  1. curious to know if there jazz basses could be modded with available parts, such as a wd neck, pickguards etc or would they just not fit, anyone know?
  2. im also about to pull the trigger on a bass i have actually owned before a vwh 75ri jazz from ishibashi, i had mine for less than 24hrs before due to circumstances forcing a sale, but ive not stopeed wanting a white jazz for like two years now and its the best compromise i can find. Really id like oly white with the maple neck but that would mean building myself from WD etc so i decided just to go for the 75 again. I even had an abortive relationship with one of those 'signature' basses from buildabass
  3. Found aroundabout sound today after living in Cheltenham for seven weeks, great place even managed to finally play a KSD, which i loved but sadly cant afford!
  4. the ones that spring to mind are Styx, Dokken, Danger danger, statetrooper, mendeed, the jellies, sikth, two bands i forget the names of but both were in the top ten a week later, on two different occasions, im sure there was more in the late 90's, lush i think, something about flowers, loads of indie acts that were big back then for about two years!, Replaced Reef at a festival once. and turned down towers of london, I may have overdone things, my memory is kinda hazy! hehheh
  5. yeah, the pale patches are worn through the finish, and there is regular dings and scratches here and there, postage would be in a warwick padded bag, in a guitar shipping box, with some bubblewrap if i can lay my hands on it.
  6. Hey dude, tbh ive never played a standard corvette so i couldent really say, its kinda middling, no jazz thin, not p bass thick. Id be after £20 towards the postage, the dings can mostly be seen in the pics, i can always email yo ua few more if you like.
  7. reckon id like another 102P to match my other one, then id def be able to get it upstairs!
  8. glad you like it, i was floored wityh the power of mine, esp when i realised after a large outdoor gig that i hadnt plugged the jack into my 15" and id done the whole gig on just a 2X10 with the lmk!, it totally kicks ass
  9. Following the thread in amps the other day i decided to bump this... Hey all, since i made the move to Cheltenham i now live in a tiny little box and i can barely get my shiny new markbass 151HR (thank god i sold that Trace stack for those who remember it!) Sooo i was wondering about using two 2x10's instead which leaves me asking if anone wants to swap a nearly new, only gigged once, only left the house twice markbass 151hf cab with the tags on for a markbass traveller 102p ...and just to be a pain i still cant drive so theyd have to come to cheltenham to do the swap, but id make a cup of tea and let em play my basses! heres a pic
  10. theres no finish at all, its just open, bare, unprotected wood that you have to oil regularly to build up its protection, gives an amazing, open, strident tone.
  11. still for sale or swap for a white jazz bass (us, CIJ, MIJ) or £400
  12. hehheh, you picked one of the few bass players in the world who cant drive!, sorry dude!
  13. unsold on ebay, people just dont want warwicks at the mo huh!
  14. just set it up a bit and polished the frets, now i know why i love it so, but alas it has to go, to fund my perfect jazz
  15. recently moved from Leicester to Cheltenham and find myself looking for a band, the text below is copied from my myspace page at myspace.com/gafbass02 I have been playing bass for around sixteen years now. During this time i have played a wide range of styles from europop to (very) heavy metal. I have extensive live and studio experience and have been lucky enough to share the bill with many great bands including STYX, DOKKEN, SIKTH, DANGER DANGER, THE JELLIES, MENDEED, STATETROOPER and many more. Over the years i have played at a huge range of events, from tiny pub corners to massive televised festivals and legendary venues such as Glasgows SECC, the Birmingham symphony hall and Hammersmith Apollo. I have also been featured in the press, television and radio both in the UK and in the foreign market. I have also done a variety of session work, for which i am always happy to be considered. In this capacity I have worked many different bands, artists and producers including work for sony music and Chris Sutton (Lucie Silvas. Starship, Smokey Robinson) I am primarily a groove based fingerstyle bass player although i do use plectrums when the song demands it. However it is my 'rapid fire' slap techniques and use of harmonics and chords that people seem to like to most! While with TB records I released the critically acclaimed album 'Time after Time' with the uk melodic rock band 'DOUBLECROSS' (now known as FATEMAKER) which sold well across the globe, topping many melodic rock/AOR boards and was toured across the UK. 'Time after Time' is still available to buy from record stores and online retailers. (cat no: tbcd0109) With the popular metal band 'BALANCE OF SILENCE' we self released the album 'Forcing Samsara' which has also gone on to sell well and the band have become hugely popular phenomenon on myspace and in the global metal scene, featuring on metal compilations, DVD soundtracks and on the favourite bands list of some of the biggest names in metal today. (Keep an eye out for Balance of Silence t-shirts being sported by the bands in many metal videos!) Another band i enjoyed playing with was LIPP LUCID who later became ASHDOWNE. Playing with them opened up a subtler side to my playing and helped me focus on 'less is more' while keeping the groove and keeping the bass interesting. They are a great band well worth checking out here on myspace. Playing with them saw me enjoying some excellent gigs at venues including SOUND in Londons Leicester square and the Liverpool Apollo as part of the Miss England show. I also occasionally play for my 'hobby' band 'MYRIADSONIX' who are easily my favourite band to have ever played with simply due to the enormous talent of the other musicians and the thought that goes into the songs. This band is an amalgamation of the bands i enjoyed my first sucesses with as a youth including SCREAM who were a great early 90's 'festival favourite' funk rock outfit with a reputation for always offering a 'lively' performance!
  16. the rattle at the top of the neck is now fixed, and the buzz is my house, its the same on my ray
  17. subtle bump, 2nd thoughts creeping in, it is soo pretty after all
  18. they do trip when a bulb blows, is this bad?, uh oh!
  19. They hummed a bit in the last house, but the new house is really loud. Sadly as ive just moved to the city i dont have any friends, let alone a sparky sone.
  20. Anyone know of a pedal i can use to remove the massive mains hum in my new home that has rendered my basses with passive pups just too noisy to use at home?, even my ray. I looked at the EHX hum debugeer but the reviews are bad, and worse it needs a special power supply making a non starter for my pedal board.
