1. so....we're all agreed. It's a fake! Let hope the buyer isn't a BCer and doesn't try and sell here - I've seen BCers on the this site flogged for a lot less
 2.
If the scenario were real, I would suspect that the "landlord" were labouring under the belief that he had a right to retention of property until the debt owing by the "tenant" were satisfied. However, that's not the case, and it's why any contract of letting will have a requirement for a sum in money to be held as a security bond, against such an event as non-payment. As suggested, the acting of the "landlord" is not theft, as he has not formed the intention to personally deprive the owner of the property of that property, but he has deprived the owner of the use of the property, and could be made subject to a claim in damages for so acting. And, given that the landlord has no right in title to pass, the property could be recovered from any buyer. The buyer would, in such circumstances, have a right to bring an action in damages against the seller (the landlord). But, it's all cock and bull. That bass was made yesterday, somewhere in the Far East.
I rest my case m'lud!
 3.
Agreed, he is a thieving prick.
ooh er misses....
 4.
It's not a Highway 1 and I doubt it's even a fender. This is a Highway 1 http://www.infograph...isionHBR_md.jpg The fact that the bass doesn't even belong to the seller hasn't put people off has it? Sitting at 17 bids now.
actually, I don't buy the lodger story at all. Its a ruse to sell a fake bass. Some sucker thinks he's getting the deal of a lifetime but just buying a very expensive fake. The 'landlord' doesn't have to be responsible for a Fender rip off - no lodger's gonna turn up!! Thinks about it...who's forget their Fender bass when doing a runner?....l it's probably a 'Vintage Precision'
 5. mind you - disregarding the morals involved here - what is this bass?.....
 6.
But the seller is trying to sell someone else' property. Isn't that the same thing?
def
 7. if its real, then the lodger better have owed a lot of back rent - whats a 1966 P worth in that condition £2000 + ? Seen just the plates go for over £100
 8.
It clearly states that it has been stolen from a lodger who owes money. The lodger does not owe the seller a bass guitar and I would hope that this is not legal.
i reckon your completely right. But I was just wondering about the bass itself.
 9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150852788943?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_520wt_1130 thought it might be a Highway One but the string tree is in the wrong place. Its a 66/67 serial I think. the neck plate looks real - bit it's the only thing that does...
 10.
Hello folks I know it's not German but it is a great sounding active $$ for a great price. Check it out at:
hijacking someone else's post to flog your own bass seems a bit out of order to me

 19.
It looks proper. What do the Bartolinis have over the stock items or say Seymour Duncans?
well, before it sounded pretty amazing but now it's absolutely incredibly amazing. More growl, slightly hotter, but still vintage ....kinda.. oh yeah....and looks way cooler too...
 20.
Imagine he is referring to the length of time it has taken to sell such a quality instrument.
I nearly bought this....and at one point I actually thought England had a chance!...
 21. congratulations!! this sale was worse that watching England play!
 22. happy to dep etc - cant commit - I'm in Westcliff
 23.
Nice bass aswel not sure if ill get on with the extra j pickup though.
turn it off and your back to a regular P. Its always there for recording etc. It's more power to your P
 24. like to see some headstock pix.....I'm flogging a P bass on here...this is an interesting instrument but I'm not sure...
 25. BTW - boxes are easy to get hold in my experience. Local music shops selling guitars are more than happy to give you a box designed specifically shipping guitars. They rather give it away than have to waste time breaking them down for rubbish collection.
