I feel a bit bad now, my whole rig is wired with monster, speaker cables, patch leads the lot. Except the mains cable, that's a QED one I picked up while working at richer sounds.
i had an epiphone thunderbird, but i sold it because it really wasn't the sound i was looking for. however, it sounds like it could be perfect for you, very low and bassy, with a lot of presence. i guess you could say it was quite agressive sounding. my problem with it was it didn't sound "crisp" enough for me, i like a bright sound, personally.
totally what he said ...

Thanks dude, I was sure I'd done that but it's totally cool now!! I'm a plank!

Ive got it set up with a patch per song. Basiclly each one has my sound and then the fx I need for that song if any. But when I switch from one patch to another it likes to activate on or more of the FX. So I go from song 1 with no individual pedals on, press bank up to go to the next song and it comes in with for instance the phaser switched on. So I switch it off, change bank/patch whatever you wanna call it, go back to it again and hey presto, it's back on. I want to be able to just go from patch to patch and then bring in the fx. Not have to change patch, switch fx off till I use em and then switch em back off again only for them to come back on when I go back to that patch if you get me! How on earth do I dictate which sounds are preset to on/off at the patch change? Help!! Cheers :-D Ps any tips on how to get a decent synth sound (for 'broken' on the loungefly myspazz) and funky filter sound?

Thoughts and opinions on pickguards for a walnut jazz?
gafbass02 replied to gafbass02's topic in Bass Guitars
Yeah it's not actual walnut. I think it's just called the walnut jazz cause of the colour. Its real name is the fender Jb-62 WAL. I think the body is ash dunno if there's a walnut top n back or not going for a slightly victor bailey vibe. My fave bass is my 1990 mij 62ri in basswood or ash with sonic blue so this is a change of flavour. -

Cheers all. I've done all the setting them the same etc but then got to the gig/rehearsal etc and fond that what as the same at home isn't the same from room to room etc in the end tight-cash-ness pointed me at a 2nd hand gt6b. I figured I'd try it again! If no joy then watch out for it on here soon !
That's a problem with the VXL - no level control linked with the Harmonics. I've had mine for a couple of years now, and love it. I use it with the Shape always on and I use the Harmonics either as an always-on light grit tone, or as a dirt & volume boost for solos/intros, etc. IMO, it's great for both, but IME, the VXL isn't useable as a clean/heavy-dirt pedal. If Hartke want to sell shed-loads more of these, they'd be clever to address the Harmonics level increase (and a couple of other small things), and bring out a VXL-2. I know this is of no help to you, other than to confirm that what you're trying to accomplish can't (IMO) be done with one VXL. Other owners may correct me or disagree, but for me, my VXL is for clean/light grit, and I'm getting another separate pedal (probably an EHX Bass Blogger) for big dirt. Mark
literally, exactly the same!! I run my compressor after mine which does help and makes it useable as a drive channel. Although sometimes still a smidge too much.
