1. Last of 3 in a row. Thurs Chester wedding was great, good crowd, venue had a seperate area to shunt them out into so we could do our soundcheck thang, and we played well, and kept them dancing. Had a slight disagreement about what key Valerie is in.... Flats+Thumper P was great even through a Fender bassman 250 I was trying out. Frid, Cheadle Hotel, awful min box stage full of catering equipment which an officious hotel prick said couldn`t be moved, so we moved it ourselves. Still very tight though and the guests weren`t interested and ended up fighting outside I couldn`t use my P because I fecked the circuit somehow changing P/guard. Sat Abbeywood estate wedding, Delamere, conservatory type arrangement, seperate room for guests so great soundcheck. Prob best gig with this band ever,34 tunes, full dancefloor, semi restored P (replaced vol pot). Still don`t like the Fender combi, may sell on. Got 2 miles from base when van died, due to idiot putting £10 of petrol in...(me) Ah well.
2. Flattened me bastard battery trying to get rid of the bloody stuff.. The rum helps..
3. Hi, I`d love this sofa! I`m having a bit of a petrol in a diesel van type moment though and I may not be able to pick up for a few days,so if anyone else can shift it first then fair play. If not, I`ll have it!
4. Hello all, I huureidly switched pickguards on my P bass yesterday, quickly checked I was getting signal on headphones at home, and went to my gig. Turned out I was only getting full volume when the tone pot was fully open. The moment I rolled the tone off, the volume went down to half. Now, I had a look at the old guard, and noted it doesn`t have any screening material where the pots fix, whereas the replacement guard does. Could this be shorting my circuit out? I`m off for an hour to my reg room to try and sort it before the gig, but any advice is welcome. The bass worked perfectly before swapping PGs,but the Tort ,just wasn`t JJ enough for me.. >Idiot
5. Just did a gig using some Chromes bought here, and I loved it. Loads more top end than I would have thought, nice snap on those slapped bits, pickwork came through the mix easily, very woody deep tone (with a Wizard thumper)and very friendly on the fingers. Other band members approved. Then I went and fecked it up for last nights gig by fitting a different pickguard which seems to be shorting out my tone circuit so I ended up using my Jazz with new DR Hi beams on.. Bit of a shock to the fingers and ears again! Flats for me. It`s going to be interesting seeing how they settle down.If they stay cool, I`ll fit them to the jazz also.
6. Owdoo. Hondos are cool! Welcome.
7. Very Nice Mr Discreet. You almost make me feel like trying it myself! Is that Marshall pattern Tolex you used?
8. I have one of these and am completely happy with it. It compares well with my SVP pro It fits very nicely into the small size pelicase. Which is nice. Bargain Bump.

11.
Otherwise a y-splitter lead from single mono jack to twin will probably work, depending on input/output impedances involved and the output level/input sensitivity of your particular equipment
This.

16. Hi Neil, I`d reccomend the Behringer Xenyx 502 http://www.studiospares.com/mixers-analogue/behringer-xenyx-502/invt/380760/?source=215_73&gclid=CLCSrOfe4bACFUdItAodNglPuw Perfect for your needs. How to connect: Use a Stereo Minijack to 1/4 inch full sized Jack cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stagg-3-metre-stereo-minijack-to-2-x-mono-jack-cable-/270985793488?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3f18030fd0#ht_4608wt_885 To connect your blue(line out)socket to one of the stereo inputs,(2&3 or 4&5). Plug your bass directly into chan 1 line input Or take the output of any pedal you are using and plug that in. If you have a pedal or D.I with an XLR socket, you can connect that to Chan 1 MIC input with a short balanced XLR cable. Headphones in headphones socket, play itunes etc on PC and adjust level, play bass and adjust, tweak volume on main output and headphones level. Should cost app £50.00 all in
17.
In one of the cover bands I play I do all the sound and mic everything, so I usually get the brunt if something doesn't sound right. But this is due to them being uncomfortable doing a sound-check and then wonder why everything doesn't sound right. Even a chorus makes all the difference.
I honestly really do not get musicians who watch a fellow band member spend all that extra time setting up a P.A with care and attention for their benefit, who then can`t be arsed to do even a minimal soundcheck, because they "feel uncomfortable". And then have the temerity to criticise the results. dickheads all. They`d rather spend the night sounding sh*t than play a song before the show. I had the same response from my lot when I joined and it`s really very simple. No soundcheck, no setup. They can do it themselves while I play with my nice shiny basses. I only had to do this once, refused utterly to attend to the PA and got repeated questions from the singer throughout the show, "is my vocal loud enough? I can`t hear it too well..." I just shrugged and said how am I supposed to know? Now we do proper soundchecks. I urge you to consider similar actions. No nasties, just state that without a proper check you can guess the sound no better than they, so they may as well do it themselves. Rant over /
18. Please don`t buy a PG mic. The PG stands for Pure Garbage. They are Shures cheapest and nastiestest sounding range. The PE is almost as bad and yes the impedance dictates it`s output. Buy cheap, buy twice...
19. Mine are gone too! I think these are the ones you need, and are about 20mm http://www.fliptops....er-medium-4pcs. There are plenty of generics on ebay, and if you get a slightly taller set, your cab will tilt back, which can only be a good thing, so I`d go for 30mm personally.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Rubber-Foot-Grille-Stand-Off-amplifier-4-/250868626141?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item3a68ef72dd#ht_623wt_885 Failing that, try sticking a few bits of wood or a book under the front till you think it looks right, and measure the depth of that.
