1. On hold until further notice
2. And replied, desk is on hold until further notice.
3. W Audio stereo power amp for sale. This has been a backup amp for me and has been used sparingly on monitors and occasionally to power the tops in one of my P.As Equally useful with a bass pre amp. I don't need it anymore. £60 picked up,prob can post for £10 Now reduced to £50.
4. I have for sale a good condition behringer digital mixing desk. For the fine detail you can google the spec but here's a few bullet points: 12 mic pre inputs 4 line inputs 4 dedicated monitor auxes with 4 jack outputs 4 dedicated FX auxes with 4 dedicated FX inc reverbs delays etc 4 band parametric EQ on all inputs and outputs inc stereo out. Gates and compressors on all inputs and aux outs . Midi control of most functions E.g I used my GT6 rocker pedal to turn the rev up or down. Save and recall all settings. That's standard spec, but this desk has an ADAT card fitted which gives you 16 in and out which you can use with the optional ADA 800 pre amps. I also used it to record and playback 16 tracks from Cubase via an RME adat PCI card which I also have for sale. The cons are the desk had a bad rep because the capacitors used to sh*t themselves and it was quite an expensive fix, but LO! I only bought this desk because all the capacitors had been professionally upgraded and it hasn't missed a beat in over 60 gigs. I drove to Cardiff and back in a day because I wanted this desk. For the spec, there's nothing that can match it, for the price the nearest competitor is the yamaha 01v which has less EQ per chan, less aux and less expandability. There are lots of cheeky routing options that mean you can rout your auxes back through some input chans and set the EQ and compressors on all your monitor outs. There are 4 jack outs and a stereo xlr out With the optional 8 chan ADA preamp you get 8 extra ins and 8 extra outputs so you can route All auxes as monitor outs pre or post fade, or just use 6 and keep two for FX. No other desk at this price has so many Auxes to play with. Very versatile desk. It's rack mounted and I have the rack ears and the original box,a couple of light pipe optical cables and a load of tips and tweaks for this desk. If you have an ipad I'd be delighted to show you how you can control volume and pan via wifi. I'll post some pics tomorrow for those who want to see the actual thing in the flesh. It has some scratches etc, but overall in very good condition. I'm selling because I recently upgraded to a Soundcraft SI and this has to help pay for it, otherwise I'd keep it as a backup desk. I'm going to give it a few days on BC before the dreaded tbay. Any questions or queries or test drives welcome.
5. I have for sale a four string OLP in Champagne with a Seymour Duncan pickup upgrade. It plays and sounds great but has a rather large ding on the underside where the previous owner got a little frustrated with that Muse bassline. Never bothered me as you can't see it and it's a working/gigging bass. Fitted with DR strings(can't remember which but they are medium),decent neck and plays well. Surplus to requirements and I need cash to fuel my P.A drive. £130 posted or can pickup/meet in the Northwest.
6. Bitsa P for me.80s Hohner body bought some 80s pickups and a nicer neck but it still isn't worth £150. Done at least 50 gigs no prob and sounds fine. Recently I've been using a SUB, very cheap, sounds great, nobody in the audience gives a toss but me and the drummer love the sound.
7. Yep,remember what it is you want.,which is to pick up that high end detail and fizz, that you reckon the D.I sounds a little flat on. However.. For me, I'd go for the 602 just because of its versatility in being able to mic kicks and so on,but the 609 may be a little cheaper.
8. Can of worms! I like large diaphragm mics like shure beta 52 or sennheiser e602. But. If you're looking to just catch top end distortion etc then a shure sm57 or sennheiser e609 will be fine.
9. Andy, apologies if my reply seemed flippant, but, you've had a few good replies all suggesting that what you propose isn't worth doing. However,if you really want to present your stage sound through a mic into a cheap mixer then off to the P.A the go for it. After many years micing and D.Iing bass cabs for clients I can honestly say I get 90%of what we all need from the D.I regardless of the quality of the bass amp and cab. I think most bassists working larger stages accept their sound will be altered to fit the mix in what particular context the band are appearing. (As are guitar amps despite what you think),and that their personal backline will not be heard by the audience. If you sincerely believe your backline tone is that good, then go for it. MM
10. These are really great basses, skinny neck and amazing tone from the pre amp. Mine sits in the mix like brandy in a trifle!
11. MM at a great price would be a SUB
12. Go ahead, you know best.
13.
I give up.
Me too, after all, if you spent that much, you have to use it right?
14. IMO D.Id basses and D.Id guitars are nothing at all alike. But, if you feel your cab adds to your tone, then go for the mic thang. I don't agree that your cab, with a mic, can provide tonal differences in your venue derived sound that can't be achieved via easier methods, ie a sansamp or similar. Good luck.
15. This is IMO just another "I don't trust the engineer with my finely crafted delicate bass tone.man" Unless you have your own engineer with whom you can explore bass tones and their context, ie your band, you are going to have to trust the house engineer until you do. You can help out buy providing a good di tone, for example a sansamp or similar with your tone set up already on it, rather than rely on the houses ancient behringer d.is,or take your feed from your head post EQ ( not something I'd recommend as the EQ you use for your speaker cab will almost certainly not suit the P.A requirements). If you really want a mic, ask for a mic, but dont be surprised if you don't get it, as unless you have a very specific cab tone (yes of course you have don't you?) it will be widely regarded as a luxury by hard pressed engineers. Pre mixing a mic and a DI into a cheap noisy behringer £40 mixer completely defeats the point of trying to get a better tone to the P.A. All IMO of course.
16. Be aware that many brands exaggerate output watts to give the impression of more power. In this case they suggest 200 watts rms at 8ohms which even if true, is probably a little low. If they are out by 50 watts a side in real terms you'll end up with a 300 watt p.a,which is probably less than your bass amp, right? You need to spend more to get something useable in my opinion, of course. I would also suggest you buy a separate amp and mixer, to avoid losing both should one fail.
17. Ditto above, bought second hand on this forum, and apart from a slightly noisy D.I output, it's been rock solid through many rehearsals and live shows with a variety of difference ohmage cabs.
18. Some serious tones from the SUB also and you get the Jazz width neck too.
19.
it's in a wee plastic bottle, with a screw lid. It's called epic ride. I don't know about your judgement but it will make your bike ride better so you can get to wherever you're going quicker- derangement and speed.
A lube called "epic ride"? This topic is on the wrong forum. As to the Asterix books, do you have Asterix does Britain featuring the British king Mykingdomforonos? Might advance a Pratchet or two against that and throw in so e old viz mags for one of the extra Barefaceds you're going to have.
20. Whatever..
21. Beautiful. I wonder when it'll get collected by the Rum guzzler?
22. The television.
23. Just bought jacks T amp and had a wonderful chat and meal with him in London. Thanks for the amp jack!
24. +1 for turning the patches down, rather than the main output.
25. Set up as at a gig.
