1. Hah, yep, that's exactly why I changed them!
2. This is a LOT of vintage cool guitar for this money. It's not a plywood heap, its a genuine solid, low action, fast playing, great sounding guitar you can walk straight on stage with.
3. Cheers boss. I must admit I'm not desperate to part with it, so if it's not gone soon I'll just keep it. It's so damn handy to have.

5. I'm selling a variety of quality cables, all are in full working order and have seen little actual use, nut have been carted around in a cable bag for ages. All sticky tape will be removed before sale. There's two monster bass cables, right angle to straight 12ft at £20 each, and the same cable at 21ft at £25 These cables have great solid low end punch and have been rock solid. I like them a lot. A original zaolla silver cable, a real top notch bit of kit, thick and hugely over engineered with silver cabling, cost a fortune, length is around 20ft at a guess, right angle to straight, veeeery posh! Sounds amazing, clear and punchy with so little loss it sounds louder than other cables?! £40 'Control' 30ft cable, £20 very long, never used, good solid, well made cable. 6. Bought this off here a while back, but no longer need it. It's a W audio DA800 power amp 400x400watt@4 ohms Volume Control Knob Indicators. 7. Hey bud, yeah all well, this is still for sale all
8. This now discontinued guitar cab is a popular and sought after beast. It comes standard fitted with a celestion vintage 30 12" speaker in a well made, very attractive cab which is not heavy at all. The grille is a nice basket weave and it sounds fantastic. Mine has removable top feet fitted and yes, the deception badge will come off, I'll include the original name plate. It's not mint by a long way, but not a tatty mess. I'm after £45 collected from Cheltenham. Only possible trades are a gold four string bridge, may babicz, badass or a gotoh 206. Or good set of jazz pickups.
9. This is a real Swiss Army knife, and great at all it's jobs! The drive is my favourite for valvey bite by a loooooong way, and the preshape really comes in handy. It's a great DI box too, and has pulled my backside out the fire a number of times now! It's one of those things to always keep in your gig bag! Mine is tatty with unoriginal knobs, BUT, is well maintained and cared for. It's been regularly cleaned and kept in good order with the odd squirt of servisol and polish. The tape will be removed before sale. £35 posted to uk only
10. I've only recently acquired this, but other purchases mean it needs to go to clear space. It's a late 70's Hondo Deluxe 734 SG with what I understand are original DiMarzio humbuckers. It's tatty and worn, as far as I can tell for one good reason, it plays and sounds amazing! I've gigged it myself in place of my fender. I tried it expecting it to be junk, but literally had to have it after only a few minutes playing. The action is fast and low, the neck comfy and the sound is spot on, smooth cleans with massive distortion tones. The tuners are a bit loose, but once in, hold tuning just fine. I'm selling this at £70 no offers, collection only from Cheltenham, or posted for £100 A true workhorse vintage gig machine that oozes cool. The inlays are adhesive and removable. 11.
What a coincidence, Gafbass, because I was in Cheltenham only two days ago (Sun) at a jazz jam session. Now, I usually get plenty of work in the jazz field but it was worth a 35 mile drive to get a sharpener of tunes I don't often play these days - bebop stuff by Hank Mobley, Clifford Brown and others. I was a member of the house rhythm section (p/b/d) and we were joined by two very good saxes and a couple of singers. All very well organised; the running order was put on a flip chart and charts handed round. In the middle four young guys from Bristol came in (Italians) and played a great set. It was good to hear my bass played by someone else.......and it sounded marvellous!
Sounds ace, I'm not involved In The local jazz scene at all, I'd love to be, but I'm a new discoverer of the genre, and as such gave no skills, knowledge, references or experience in playing it. I'd bloody love to though!
12. Thetrs a few open mic nights around here (Cheltenham) that had a nasty habit of turning into extended periods of a few guitarists endlessly noodling over whatever was being played, literally for hours at a time, bearing no relation to the style of music that was being attempted. Luckily lately things are turning more into a structured open mic where folks turn up, play what they want, ask others to sit in if they want, and then after a set number of tracks move aside for the next act. If there's time left at the end, a jam may happen, or not.
13. Thinking back, I've done a gig with brutal measles, the (proper) flu, (that was almost funny, first set 'I'm boiling I'm boiling', second set, 'I'm freezing, I'm freezing!', meningitis, a back so 'out' I was dosed off my face stood bolt upright in agony, migraines, last night I played with an eye infection and couldn't see a thing, went through three pairs of contact lenses to get through the night. (I'm the frontman too! Must've looked awful.
14.
They still do the money back trial period thing, so you'd only be out the cost of postage if it didn't work out for you....
I don't have the cash to buy in the first place though sadly.
15. I need this!!!! I'm not sure how! But I'm going to take a hard think about ways I could swing it. Do you know what the routing is like under the pick guard? Also if you split I will absolutely take the body.
16. Having previously been a supporter of barefaced, but not a fan of the cabs, I must say that this model, along with the heavy fairy making my bergantino cabs suddenly feel a lot heavier, is certainly giving me pause to thought. Sadly I'd have to sell my bergs to find out and then I'd be up the creek if I don't like it.
17.
Yes... We're warming up for The Egg at a party next w/e... should be a blast!
Small world, their bass player Fish was in my band before me, (Funkbomb) he still deps for me when I can't make a gig. Really Nice guy.
18. The good one in Leicester was probably quad studios.
19.
My upgraded rig: Tube preamp (DIY) into Peavey IPR 1600 into fEARful 15/6.
That jazz is giving me funny feelings, like when I used to climb the rope in gym class.
