NO LONGER FOR SALE - Squier Silver Series Jazz early 90's.
I'm sayin it again - I would never, ever sell mine for that money. Super dope deal.
Indeed it is. It just suited me as I want a decent precision - Having 2 youngsters under 2 and a wife on Maternity leave, the instructions are that I must get rid of one to part fund another!! What with having an original 1974 Jazz and a 75 RI, plus a Stingray, I thought the Squier was better off being sold and used by someone, rather than kept as a spare - I guess its a "how many basses is too many"...... To be honest, I'm having serious 2nd thoughts about getting rid of it and might just buy a P anyway........and I've made my mind up - she's staying!! -

Practicing at night - headphone amp?
bassintheface replied to Vladimir's topic in General Discussion
I'm another iphone / ipad user and use the 'pocketamp' app. I've got the 'iRig' inteface to go with it and its great. Also good for recording on garageband. -
I have one of these with a flightcase and I did have it for sale last year to help fund my Aguilar GAS but didn't get any real interest so decided to hang onto it. I use it as a spare / rehearsal room rig / smaller gig amp. It sounds great to be fair and has plently of useful features inc a reasonable DI. It's more than powerful enough for most pub type gigs without PA support. The adjustable horn is handy with the 15" driver.

The Who 'Quadrophenia' Tour 2013

they were awesome. Pino is just unbelievable - so cool, yet his playing is just spot on. Effortless, but just 'right' abd locked in to such a goove with the drums. I was on Pino's side of the stage. His gear was turned in slightly so I couldnt see what amps he was using, but from the rear / side, they looked like a pair of Ampeg SVTs. The cabs seemed to be a pair of silverface Fenders - and 8x10 possible, plus maybe a 6x10. He played a black Fende Jaguar for most of the gig, with his salmon coloured P for a few songs. Really enjoyed it. Especially when Pete discovered his red strat was slightly out of tune in the middle of a song - he unplugged it hastily, clearly annoyed and threw it at his tech!! The strat bounced off the stage and his tech handed him a replacement!! The support band were seriously good too - Vintage Trouble......... Great bass player too, using Aguilar amps and cabs. -
I'm going to see them in Manchester tonight; anyone else? I can't wait as it means I also get to see and hear the awesome Pino Palladino playing some of my fav bass lines!!

For people with more than 1 bass...
bassintheface replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
I've currently got 4 , which is the most I've ever had. 1 is for sale is it isn't really required anymore - the Squier Silver Series I need 2 as a minimum as I have my main 'gigger' which is now my 1974 Jazz (for selected gigs) - if it's a bit rough or outdoors then it'll stay in the van as a back up and I'll use my.... ......75 RI Jazz, which was my main player for 7 years but has just become the backup - though its now got flats on it, plus I keep it tuned to Eb, but with the 'E' string down to C#. My stingray, which was my main gigger for 5 years has been retired to home practise and recording. Though if I joined another originals band, depending on the style, it may become a gigger again. In an ideal world I'd have a decent Precision, but tha then would be 'me' done. -

NO LONGER FOR SALE. Hello... for sale or trade is my early 90's Squier Silver Series Jazz in Sunburst, RW board and black scratchplate. Photos here - http://s1341.photobu...s?sort=3&page=1 The only thing that differs from the photos are the knobs on the control plate - They're now the shiny chrome type as I had them lying around unused. I've known this bass since about 1997 as it has been owned by may mate since it was almost new. Not much to say about it really - it sounds like a proper Jazz Bass and better than some US basses, is seriously light and plays well. Its a heck of a lot of bass for not much money. I'm sure many of you can support my opinion on this!! It has a fair few battle scars on it but these don't affect the playability. It comes with a gig bag and I'd rather not post if it can be helped - I've experienced too many broken necks!! I'm getting rid as I already own another 2 Jazz Basses - a Japanese 75 RI and an all original USA 74. I really need a P bass in my life, or the cash to put towards one. So - if it's trade, I'm ONLY interested in a Precision Bass, nowt else. Cheers.

"What's your fee for dep work?". Errrr, dunno...
bassintheface replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
My function band used a dep this last weekend as I'm curently awaiting Mrs BITF to give birth to sprog nr 2 - was due on friday...... anyway, this guy is a mate and plays bass in the function band's singer's orig band and is a quality player. He doesn't read but had to learn 35 songs but with no rehearsals. One gig was within an hour of 'home', the other was an early set up and late finish over 3 hrs away. We own a splitter van so he got picked up from home and dropped off again. Gig 1 was easy and he was home for 1.30am, gig 2 was leaving home at 11am and he got to bed the following morning at 5am - he got paid £400 for the 2 gigs.
