1. I found myself reluctantly at a band comp the other day and everyone seemed to have one of the Mexican 70's basses (or an ibanez.) The 70's jazz seems very in at the mo. Hope they go out again! Lol. I was playing warwicks when they got really popular too.
2. My band loungefly are looking to sort some gig swaps, check us out in my sig we are sorta pop rock. A bit paramore-ish. If you live in one of those cities, or that sort of area, within a giggable radius of Cheltenham. We'd love to hook up and sortsome gigs out. Contact Suze our lovely singer through our myspace or facebook to sort. I'm especially keen to play Bristol and Leicester (weekends tho;) Oh and tell suze I sent ya, so she knows I'm trying
3. Here's one from our local venue the other week. Excuses now though, the audio is very weird!, I look very tubby! (eaten very poorly the last few months and too much comfort eating has porked me out!) I think the engineer didn't have the keyboard in at the start, hadn't seen each other let alone rehearsed in at least three weeks at this point but hey ho. Excuses over.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MliAfhj5d3U...e=youtube_gdata hope that works I'm on my phone.
4. likewise, my main basses are both 75ri's, and ive settled on them after a looong journey (49 basses to date) they really are fantastic all round
5. Zoom b9.1 but the only way i can get anything new in the house is if a lot of stuff visibly goes! Im on very thin ice with my wife!
6. There really is. Even with the stuck zip you can still put stuff in that pocket too. Its fab and only going cause i have a very clear idea of an fx solution i need to fund!
7. 'fraid not. (Ono btw) check out me writing like im 15
8. I seem to buy and sell GT-B's every other day at the minute! All part of my search for an fx set up that replicates my pedals, but that i can carry around easily! BUt i have a new plan now and so the latest GT6 has become a casualty! So its up for sale, in great nick with a photocopied manual and power supply. (also selling a hartke VXL bass attack and a ritter twin bass gig bag as part of the switcheroo!) pics of all up soon as i can get a chance to take and upload some! Boss is £130 posted in the UK
9. I could tell you a very similar story about a few hi-fi brands, mission in particular! Where the reps have acknowledged the appaling sub standard quality and just shrugged it off. All sorts of stuff.
10. I picked this up n behalf of a mate but it now turns out to be extraneous and thus will be back for sale when it arrives!
11. Pretty much as the title says. I just replaced it with the wizard 'gaffer' so this is going for £30 posted.
12. Only just got this so it's mint but one of the zips on the neck pockets is jammed, turns out I don't need it anymore either! cost over a hundred quid but the company I bought it from have been so useless I'm just gonna take a hit and sell it privately rather than get a refund, I've given up dealing with them! I'll get pics up it's black with green accents and holds two basses and has loads of other dangly bits and shiny bits and pockets and is quite fab! Looking for £70 posted.
13. Bought these for my practice set up but only use headphones. Prb had half an hour of use tops. They are in beech and I think are 6-8ohms and 70w. Lovely balanced sound retail new at £100 i'd like £55 posted. If anyone wants it there's also a Sony tcwe475 twin tape in silver never used good nick for £30 posted and several pairs of expensive interconnects mainly ixos I'll part with too. Details to follow on that one.
14. Realised I don't need a spare one of these anymore! It's in good nick with one small dink on the top. I changed the knobs for ones off a mixer with pointers so you can see em on stage. An awesome box with di, drive and preshape. This is my spare, my other one is an integral part of my sound. £40 posted pics as as soon as but you know how they look tape will be removed and all knobs will match when sent
15. Ill sneak this in quietly here, and see who spots it before I make a thread about it but wizard now also make a pbass style split humbucker in a jazz sized casing. It's amazing and solo'd in a neck position can make a jazz sound like a big punchy p bass and if you roll back the tone a smidge... Instant 70's funk tone. In the bridge location it adds beef and punch and bite. A great pickup, called the 'Gaffer' might be worth partnering it with something the the wizard trad or even the area 51 stealth for massive snarly badness!
16. I found the new thunderbird very disappointing. Poorly finshed with overspray and blemishes, and the pickups had no punch or top at all. Worst of all was the substandard fret job. Some were visibly higher than others causing all sorts of issues. It went straight back!
17. For gigging I a huge fan of the markbass ones that Velcro to the side of my cabs. Discrete, safe, handy and stable and cheap!
