  1. Anyone know of a pedal i can use to remove the massive mains hum in my new home that has rendered my basses with passive pups just too noisy to use at home?, even my ray.
I looked at the EHX hum debugeer but the reviews are bad, and worse it needs a special power supply making a non starter for my pedal board.

  2. Im selling on my '99 warwick FNA jazzman with seymour duncan pups and preamp, and hipshot detuner. The bass is the one that has been my main bass since '99 and ive used it on the tours and gigs with Styx, Dokken, Danger Danger, Sikth, mendeed etc so its been passed around a bit and played by some big names at some huge venues, but hence has some 'mojo' wear and dings on the body. It can be a bit buzzy in some rooms and quiet as a mouse in others, it hates dimmer switches! (why is that?) but its an awesome bass thats been loved and waxed regularly so is darkening nicely and played regularly.
It sounds punchy as hell and is the most versatile bass ive ever owned, not to mention pretty.
There is a ton of pics of her in action on www.myspace.com/gafbass02
Not sure if i want to sell, esp as warwicks really seem unwanted at the mo, but i could poss be persuaded or tempted with a trade for the right jazz bass (not nessecarily fender)a white one in particular, or things of interest such status, rays, ksd etc also interested in a jaguar bass

dodgy mobile phone pic below too:

  3. with a pearl plate and a matching headstock and you have my dream 'ray, let me know if it all gets too tasteless for you, could ben tempted to swap my matching headstock piezo black sparkle ray for that beauty! :)

  4. Did an outdoor gig with my markbass traveller 102p, 151hf and lmk2 on Sat. Fairly large stage with the amp set well back on a very wobbly wooden stage. Playing away i realised that i was really loud ( i turned down!) even from that distance with the sound full, clean and clear from deep bass notes on the detuned E right up to my chords and harmonics.

    Heres the thing........

When i took it down i realised id not properly plugged in the 151hf, id done the whole gig just on the 102p!?!?!?!?!?!

    Unreal!

makes me gutted i carted that Trace rig around so long!

The LMK was only up to about 9 oclock! and that was into 8 ohms

    cooool

  5. Recently picked up an as new squier VMJ fretless jazz on here, to which i promptly added a tortoisehell scratchplate to 'de-jacofi' it a bit.
However i think i bought it cause i used to play all fretless years ago and thought i missed it, turns out i dont!, so im sorta thinking of swapping it for the squier vmj p bass if i can find an interested party, BUT, and this is where you guys come in, should i?
As it goes i already have six stunning fretted basses, so would a simple squier P be worth it?, ive never owned a P but i fancy the idea of slowly modding a white one. But surely its more sense to keep a fretless handy 'just incase'!? As i can get a pretty convincing fretless sound from my other basses, but then i can also get a convincing P sound?
    thoughts?
