No worries, gents. Will do. We're now in the midst of Christmas party hell at the Grosvenor Pulford hotel, then onto NYE at Chester Racecourse, with a mate's wedding in between - our old sound eng who is now the mons eng for the Maccabees. He used to tech for the Wombats so both bands are coming so we might do a 'dive in band' thing..... Ha, yeah, get the SAS out! I was so close to inflicting some hurt on him! Thankfully, I spend a lot of time doing kickboxing and Muay Thai so ironically, it makes me more patient! He just annoyed by by implying our guitarists 'weren't up to his standard' - which they are and more, and far more experienced and cooler - but they know what to play and when........ -
Convince him that his own project would have much better prospects, I mean... your JUST a cover band after all
Ha, yeah, maybe I should.but then why would he keep asking to join?!! Though I bet his guitars cost more than both your guitarist's rigs. Always the way For sure - Steve has a Blues Deville and Matt has a battered Musicman 65 212. As they say - it's all in the fingers!!
Give him an audition. You might grow to love him.
Don't need him, he's not good enough, he's a massive tw@T and I'll probably end up putting him in the triangle!!
Think you may just have found the holy grail !!
Yes I have! They're ace and we have a right laugh - we've all got our 'nuances' but it's all good. We went to 6th form together, we're mates and they're all ace - got all the technique and chops you need but know when to use it and how!! We're all married with kids now and they call us Uncle whatever. It's great. They don't use their powers for evil!! -
Anyway, had to get it off my chest as I've been getting really wound up with how rude he was, how deaf he must be, how ignorant he is and how I wish someone steals all his gear.

HI Guys, I'm looking to gague interest on a Squier Jazz bass - it's a late 80's Korean 'S' series which were made in the Samick factory apparently. Black, R/W board, white pick guard. In decent nick - couple of dings but nothing bad. [s]Serious apologies for the crap pics - they were taken on a mobile but I will get some better ones tomorrow or Thurs. [/s] I'm really struggling to get the pics to load at the mo..will keep trying...... No case, located in Wxm for trial. £280.00 I'll get a postage quote once I know where it's going! Cheers,

They sound like a pair of pub rock pricks! I used to do the sound in a large 600 cap venue and the amount of unmusical guitards that 'needed' their amps on 11 were unreal! Apparently I didn't know what I was talking about! Show them this - http://barefacedbass.com/uploads/BGM57,%20Aug2010.pdf Sadly, most of the sh*t musicians I've come across have "all the gear and no idea", yet the proper talented ones are easy to work with and know the drill. You've done the right thing by f***ing them off!!

I've recently been offered a Squier Silver Series jazz bass for a reasonable price by a friend. I've known the bass for over 10 years - the current owner bought it off another friend of mine around 5 yrs ago. It's a lovely sunburst with RW board, Jaco style (no scratch plate). It plays and sounds really nice, with an awesome neck. What I'm after is a little bit of 'history' on these Silver series models and their general values. I like it and think it'll be a great backup for my 75RI CIJ Jazz - I've just added Fender USA vintage Jazz pickups, new controls (CTS pots), orange drop cap, new wiring etc and a Gotoh Jazz bridge so it now sounds even more awesome. Also, would it be worth putting the original Japanese pots and pickups from my CIJ into the Squier or do they have decent pickups etc etc. Cheers all.
