1. tell her you're having a gay affair just before you tell you bought the bass....I'm sure she wont care about the bass..!
2. so I was about to give a total beginner James his first lesson on bass. A very nerdy weak and weedy looking kid, I wasn't sure he could even get those small hands to reach any of the strings. So.... lesson one: I taught him the E string, just up to the 3rd fret. open = E 1st fret = F 2nd fret = F# or Gb ( my my, that took at lot of explaining) 3rd Fret = G come back in two days for the next lesson........... Lesson two ok... the A string open = A 1st fret = A# or Bb ( here we go again) 2nd fret = B 3rd Fret = C come back in two days for the next lesson........... lesson three ok... the D string open = D 1st fret = D# or Eb ( ah,.got it!) 2nd fret = E 3rd Fret = F come back in two days for the next lesson........... 2 days later no James no call, no contact... getting worried now....hope he's ok....sick maybe...lost ...kidnapped....??? 3 weeks later he shows up...looking terrible...wasted...older...less nerdy "where have you been?" "oh sorry I didn't get in touch, I've been on tour"

4. although I generally love the sound most of the combinations in this set up I find myself using the standard JB or just the MM. Being a big fan of Sly Stone and Larry Graham i love the JB p'ups full on for funk vibe and the stingray for general finger style comping. Both classic, distinctive great sounds, and to have them both at the flick of a switch is quite a thing. All the other combos are great for recording and playing around with but you can't beat the obvious classics ...IMO
5.
Love the sound of the front Jazz pup with the MM! Do you think the Barts are more sensitive to string to pup gap (the A being furthest away than the other strings)?
i've played with that option - raised the others deliberately high and the A is not still good. The Ernie Ball sound fairly solid whatever I do. the Bartolini people are still not answering - it's almost a week now. I'll be writing some damning reviews all over the net soon if they dont respond...grrrrr
6. i've installed the Bartolini jazz pickups in there now (as per youtube vid). While the sound is right up there the A string disappears, it's at least half the volume of the other strings. This doesn't happen with the MM p'up switched in and did not happen with the stocks. Anyone else had this problem with the Barts on a five string? I've contacted Bartolini via an email and waiting for a response ( 3 days waiting ) I'll keep you posted
7. bump - its still available
8. Sold my ME20B boss multi pedal to Paul. The whole thing was a terrible nightmare. Awful Hated every minute of it. To see it go broke my heart, but at least it went to a really good bloke. Good coms and payed me up front without hesitation. Thoroughly recommend dealing with this guy if you can cope with parting any gear you've learned to love!! trade here with confidence!!
9. i'll throw in a real leather strap too...it's got red chile peppers print on it - actual peppers not the band
10.
Ruddy tempting, I don't mind telling you.
not tempting enough it seems...
11. price drop (sort of)...forget the case and 'av it for £110
12.
I reckon around 15 years old.
is that good or bad?
13.
Sounds good, do you know how old it is please?
no I don't know its age but i can't see this model on sale anywhere online, only similar basses with soapbar p'ups. Prbably a discontinued model but still looks new-ish if the serial helps: C01048*** made in Korea.
14.
If I remember correctly, it's vol, vol, tone, bass boost - but I'm sure Shonks will be along to confirm/correct!
it is active! it is volume/volume and the tone controls: i thought was just a weird 2 band eq but now you come to mention it i think you're right on the button (excuse the pun). It seems to be an overall tone control and bass boost - it all suddenly makes sense to me now! lol very cool sounding bass, and thanks to Cosmo' now very controllable.. With the reversed precision pickup, quite a unique sound oh, and I'm in Westcliff on Sea near Southend on Sea
15. £110 without the case - owzat? lightweight bass 34" scale fast double octave neck P/J configuration (the split pickup is reversed to a Fender) comes with a lightweight flight case also in good nick excellent condition with no obvious blemishes. Pictures show only reflections
16. good condition 100 watt - 200 watt peak combo 12" driver famous trace sound cons - also the famous Trace Elliot buzz - not bad: all my trace amps do it: GP7, SMX (could be the power supply at home though) very handy for small gigs and practice sessions will trade!
17. price drop - £140 - trades considered also
18. it's selling on Ebay and will be gone by tomorrow afternoon - last chance to intercept, or join in the auction! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131185815793?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
19. normal 9v DC required or 6 x AA batteries - not included comes in original box with a partial manual full manual download here:http://www.roland.co...anuals&p=ME-20B I have two of these and not enough money so I'm selling one. tuner; volume pedal; compressor; octavider; chorus : is how i use it. It performs all these functions magnificently, however, it does a lot more useful stuff like: 4 band EQ, wah wah, flanger, filter, distortion, overdrive, and a few silly things too like: synth, and synthetic fretless, echo, reverb etc quite handy for silent practice as it has an Aux in for mp3 players etc and a headphone socket. pickup - Southend on Sea (generic pic)
20. sounded awesome with my Hartke 3500 - very much like the Marcus Miller sound. As much, if not more bottom end than my Warwick 211 2x10 - (not sure what drivers are in there, but I suspect Eminence again) If you're looking for a big fat dubby sound then these probably aren't right for you unless they're used in conjunction with another cab, something like a 1x15, which is quite a common setup, as in my pics. However, having said that, these had enough bottom to handle a 50's/60's/70's covers band with ease as they had so much headroom - i'm saying all this from my hard earned experience but I'm no tech. You're more than welcome to come over and try the cab without obligation !
21.
how many weighs is it?
not sure how heavy but it's not as heavy as my 32kg trace combo and not a light as my Warwick 2x10 about 15kg ...so a rough guess, 20kg maybe
