1. No way, I've had em for years, quite tatty too but still going. Like anything I guess
2. Dont worry mate, they really aren't as fragile as they make out
3. Wish I still had the Geddy.
4. Another HUGE recommendation for these strings from me. I've used them for years with no complaints and found I prefer them to branded roto's. They seem to last longer! Wish they weren't quite so long, although they have got shorter than they were. Very classy indeed for the price, and I've used them on some VERY big stages. When I can't afford elixirs these are my next choice.
5. Keeper: End of :-D
6. Glad i saw this, ive been meaning to check her out for ages, a trip to the local cd store is in order, So where should I be starting to dip in for maximum funkage? Any to avoid?
7. I had the Jonny Brooke. Good bass but nothing standard. If anyone wants my sonic blue sue Ryder and can pick it up from Cheltenham I'm quite happy to part with it,(for less than £150 lol!) I took a peek and bought one, It's fantastic, I'm happy to keep it, but it'll never leave the bedroom and I know me, I'll never get round to mods lol. Pm if you want it. It's not 'for sale' as it were, but I've got one I wont use, in the spirit of Basschat, if there's disappointed people out there that really wanted one and missed out then it's silly me just sitting on it, I'll pass the karma on and let it go at a loss with the blocks. (not the stripes though;) Let's be VERY clear, it's the one in the MIDDLE!!!
8. What he said. Aurora project. Already I'm looking at my sue Ryder thinking, hmmm, looks great but without a bridge pickup I just cant play the damn thing! Did it again lol!
9. thats great, i just wish i liked em ah well
10. While were talking tanglewood I thought I'd randomly post this. It's a 'bassmaster funk' I think made by tanglewood. I've changed the hardware for gold and added the adhesive 'inlays' but it's an awesome bass. I've kept it for about 15 years. As you were.
11. done that so many times on the warmoth site. Hovered over the buy button before realising exactly how much it was gonna cost all in!
12. Hah hah. Ace :-D it's pretty fat in all dimensions. My penis I mean And the neck
13. My tone pot works brilliantly, and they have a really solid feel with a positive action. For me the downside (other than it's a P lol) is the neck is huge, and the fingerboard very flat. But utterly cool nonetheless.
14. Great condition. Very very little use. Boxed. £35 posted
15. I think the blocks were from creative-cuts or something like that.
16. Welcome back mate, lush pics :-D
17.
Blocks?? How? Oh god. A white one just became even harder to resist.
Adhesive ones from eBay
18. I'm sure you can, I just find it sounds very 'twelvey' no matter what I do lol.
19. I've thought that actually! Now with locks 'n blocks
20. Very quick iPhone snap
21. Mine came, I've had about five minutes with it and it seems excellent. It responded well to a quick slackening of the rod and now has a good low action, I stuck on a left over competition stripe, hoping to have a closer look in a bit once the nipper drops off. But initial impression is very very impressed. As long as the neck holds out!
22. How funny. I was going to start the exact same thread yesterday afternoon but got sidetracked?!!? WTF is that all about. ?! Musta been something on tv or something subliminal :0)
23. Sorry. That wasn't my clearest post lol. iPhone typing :-/ I find the midget t sounds too traditional for me. It's hard to explain. It's a stunning bit of kit, I think it might be more the 12" driver tbh. It somehow makes my jazz basses played over the bridge pickup have some of the qualities I associate with the looser strung tension and 'plunk' of a presicion played over the pickup. Bizarre I know?! And I'm sure it's just me! It's extraordinarily responsive to pickup changes. Backing one or the other off really changes the sound and boosts the volume. I find I rill the neck off much more when using the midget. It's a crazy little box!
