3. which one is this?....the new one looks completely different to the older black one, and there's the beige which is different again. At least in the cosmetics..lol All share the same name though..
4. John East deluxe has a passive tone control which affects the active circuit too. in other words, in active you can still wipe down some of the highs taking the modern edge off it. I like the modern edge too by the way, but getting a modern scooped tone then just smoothing it a touch with the passive control....beautiful My JB with the deluxe in passive mode behaves exactly as a passive jazz should....I love having all the options available on one bass and can't recommend it highly enough.!!!

7. Selling this is a bit cheaper than usual because the drum machine part of it has gone a bit loopy - pun intended Everything works normally - 3 hours record time - 99 memories - overdub..etc The drum machine part of it which is crap anyway gives you 10 drum loops to play along to. It works but the the volume control for it is weird. The machine has a duel gang pot, the lower control is the level play back of the recorded loop - fine The upper control is the drum loop volume. After setting the level the volume goes up, or down randomly. Weird. It was like this when I bought it from Ebay used for a little more than I'm asking . The drum loop thing isn't much of a problem unless you need a 2nd rate drum machine. So to reiterate, the looper works perfectly but drum loop playback misbehaves. Comes in original box. Has some glue residue from removed Velcro, no manual (download PDFs) they're usually £90 -ish 2nd hand so pretty good deal I reckon
8. I just bought his real Book - all as described - cheap - lovely ta!
9. except for the 'Steve Bailey bailey with DVD' all the books are well used. Probably about £200 worth here and a lifetime of study material. Some of them are photocopies. This is how I got them myself, I'm not photocopying books to sell at a profit or anything like that. I've had some of these for years - some for over 40 years (frighteningly) This is about 25% of my bass book library. I'm having a bit of a clear out although I'm not giving up my studies - after 44 years of playing the bass professionally I feel I'm just starting to get the hang of it .. the postage of this stuff will be about £10 as they are, all together, quite heavy. The price quoted includes this, so pretty cheap. Pay with paypal 'family and friends' or pop over and collect the lot for £20 - even better - I'm in Southend on Sea, Essex. A great opportunity to really get into your bass and get you away from noodling on an E pentatonic all day....lol (slightly patronising - apologies) 1: Steve Bailey's Fretless bass - including DVD (new unused!) 2: Real Book 6th edition Bass Cleff - very used - back page missing ( maybe last tune too) 3: Carol Kaye - Electric Basslines No.5 4: Carol Kaye - Electric Basslines No.3 ( missing front /back cover - but all content there) 5/6 : Binder photo copy - 2 books - A) Funk Studies Tony Hoppenheim - Tapping by Stephen Richter - beginners to advanced 7:`Improvising Jazz Bass - bound photo copy 8: The Bass guitar, reading, theory and technique (three languages) 9/10 Slappin for beginers - simple reading (bass) bound photo copy 11 : Louis Belson - Modern reading text in 4/4 - this starts at page 5 - ends on 88 (this book taught me to sight read - i owe my career to this one) - highly recommended- for all instruments not specifically for bass 12:specimen sight reading tests for double bass - grades 1 -5 - Royal School of Music !3/14: A Contemporary Concept of Bowing Techniques For the Double bass - An Organised Method Of String Playing Double Bass 15: Ray Brown String Bass - photo copy 16: Ron Carter - Transcriptions - photo copy - (no CD)
