1.
£4.99 for unlimited access to millions of songs every month is great. It was awesome whilst it was free but it wasn't gonna stay that way forever.
We use Spotify a lot, every day, for new releases and old tracks to learn etc. Youtube doesn`t cut it, no LPs, often crap sound quality, too much time browsing the scum. The PC (upstairs) is cabled to our flat screen and hi-fi (downstairs), so it really is a useable setup, and becoming fond of tracks on Spotify means we want to own the stuff so our annual music spend has shot up, which is good for the artists. So we`ll be paying the £1.25 a week for tens of thousands of tunes=Bargain. MM
2. wtf? was just discussing going to see them live for their promo of the cd. A calamity.
3. Agreed a little on the bish bash bosh, it`s a trap every covers band falls into, (speaking from personal experience) that they think the audience will fall asleep if they aren`t rocking out all the time. Bit of light and shade makes the rocking tracks stand out and the lighter songs give the punters a rest from you demanding their full attention. Your singer has a fine voice but as has been mentioned, she`s in her comfort zone.Try moving the keys around a bit to avoid that monotone set. One thing though, I`ve never seen a band with the female singer wearing a jumper/sweatshirt and slacks...Not suggesting split up the side skirt and bodice but she`s not really made the effort there eh? Good luck and may the gigs keep coming. MM
4. Get a stand with a pivoting arm setup, this will accomodate the Jazz arse. Tripod Stand Not as compact as the A frames, but they`ll pack away in a gig bag.
5. Simplest option would be to put your whole pedal board in line, and not in the send/return loop. Then the d.i will catch it all. Eq will still be switchable pre/post.
6. They aint wedge monitor shaped, but with a bit of wood and a plan you could easily make tilted cradles for them. Make nice side or infills.
7. Yes they are potted or yes you can do that?
8. Been flying to festivals with several guitars/kit bags for about 15 years, Gator/skb cases mainly and not one damaged guitar. Did watch the lifting staff at manch airport watch a small flightcase roll up to the end of their conveyor and just fall to the ground. When we pulled him about the treatment he covered his name badge and legged it. MM
9. Agreed on the stereo. Bit of a waste in most rooms as all you are doing is panning something away from half the audience. MM
10. Hiya. How much Valve do you run? My ABM500 evo valve went recently and the vol dropped massively till I turned the drive right off, then the volume returned. Also, maybe check the amp via the D.I into another amp, see if the pre-amp section is ok, may be your output stage is kaput. MM
11. I know you mention "any offers" but putting a price to negotiate from may well work better. MM
12. Nice cab, but too rich for my blood. When were you thinking of selling on the Ashdown stuff? I could do with a 2x12 cab to add a little edge to my 115
13. I`ve used an LD IEM set, used it for comms at a gig. Seemed well built enough and had a decent range. Dunno what they cost. I think you can take the L+R signals,(l=BASS, r= KEYS) stick the unit in Mono and use the pan control to blend the two. least that`s what the Shures do. Anything more fancy and you`ll need a micro mixer like a spirit notepad, could stick guitar and vox in as well. or just kick drum clik. etc I think more and more players are taking this route as it`s gotten a lot cheaper to do, and people want to protect their ears more. MM
14. Burn him! Burn the heretic!! Well put.
15. You can get/make passive splitters to double your di out (1xfemale to 2x male xlr) OR, Just ask the P.A tech to use one of his own D.Is. Whenever I stick a bass in the house I always use a separate D.I anyway, One because it has an earth lift and a pad, and is pre amp EQ which may not suit the house (shock horror) And two because when the guitarist/drummer/pissed/fan falls over and pulls your mains feed out,or your amp blows up, you still have bass in the house. Are you going to be using a small mixer like a Folio to mix a few channels into your stereo ears, or are you going to set it mono and use the blend function to alter your bass/mix blend?
16. Ta, it all helps. MM
17. Hi, OS, yes it does indeed have a Romberg bevel. What info do you have on your Bass?
18. "And it's a Bass...no talent required to start jamming that bisnatch into the stratosphere! become a legend over night...Do it! I`m sure I remember buying a bass off him for precisely this reason..
19. PMd Might be nice on the Dub machine and the Jazz.
20. Yep, tallies with my thinking. The cab sounds pretty good, but...I`m going to chuck a couple of others in and see if they sound better. Apparently the original blue jobs were made in Italy, and aren`t all that well received so no biggy. Ta for the reply. MM
21. Thanks for the reply, nice crepes and drape! More pics would be fantastic, I`m fairly convinced I have the same model as you. One question, in the other thread the general vibe seemed to be that Framus had the bass & globe label, yet mine has no label, and it seems neither did yours? Ta, MM
22. Thanks Phil!
23. Paul that`s one nice looking bass! Bob, any chance of a pic of your Framus? MM
