12.
I disagree that there's no such thing as a better compressor, compressors should be inaudible while they do their job, bad compressors always sound very obvious whereas a good one will be more subtle. You could argue that some people want to use their compressor as an effect rather than for it's intended purpose but that's a whole different ball game. Also saying that a compressor is an automated volume knob is vastly over simplifying. The way that it interacts with frequencies, especially on multi band compressors, can be very versatile, not to mention the attack and threshold controls. It does work by changing your volumes, but the way they do it means it's not that simple.
I know what I'm talking about. Ive studied music production for two years and work on logic all day everyday. I also know what a multiple band compresser is. I wanted to share some insight in a simply way Cheers
 13. A compressor is an automated volume knob. Dynamic processor. Buy one and have a play. make sure it has ratio threshold attack release and gain. The one knob compressors are all those variants being moved around in an algorithm, worked out by the manufacture. At the end of the day too there's no such this as a better comp unit, only different (okay some may be unusable due to being poorly made etc). They have different circuitry's that leave there own unique Mark on the processed sound. in essence a compressor is just an automated volume control, adjusted by the parameters which are veritable on the signal they receive. And different makes effect sound by adding subtle harmonics. (not the bass harmonics or music theory) the "physics" kinda harmonics. Cheers!

 16.
Sweeet.. very cool mate.. the maple neck certainly adds some edge to the jazz bass tone.. more the gloss than the maple IMO though.. is that Inca silver or Firemist? or neither.. got to be inca being an S1..?
Thanks man! i like how the maple has aged a bit too, give a little bit of a played in look. i have no idea on what colour it is!, underneath the bridge its certainly a lot lighter than the rest of the body, so the colour has darkened alot over the years!, i always thought it was blizzerd pearl, or the same finish under a diff name, who knows!, if anyone on hear does know id appreciate the insight! it used to have a black Scratch plate also

 19. Love Gibson basses!, really awesome, great price too!
 20. any love for rickys?
 21. Oh, ive got the Cloth and pickup cover too! it can be put on by request, but you'd be mad to put it back on!!! haha
 22. They are very comfy to play must say! i think with all its sound options it offers, you don't get the 'distinct one sound' (like a stingray etc). although when you hit them hard they do start sounding musicmany... But, i can say there very fun to play! and S/H you can get them so cheap! Lots of bass per £...
 23.
Ditto Edit: Looking at OP's sig - you're not making the same mistake again are you?! - buying something you've already got...
I'm preferably looking for a rosewood necked jazz
