  1. Wiring loom for a precision bass. I believe it's made by Kiogon from this forum. Taken from a bitsa precision fretless I bought from Ebay and now surplus to requirements. £25 shipped in UK.
  2. The stalwart of 90s rehearsal rooms. It even has a missing slider. I am tempted purely out of nostalgia.
  3. Great basses. If it's anything like mine, it's hefty and packs a serious punch.
  4. It was already a good bass when I bought it. The Lindy Fralins have made it that bit better. The bridge pickup sounds lovely.
  5. Hi, unlined board. Dots are on the fret positions
  6. Dean Edge 8 string bass in gloss black finish. Made in Korea. Basswood body and a lovely 5 piece maple/walnut neck. Rosewood fingerboard and mother of pearl dot inlays. Soapbar pickups and active preamp with 2 band EQ, blend and volume. Black hardware. This bass is in excellent condition with lovely low action. I fitted a new set of D'Addario strings earlier this year so it really rings. No box, so collection only I am afraid.

  7. ESP LTD Vintage series J-204 Roadworn Jazz Bass in off-white. Made in Vietnam. The relic treatment on this instrument is v good. The neck especially is really playable with a chunky fingerboard. I believe the body is Alder I've fitted Lindy Fralin pickups. £300 ono. No box, so collection only I am afraid.
  8. Watching Nova Twins and I have serious 80s Japanese bass guitar and pedal board envy.
  9. That's the exact issue. Really noticeable on the E even though I play with a reasonably light touch.
  10. Hi, Has anyone replaced the stock individual saddles with alternatives or fitted a single piece bridge to their ng-3 or combustion? It's the only issue I have with an otherwise amazing instrument.
  11. https://www.thetubestore.com/12ax7-tube-reviews?12ax7-tube-reviews=undefined&goto=ts12ax7 I stuck some Tung Sols in my GK MB Fusion 500. I definitely notice more gain and midrange.
  12. Future Nostalgia. Actually, like most modern pop artists, she has a couple of albums and endless remixes.
  13. The album is full of good bass lines. I had a lot of fun playing along.
  14. Offensively loud amps. I love mine.
  15. The seller is in Chesterfield, which has a very striking cathedral.
  16. Sign up for Linktree. It's a neat way of hosting links to your various social and streaming media accounts. If you have a domain then set up a permanent forward to your linktree.
  17. I bid up to £200. Someone paid £286. Reasonably good deal, nothing amazing
  18. Guitar Center are renowned for shockingly badly set up instruments. I've seen US fenders rendered unplayable because of the action. On the flipside, a lot of bass players are just brutes. We did one gig where opening band bassist begged for a quick go on my customised jazz. He absolutely butchered the poor thing
  19. Get an active jazz bass. Bridge pickup covers some of the stingray sound, neck pickup covers p bass. No band is going to take issue with a stingray and jazz as your tools of the trade
  20. I bought a Dingwall NG3-5 'unseen' last year on the basis that I'd tried one out when buying a second hand pedal, I had won an outstanding employee award, needed to spend the money in a shop willing to accept BACS/SWIFT transfer and Andertons were still online only due to Covid. Apart from, last 'new' bass I bought was in 2003. A US Deluxe jazz 5 I picked up for silly money in the States - USD900, which due to Exchange rate and tax rebate worked out less than £600 Everything else has been second hand from Basschat, Ebay, or FB Marketplace
  21. Depends on the music style, song, tuning and the instrument to an extent. Until I bought my Dingwall, D standard was the lowest tuning I was comfortable without my bass sounding rubbish. I was in a prog metal band that write in either D standard or Drop C and was reasonably happy playing my parts of a standard tuned 5. A lot of 70s pop and rock songs are in Eb and they're simple enough that again you can play on a standard tuned 5. I think Eb is def my fave tuning though.
  22. A savvy artist would ensure their songs are associated with both.
