, but tbh, since having the little 'un, i just dont get the time, so im passing it on as it came, which is in good nick apart from a worn area on the forearm bout where a sticker was removed and took off the shine (impossible to photograph) and a big chip out the back. The bass need some work, the truss nut is either stripped or massive, and the neck i think is bent as the action is much higher at the body end than the headstock. Ive been watching a suitable replacement neck on ebay for £57 posted, as i was gonna turn this into a tele deluxe bass! but hey ho, the best laid plans eh! It all works and i reckon will be great, its very punchy and loud although the strings are all used up and plonky! anyway id like £50 collected if poss, i will post if i must but it be £70 posted. (neck off, strap not included)
13. more pics, sorry for dodgy iphone quality lol so just to reiterate, the gold will ALL be removed and the chrome put back on, (now done) and both pickguards and the chrome pickup covers included in the price
14. Ok, ive done it again!, my wanting to like P basses and then finding out i dont has led me to this... Its a 1996 MIK fender 50th anniversary squier Precision, that the previoous owner had converted to a '57 style with a lightly aged( actual play wear i think) anodized scratchplate and pickup covers, it also apparently has had a pickup upgrade but to what im not sure. I then went and changed the pickguard to tortie, the pots to alpha's with an orange capacitor, did a fret polish and clean up and added gold hardware and self adhesive 'inlays'. Now the bass is for sale with the original chrome hardware, im keeping the gold for now, but i will include the pickup covers and both pickguards, the 'inlays' im happy to leave or remove as preferred, they come off with no ill effects, the tugbar is also included. The bass has a lovely flamey, quite flat neck and is set up pretty well, although i reckon it would benefit from a nut file. The body has some chips and wear as its been a real player throughhout its life, the fingerboard and neck have started to age really nicely. As you can see the previous owner has also added a fender decal and laquered over it, although id have used a darker tint myself. Its a really genuinely lush bass with a great p bass sound and proper, ahem, 'mojo' it would make a great gigging bass or project, and looks the 'shizzle'. Im after £160 posted or swaps for jazz basses or WHY. (two pickups though!)
15. yup, no worries with em at all, ive got a set for sale, but they are the smaller, squier sized ones
16. I beat it!!! used a photo i found online of a p bass' guts rather than a diagram and away we go, need shielding though, as it hums now. grr!
17. Aw that's my old bass, I did all the mods, wish I could get it back but I dunno how I could raise the cash
18. Cheers, ill try to get pics up later, i have no meter, or indeed a clue when it comes to these things, i just took wires off one pot and soldrerd it to the same place on the new pots, then when that didnt work tried virtually every combination possible! im amazed ive stumbled on the right one just by chance!!!?? Bear in mind when it comes to these things i need speaking to like a child! (I dont mind) i know pots and they have tags, that it! pics up when i get in
19. I've followed every diagram online, my father in law has tried too! It does somethnh different everytime!! But NOT the right thng! At the mo it's wired as per the fender diagram and the pots do nothing!??!?? There is a slight boost in volume halfway down the vol pots taper but that's it it sounds like I've wired to the jack but I havnt?!??!! Aaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh it's a '96 squier nothing fancy pleeeeeeeeeease help me before it goes out the window, this thing has a mind of it's own! Two sets of pots tried, the pickup works, so WTF is going on??? Breath
20. yup , Mrs Gaf takes the p1ss too, "you talk like they're you're family!"
