Used! :) and roughly!

ive been searching all over the net, SD do one... but i can seam to find anywhere to buy it! Thing is i want to keep the origina gibson sound :)

  2. dong get me wrong, i love my fenders...

but. everyone i have met owning a US made fender, (including guitars) of which is older than a few years has terribly worn frets!

now, i had a music man SUB taht i played the sh*t out of for 4 years solid. stainless roto's; and no fret wear what so ever.
also i have an old jaguar import, 1996. no fret wear!
yet my US jazz which has has a very easy life, has started to show ageing in the frets.

a few guitarist i know have has the same problem, really badly worn frets on there strats and teles'

so fender... why? any one els had this problem. or is it that all Pompey fender owning musicians play with a very heavy hand.

Its the best playing bass that I have owned and although the sound maybe isnt as refined or 'hi-fi' as the higher end section of basses. However this all adds to the amazing voice this bass has.

I nearly sold/traded it a few times but always stayed with it. Im very glad I have.

My Ric on the other hand...............MAKE ME AN OFFER :)
I also love my jag, its the worlds fastest bass to play. really unrefined, bad electronics, odd design. completely love'able.

  4.
go to stringsdirect and try their Legacy strings, used to be about £7 a set, and they were every bit as good as rotosounds. Make of that what you will :)
There made in the rotosound factory :) (there was a rotosound QC card in a legacy box)

  5. I tried some 'alice' strings, they are made in china and "are brilliant for music lovers and enthusiasts" ha
they didn't really feel good, and made my USA HW1 not sound as good as it could!

Has any one used some cheepo strings that are good?
i always feel more inspired to play when i have fresh sounding wire.

  7.
Don't like the idea of posting?
Not so much at the moment!, selling two bases on eBay at the moment, so ill be posting loads of basses, including the music man ive just swapped.
i'm only suggesting the trade as i not yet attached to the stingray yet! and don't mind a swap plus like black.
    What year is yours?

  8.
No mate, why do I sound like a sailor? From Cardiff.

As I am sure you know there is still some debate as to what you gain with the extra EQ though.
If you where down in Portsmouth or anywhere near ide happily swap, i really like black and it would match my rickenbacker! hehe
(mine is an mintish condition natural with the Birdseye neck)

  9.
Ha!Ha! But not for me mate. In a past life I was a carpenter, and for me paint kills the unique look of wood. All painted basses look the same, but there are never two grains the same, rather like snowflakes.
Very good point!, If it were a 3EQ i would swap with you, (i happen to have a natural stingray with black pick guard).
ide really miss the extra 3rd band. :/ are you far from Portsmouth?
