1. Any fellow BCers fancy getting down to see my band Seven Days live tonight at Success To The Plough Bolton Rd Rochdale Lancashire OL11 3LW .....be nice to see you. Cheers, Pete.
 2. I've got exactly the same as that, and I bought it from a fellow BCer. It's a fantastic sounding bass, nice slim shaped neck for 5 string. That's also a great price for it, so you deserve a buyer. Have a free bump on me.
 3. +1 for Darling Dear by the Jackson 5. As stated in the "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" book, apart from the first few opening bars, none of the bars in the rest of the song are the same. A melody all of its own. Well worth learning just for that alone.
 4. I've seen various locum doctors who have tried to tell me I just have wax that is causing the constant ringing in my ears. I've at last been able to see my registered GP who is booking me in for audio tests as she said the amount of wax I have is not enough to cause permanent ringing. So obviously, I've come to the conclusion I've probably got mild tinitus, which wouldn't surprise me after nearly 30 years of playing. So glad I've seen this thread, as you can't put a price on things such as hearing, sight, etc. Whether I can afford it or not, I'm going to purchase some ear plugs. I'd still like to be able to appreciate what I'm playing in the next 30 years if I live that long.
 5. Yeah, like that. Reminds me a little of Living Colour.
 6.
I haven't actually heard the original of that, only the version that was played at the 1987 Princes Trust Gala by... ...mmm, Mark King of all people.
Aah...so it sort of gave the game away then! I also remember hearing a track called "Easy" by Nik Kershaw many years ago, and knowing instantly it was Mark King. It was all slapping, so it was a lot more obvious.
 7.
It's the hat.
Ba-dum-tish
 8.
Mark King - I can't think why though...
But would you have guessed he was playing on "If I Was" by Midge Ure if you didn't already know? I can generally spot Marcus Miller.
 9.
Drummers hi-hat side for me everytime...
....and me.
 10.
They are putting some more on e-bay today. I went to the shop in Liverpool and bought a 62 3TS P Bass. They let me have it for £115 and BassChatters can get them at this price if they wish. Ask for Neil. Build quality is amazing and it doesn't sound bad either. Took it to my guitar tech and he was completly floored. It was cheaper than the P-Bass kits he sells, better quality and you don't have to paint them. After I change the bridge, pots and stick a Wizard Thumper on it, I reckon it will be a crackin giggin bass for well under £200. Will take it up to the Lytham Bass Bass and anyone who is interested can have a butchers.
Sounds great that Stuart. Looking forward to giving it a "thump"
 11. Sold a few LPs to mr.sibs and was a very fast payer. No problems whatsoever. Cheers, Pete.
 12.
got mine today, thanks kindly mate, a right treat
Great stuff. It's a pleasure.
 13. Did you attend the Bass Day in Manchester? If not, check out "Bond" (see here) Search him out on Google and I'm sure you'll find some of the stuff he uses.
 14. Pedro mate. Have a look at this thread. Very good diagram.
 15.
Fellas , my heart bleeds for you !! I'm sure some day someone will come to watch you LOL
16. I use Firefox as my browser, together with an Add-on called "CoolIris". This, when hovering over any link, in this case a thread title, gives me a "preview" icon at the end. If I move to this preview icon, it opens up a temporary window with the contents of that thread in, which I can then use like any other browser window to read it, scroll down, etc. As soon as I move out of that temporary window, it disappears. If this is the sort of thing you're talking about, it can be achieved with the use of available browsers, etc.
 17.
Oh poo - I hope our dog's alright
Get good pet insurance. It's got to be worth it in the long run.
 18.
Two letters 'SX'... next
Pedro....I've not got one, but I've heard very, very good things about them as being fantastic value for the money. Get one shipped to the UK for £120. Then mod it to your own specs. Put new pups in, change the bridge, tuners, pickguard. Stick an East J-Retro in (or the like, depending on model). I'll be after jazz and either a P or PJ when I'm a bit flush again. Have a chat with OldGit and he'll give you some advice.
 19.
Anyone know a skilled bodywork repairer in the North (I am in Leeds) who might be able to fix a couple of horrible dings in my otherwise pristine Rickenbacker 4003? I thought I was being cool, bought a strap that had a metal ring joining it which weighed a ton. The freakin thing then took 2 chunks out of the edge of the body. They are only in the varnish and binding but looks a bugger so gotta get em fixed. PS. Anyone wanna buy a strap?
Depends whether you want to travel over to Manchester, but there are a couple over here that look worthy. Ged Green and Steve Robinson. Have a look at both of their sites and you'll see some nice repair work on there.
 20. I'm on an EBS mission myself, so I'm obviously going to say an EBS UniChorus.....but it does sound great.
 21. Premier Suite Reebok Stadium Bolton And the view from the dressing room....
 22. That really is a superb looking finish for a £100 bass. I'm gassing like there's no tomorrow for a couple of SXs (a Jazz and 3 tone sunburst P), but I'm completely broke!
