1. Totally agree, best chilis song and flea bass line by a mile IMHO ime ymmv etc
2. I swapped mine out for fretted last night, very pleased as well :-) although getting the bushings in both necks has been a bit traumatic!!
3. Bump I can post, but the cost would probably not be worth it.
4. I've made this same discovery over the past three years, where nearly my gigging has been on guitar.
5. I have a tc BH250, fits in my gig bag pocket along with my main amp, a markbass MoMark 800. Very handy thing to have
6. I have a couple of custom world gp necks. The fretless one is amazing, easily on par with mighty mite. Apart from the dots being positioned for a fretted neck. As it happens this is my preference though, so no big. The fretted one 'would' be on par with mighty mite if there wasn't quite so much dark coloured filler around the blocks, which lets down an otherwise outstanding neck.
7. Not everything, but the best bits. My triggers broom 1990 mij 60's reissue, My warmoth jazz, and my cij jb75-100us jazz, bergantino AE210's, MoMark 800 head, TC bh250. 8. Well, it's been many years, so I thought I'd better add an update. Me in bass posing mode In guitarist/singist mode And in 'oh I bought an acoustic guitar, I'm so sensitive' mode
9. Bump, trades entertained, but there's not much I need. This is taking up space, needs to be gone
10. The bass is in 9.5/10 condition, with only a very minor mark on the reverse of the top horn as far as I can tell, pretty tough to photograph but I've tried. It will be supplied with a kinsman soft case (not bag). Pictured. This bass has a low, low fast action up and down the neck. Sound wise it's a very versatile instrument, with its bartolini pickups and three band EQ you can get pretty much any tone you like. I enjoy the fact that the EQ range is highly useable! No OTT boominess or excessive 'clack'. It does the Marcus miller slap tone just as nicely as that bridge pickup burble or the neck pick up 'slam'. One of the nicest playing and sounding bass I've owned (over 75, mainly four figure basses!) Every little detail is spot on,the truss rod cover alone is a little work of art, as is the counter sunk heavy duty bridge, the coach line around the headstock, the fit and finish are exemplary! It weighs, almost nothing!!!! Like polystyrene nothing!?! Maybe 5/6 pounds at most at a guess. The body and neck have a lovely open grain feel, very Warwick like, and the finish is quite stunning. There is a genuine, deep, hypnotic optical depth to the figuring. I've NEVER seen a finish like this on another one of these, or on anything else at its price point. In terns of bang for buck, it's the best I've seen. Bar none. I've polished the frets, babied it, set up the thing just right and loved it. But it's last in first out. I'm asking £250 collected from Cheltenham. Or £275 delivered mainland uk only. I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer collection, as the case is pretty large, and I don't have facility to wrap the snot out of it for protection like I used to. Payment wise I'd prefer cash on collection or bank transfer, PayPal at a push, but I don't want to pick up the fees for it. It's a wonderful instrument that should make someone very happy indeed
11. I'm pretty sure we all know what this is, it's a cracking little bit of kit, highly versatile, an EQ, DI box, booster all in one. Uses fancy schmancy psychoacoustic-ness to add oomph without destroying speakers! It's done the job I bought it for, and is now redundant. Pretty decent nick, big sticker on the bottom, fully working and an excellent addition to any gig bag. Also VERY handy on acoustic guitar. £45 posted uk only, no trades, there's really nothing I need
12.
If Big Stu's still about he'll probably confirm that Slade , in their early days , used this approach to create a wall of sound. They'd all have cabs either side of the stage. We've done it on occasion. Another approach I used on big stages was to put a table on it's side behind my stack to 'reflect' the rear ported ashdowns I had at the time. Worked very well.
That's a pretty cool idea! My cabs are rear ported too.
13. Love his work, hope he's doing ok and gets better soon, I've a job for him too.
14.
Of course it worked well - the balloons were in a 'frowny' face position. Had they been in a scooped 'smiley' face position, you'd have been completely lost in the mix.
Sir, I believe you have just hit the nail on the head!!
15. Yep, Robins nest. I'm pretty sure those factors, especially the low ceiling are pretty big contributors. But mainly the balloons.
16. Yeah, back in the day I was lucky enough to be in a position to have two 4x10's stacked on each side of the stage. Heheh. Not always popular though. When I play with my funk band they just stack behind me, but this one is a bit more rock and with only three of us we try to find ways to make it sound bigger
17. I think so. the guitar in this case is just two amps run from the left and right outs on the pedal board, with the stereo 'air' effect on in the delay section, but then some effects with big stereo pans/delays/chorus etc, and then the core sound only very subtle stereo processing. The bass is just mono as ever, just one cab on a longer speaker cable and put over the other side
18. Because there was some special effects processing going on
