The bass only needs 1 x 9volt to play like most other active basses, but the lights need 3 x 9volt batteries. Not sure how long continuous use lasts but the switch on the front of the bass turn em on and off, and you obviously don't need them that often. Even on a gig, if you in a dark moment just switch em on - brill!!

I'm all bassed up so got I've got no preferences particularly: this is above and beyond my needs so I'm entirely open about it.
