1. That's why I like gorgomyte so much, No masking off, no mess, (apart from black fingertips) no liquids, job done.
2. Maybe. I owned a p5110c but had two fail on me. I'd still take the GK I reckon. That was its first run and I was rushed. Wish the head came out like the old promethean gear though. That was a great idea. That and the built in kickback handle. I might add one of those.
3. Had a crack at the mb112ii at sound check for a wedding last week. Room held maybe a hundred or so, no stage, only mic'd vocals, fairly respectable volume disco/funk covers, car wash, soul with a capital S etc. I ran it up to 12 o clock, slight eq tweak, slight low mid bump, punched in the contour and then compensated for the mid cut by boosting it back in and cutting the low a touch, it didn't sound distressed in anyway. Using it without the contour switch sounded pretty nasty and would require some fairly hefty knob tweaking. It Reminds me of my old barefaced midget T in terms of its natural tone, makes sense, a small 12" engineered to be capable of doing a job bigger than you'd think it could. Only it's a combo not a cab. Stood Next to the combo it was booming and deafening. Out in the room it disappeared rather quickly, lots of abrasive mid and no depth. It would do the job if required, but wouldn't sound amazing. But would certainly do the job; up to a reasonable volume. The ceiling was very high in this room. A standard small pub gig would probably be within its grasp. As an onstage monitor to a pa it would be an amazing little box. For filling a room solo, not so much. Hence i didn't gig it, I switched to my MoMark 800 into a single berg AE210 and at once the sound was deep, balanced, three dimensional and sounded the same anywhere in the room, even right in front of the cab. It was quite an eye opener in terms of exactly how good that cab is. I'll do a proper review thread once I've managed to use the GK a bit more.
4. I'd imagine (and its purely speculation) that you are employed by the ferry company and I'd expect there to be potential libility, insurance or health and safety implications for the ship company in the case of any sort of contract carrier of theirs involved in any sort of incident at all while under the influence, what with the unique working environment an' all. Be it a ship captain, chef, navigator type, cleaner or bass player. I'd imagine in the case of an incident they are aware that it would boil down to their name on the head of the contract Purely a guess though.
5. May well be. I've used it since 2005 on most of the 65+ basses ive owned and gigged. It's a slightly odd, stinky, moist feeling cloth, probably impregnated with some Brasso type stuff, it works well though. If it didn't I wouldn't have mentioned it Or used it since 2005 and recommend it to friends.
6.
That stuff seems almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder why it is not more widely known.
It was a bit of a one man operation. I think he has distribution through JHS now, but it's expensive. I always order direct from JJ.
7. Yep, I've used a pair of these on stands on stage as monitors for a while. They're just great.
8. It's all about gorgomyte. Amazing stuff. Brings up the frets to a mirror like finish. On a Warwick in Particular they look incredible. Give it a spin, I've sworn by it for years. http://gorgomyte.com/
9. I had one and was never that keen on the piezo sound. It was very bright and just sounded like a cheap electro acoustic bass to me. No mid and lots of string noise, it was also very loud and hard to control. Luckily the rest of the bass was awesome.
10. Great little cab that. Loved mine. My third rehearsal has now been cancelled, so still no chance to check out the GK mb112 yet :-/
11. I remember sitting glumly staring at the phone once, trying to pluck up the courage to leave a band I was in but really wished I wasn't. I took a deep breath and placed my hand on the phone when, it rang. It was the guitarist calling to say it wasn't working out!!! Couldn't believe my luck I think he was a bit taken aback at my relieved reaction
12. Thanks bud, Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking. I appreciate the amp is too powerful for the speakers, but i'll be aware of that while using it and tread carefully.
13. I've got a small mixer and I was wondering about the possibility if using it with my MoMark 800 bass head as a power amp to drive my pa. it's a pair of pvx12 peavey speakers, we just use for vocals at pub gigs. Doing it this way would save a lot of weight as I could leave my big peavey powered mixer amp at home. Any reason I shouldn't?
14. Looks cool. mine are from eBay, vinyls-direct-online. Yep sticker inlays too. Very good ones eBay seller jockomo81
15. Thanks. Two gigs in and I'm dead chuffed with it
16. Bellowhead and Mumford both make me want to chew my own face off. That's all.

18.
Hey! That's a guitar! You can't be in here with that! Get out!
Hahah. Soz!
19. I give mine the thumbs up
20. Just had my first c*ck up from roqsolid. Cover for an MB112-ii. Labelled as such Inside, but nothing like it?! Seems to be a cab cover? I await their response.
21. Nice one, ill post review ASAP. I owned a couple of P5110's and their extension cabs, sadly every single piece failed I wish I could pop the head on the GK. A post warranty mod perhaps
22. I concur, I'm a tweeter guy all the way, but on the mb112 I've had to considerably cut the highs, no problem with high end extension. If its as impressive at volume then this could be a seriously good buy!
23. I just got an mb112-ii. I'm a pretty much fully decided 12 hater, couldn't get along with any I've owned, I still very much found that 15's sounded 'fifteeny' and 12's sounded, well, 'twelvey'! Tens always had the punch and slam and mid sounds that I preferred without the need for much eq'ing. That included a Barefaced midgetT/compact set up among (many) others. But I have to say, that 'so far' the GK combo is the first time I've found a twelve that responds more like a ten to my ears. Very pleased so far, I bought it almost grudgingly out of nessecity (it was cheaper than the ten inch version!) But thus far I'm chuffed to bits. Expect a review once gigged!
