  1. Good condition, fully working, boxed with manual, no psu. £50 plus a few quid postage, uk only. cracking little box, this was a backup.
  2. Two soggy stages for ‘The Bridge’ yesterday. Gloucester Quays food festival and Cheltenham 7s rugby festival. Thankfully, both sets actually ended up being mostly played in the dry and people soon appeared for a dance and sing which was nice. ‘‘Twas a lovely day, with the shows being punctuated by a nice tapas lunch on expenses. Played my Ibanez soundgears on both sets, SR1200 on 1 and my salvage project SR500 on set 2, both just through IEMs. The PA system at Cheltenham 7s was really powerful with a great sound. Some radio 1 DJ was on after us and it made me chuckle that even on a stage that big, the DJ still seemed to have taken up all the space and plugs! Seemed a lot of kit for a memory stick! She wasn’t even mixing, just playing songs one after another like a ‘Now’ compilation 😂.
  3. It really is! I’m prepared to consider offers on this especially if it’s collected. I really am in a fix here. I know this is going to leave me out of pocket
  4. It really is lovely. The truss rod is fine, I have an Ibanez that’s exactly the same. I much prefer a stiff rod over a floppy one. 😳
  5. My misfortune could you be your fortune! I’ve literally only had this a couple of days, having bought it on a misguided whim from eBay (although I now realise it was a basschatter). It’s clearly stunning. I mean, just look at it!! It’s amazing!! However, in one of those ‘that’s life’ moments, my car has thrown up a few issues that need urgently sorting before I put my family in it for a long drive to our holiday. So this has to go straight back out the door! I’m not too gutted though, as I’m moving more towards more compact basses these days anyway and it’s so pretty I’d be a bit scared to ding this!! As you can see, it’s in super top condition, with Hipshot ultralight tuners, markbass preamp, babicz bridge and nordstrand pickups. Not to mention the custom knobs (spares and the originals are included, along with the toolkit and hang tags). Plus the beautiful, plush fitted case with embroidered logo. This is such a luxurious package!! It’s beautifully set up with a low action and is ready to go. It plays beautifully and sounds amazing - especially for slap. These pickups are fantastic!! The only negatives I can find are that the burl (and flamed!) top join could be tighter in a few spots and the truss rod is quite stiff (it’s fine, it works well and has plenty of movement it’s just a bit stiff, I think the bass is still quite new). It really is a total bargain of a boutique bass for not much cash. The price is £550 ONO and collection from Cheltenham is now the only way I’m afraid. EDIT: car now sorted. Bass still for sale. poss trade for Ibanez EHB/Ibanez SR/Sterling ray/try me. Fretted 4s only.
  6. It’s a nice position to be in The two of them had never actually met until last night, they swapped numbers and agreed to compile their own rota for shows from now on. We spent some time deciding on a collective noun for sound guys before setting for a ‘tangle’.
  7. Private function last night in a local venue we’re very familiar with. It was a tad odd though, cause our guitarist was away, so the engineer depped for him and our backup engineer took over FOH. The sound was odd all night, I was adjusting to a more compact board I’ve prepared in readiness for a couple of shleps/tight spots, and the room is like a giant toilet, so I was glad to be done tbh.
  8. For maximum healing effect I play it on guitar though I’m afraid
  9. Blinding lights - I play four notes, but the sound is a lot of fun
  10. Have ‘accidentally’ bought a(nother!) new bass, so really need this gone now!
  11. Solo acoustic gig last night at a venue I’ve not played since pre covid times. Apart from one gobby punter who seemed to be upset by the fact that I was getting attention not him, it was a cracking night
  12. Played a private birthday party do last night on a truck, in a barn, somewhere near Hereford I think! It wasn’t great, the crowd weren’t that bothered and the truck was so bouncy I was concentrating on not vomiting more than I was playing!! It was my first outing for my new bass, which is looking like a keeper (I always need the engineer’s FOH verdict before I commit - hence no NBD post yet). Here’s a video snippet but the bass is somewhat inaudible which is annoying, I’m sure it was ok in the room though. Tonight I’m off on my own for a solo gig in Wotton under Edge. 13. Decided to part with this amazing preamp pedal for literally no reason other than I really want to scratch the itch for a trace transit B and this will have to go to fund it!! This has very useful independent high and low pass filters, super musical EQ, all manner of handy switches and sockets and is a proper Swiss army pedal suitable for pretty much everything. Price is delivered in the UK. Or I’d swap for a transit B.

Yet another set of pickups and electronics. The white looks a little bright compared to the rest of the bass, but they sound fantastic.
  15. Definitely. There’s fun to be found just from the sheer act of playing and performing. I’ve done it several times, I was in a classic rock band for a few years, existing in a world I know nothing of and didn’t care for, being introduced to supposedly famous names that I’d never heard of. It was ace fun. Same thing happened shortly afterwards with a metal band too. You only live once
  16. I had a Wesley in for a set up a few years back. Weighed a ton and was a bit of a dog if Im honest.
  17. Same, they made my excellent IEM/guitar combo cable. Absolutely superb.
  18. It’s stacked vols, stacked treble/bass and tone that pulls up for passive and works in both modes
  19. Thanks I’ve also discovered that it takes regular gauge strings just fine
  20. Two for me, both without our engineer, which sucked. We got by and both gigs were… fine! Not much to report. Just, fine
  21. East preamp, fully working, no drama. Fab sounding preamp that really does preserve the natural tone of your bass and then add bass and treble controls. You even get to keep the tone control and passive mode. NOTE! the pic shows the preamp attached to my somewhat ‘grungy’ control plate! This is not for sale! You will receive the preamp attached back onto its own lovely shiny plate. (The shiny newness looked out of place on my beat up old jazz so I swapped it over!) £100 posted to uk only
  22. Pretty straightforward. One pair of Seymour Duncan quarter pounder jazz bass pickups in good condition with plenty of wire. Lots online about these, a real fave of mine, a lovely fat tone with lots of grunt. £100 posted to uk only. Ono
