1. Its a HUGE hum the goes away when i touch metal parts and only occurs when any one of the several dimmers is on in the house even if its up full! Its not there on any of my fully active basses with active pups and preamp, i.e. Status jazzbastard, and streamer, but the basses with passive pups and a pre amp its really bad on, ie my ray and my KSD, its there but not too bad on my squier VM. Sounds like earth hum but is a pain in the ass! I tried the belkin pure av from work and it did nothing at all, gutted!
2. Any got any thoughts on these?, i know theres the ebtech and the EHX, will they cure the buzz i get when my dimmer switches are on? Any one got any experience with em? Or should i just get a belkin pureav 8 way mains adaptor thing?
3.
My boss worked in the John Player Graphics studio in the 70s (before leaving to start his own agency where I now work) and one of his projects was the design of those black and gold graphics for the Lotus JPS F1 car.
Seriously!, that is so damn cool!, i had a go kart copy made of wood and pram wheels when i was a kid!
4.
I'll actually have to double check! I'm pretty sure it has the phono selection on the input selector, but having never needed to use it, I'm not 100% sure if it has the preamp stage as well. I would make the assumption that yes it does, but I will go and check for you! I have a collection of vinyl, but never got round to buying a decent turntable to do it justice... however.. my bro has.. so I thik a trip to his house with a recording device of sorts to put all my discontinued vinyl on to CD ;o)
The A1mk3SE did'nt come fitted with the PM01 phono stage despite having the labelled input. Its a £20 extra available from any branch of Richer Sounds, they fit it free and its takes like 10mins. (employee)
5. The jazzman adds the neck j type pickup mate
6. A good mate of mine just won 15 grand to release an album through slice the pie, should they be worried?, hope not they've worked damn hard for it, id be gutted if it was a bit dodgy?, any thoughts?
7. Think i got £450-£500 for my well gigged FNA Jazzman, cant recall exactly now it was a while before christmas
8. When i was a kid the JPS lotus was the coolest thing ever...till Glen A l Larson anyway! Glad to see if i am bonkers that im not alone!
9. the GT40 is exactly what i had in mind
10. You know what as a long time bassworlder (chatter now) things like this really hurt me. I have had nothing ever but total utter dependability on here my 1st transaction through bassworld was a swap and a guy just sent me his bass through the post with me having sent nothing to him at all, just total trust, and id hate this place to end up full of 'new guys' (usually a good thing) or 'one offs' just taking the doodah. This is such a warm and unique community, id hate to loose it. Loves to you all! (aaah!)
11. Following my competition stripe idea i thought id mention i've always thought car themed paint schemes would be cool, such as a GULF blue and orange stripe thing, or a black and gold precision trans am theme with firebird logo of course, british racing green with leather pickguard, an STP logo, or how about a herbie bass in white with the stripes and circular racing number? Am i bonkers?
12. heh, yeah, cause my carpets much better!
13. Thanks dude, it my third streamer and def my fave, had a very pretty stage 1 streamer for a while but this LX is just the (ahem) 'shizzle'
14. To be honest i reckon you'd be doing yourself short there, id imagine you could pick up a Streamer LX with the full contoured body and two piece bridge for the price (see mine in the porn section) you could get for the SUB. Just my thoughts, good luck though, as long as its right for you!
15. Its not my best or fave, but its def the best warwick ive owned or played and i really like the pics (All off my mobile apart from the bottom one from its original ebay listing) so i thought id pop it in here!
16. Long shot this but after Doublecross finished up i sorta ended up with the record companies tour guitar stand. It holds six and is a proper super heavy duty world tour type flightcase effort worth a ton of cash. (For a guitar stand!) Its got some stickers on and it plush lined and has toured Europe with some big names in AOR/melodic rock (and Doublecross heh heh) Ill take some proper pics later when ive dragged it out the cupboard, but i thought id pop this up quick you can just see it here nearly full of basses i no longer own: Retail is about £500 i think, but i want nowhere near that!, OFFERS??? but itd have to be picked up as theres no way i could post this thing!, its the real deal! id also be interested in a swap for an acoustic bass cash either way
17. Im also considering a 70s fender at the mo, although it would really have to be a jazz, or possibly also a p with j pup, but i dont know where to look online for dealers tbh, anyone know good places?, i d love a jazz from 75-77 ish
18. Fwiw my main bass is a modded to hell 1990 MIJ 62 reissue jazz and before the modding i never had any pup problems so i dont think its the model. Hope you get it sorted, i stuck emgs in mine about ten years ago and still going strong.
19. Ooops!, i love this pedal so i bought another one this week only to get it and remember why i sold my last one, it simply wont fit on my board! (D'oh!) so im gonna have to sell it on. Its in pretty much mint nick with one tiny, tiny chip on the front edge and fully working etc etc. Most of you know what it is and the specs so i wont go into detail other than to say its great and in top condition and i sell for £45 shipped Also interested in a swap/partial swap for a loop pedal (a repeating loop, not a bypass loop) im such a dumbass, cant believe i forgot why i sold the last one!
20. Its true, rockbass are fine and make a tasty delicious snack at any time of the day or night
21. Me, its one i owned briefly from ebay about a year ago, it is actually a great sounding bass, but has a turn up at the end of the board rendering it very tricky to set up, i nearly spunked for a refret before getting a refund from the seller instead.
