1. I've recently 'inherited' an Mbox - I think it's probably getting on for 10 yrs old - it's the grey one. Original Mbox 1. Anyway, I'm having trouble getting it to work with my pc, which is running vista. Do I have to run it on a pc running Xp or is there a way around it? I have Logic also........ It's just for home demos etc. Thanks........
2. a difficult one - I only enjoy it depending on the distances involved, the time and what I've got on the next day! There's 5 of us though and we have a splitter so we share the driving. I recall once having spent the weekend with the old band in London shooting a video over sat and sun, a few of us went out on the sat nigh to Camden and got royally wellied. We managed to do the 2nd day of filming on the sun, but were booked into Rockfield for the week from the monday am so had to go straight there on the sun night. We had 2 vans, I was driving one with the guitarist and we left London for Monmouth at 11pm - seriously knackered after 2 long days, crap sleep, a lot of ale and hung over. Somewhere along the M4 we were both struggling to stay awake so ended up driving the rest of the way with the windows fully open, shouting (in a funny way) at each other and punching ourselves in the face just to stay awake. The lads in the 2nd van behind constantly kept flashing their lights and calling our mobiles to try and stop us falling asleep. Never again. Stupid.org
3. Jamerson it or pick?
4. a common problem for many bands! A simple and cheap fix is to get some of those cheap yellow or orange foam plug ear plug defenders - you know, the ones that you squeeze and pop in your ear. Just use one in one ear (I tend to go for the side closest to the snare & hats). It cuts out some of the hi freq 'fiz' and sparkle and when singing, you can certainly hear yourself so much better. More importantly, it does cut some volume. Try singing / talking with a finger in one ear and you'll see what I mean - it's like you can almost 'feel' the notes, but is sooooo much cheaper than IEM's.
5. This is still For Sale. It will now come fully serviced........
6. Nice job Phil.. being honest, I didn't realise JJ was actually a 'singer'.......good. Is Rich still her TM?
7. This is now advertised on ebay - the reserve I've set is lower than the price on here if anyone is after a bit of a baragin...... cheers!
8. Nice bass! Bump just because Rick Danko from The Band played one - looks cool as on The Last Waltz.
9. colossal tool seems very apt in this situation! Agree with you - he sounds like a class A tip end.
10. Hello there....... might I point you in the direction of something I currently have for sale........ http://basschat.co.u...bo-wflightcase/ Regards,
11. my 1st bass amp was a Warwick c180 combo - http://www.wikizic.org/Warwick-WAMP-C180/gallery-1.htm which I bought 2nd hand when I was 16. I was the envy of all the other bassists in school at that point as they were using small 30w Laney combos and the like. It was great and still being used by the guy that bought it off me - a mate. Next up was a Peavey Mk VI head and a battered Peavey 4x10 cab. I sold the Peavey cab and replaced it with the Warwick 410 Pro that I still use. Sold the Peavey head to make way for the Ampeg SVT 3 Pro. Also have the Ampeg BA300 115 (currently for sale on here) which I leave in the rehearsal room.
12. ........now, apparently there is a certain, non UK based company selling these new for a silly price. Don't know what shipping costs plus import tax would be on top though. UK wise they're anything between £580 and £645 new. Clearly, I can't compete with a huge, non UK company, but given it is used (though in brilliant condition and not used much at all), I have decided to drop the asking price a little to suit. £350 inc flightcase last reduction!
13. So, having traded a Gibson SG bass for this, the time has come to move it on to release funds for another cab I have my eye on, It's an Ampeg BA300 115 combo, and in brilliant condition. It's now roughly 2 yrs old or so. This is being sold as I would like to release some cash to purchase a Barefaced S12T ideally. I also own an SVT 3 Pro so have something to use in the meantime. I traded my bass for it in April / May and have done roughly 10 or so gigs with it. It's in great condition, what with being flightcased - the lid only comes off for gigs, and it stays in the base. I[s]'m asking £300 for it minus the flightcase...or £400 with. £350 with flightcase - take it off me so I can buy a Barefaced!! Final reduction before I ebay it.[/s] AND IT'S SOLD!! Links to amp details - http://www.ampeg.com.../ba300/115.html http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/2128...CFcoa4Qod8mx6Cg Ampeg said: RMS Power Output: 300-Watts Class-D LF Driver: 1 x 15" speaker HF Driver: 1 x HF horn w/ Level control Preamp: Tube (1x 12AU7) Tone Controls: 3-Band EQ Mid Tone Control: Style Ultra High / Ultra Low switches: Yes Variable Compressor: Yes Line Out: Yes, tube-driven balanced XLR and unbalanced ¼" TS w/ Level control, Pre/Post EQ switch and ground lift Effects loop: Yes Removable casters: Yes Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 21.25 x 21.5 x 16 Handling Weight: 60 Pounds Link to flightcase details - http://shop.castlecases.co.uk/product_info...products_id=861 Castle Cases said: This is a full touring ATA spec flightcase, custom made to suit an AMPEG BA 300 115 Bass Combo, with a shallow base leaving the Combo sitting in a shallow tray after the lid is removed. 14. I now own this exact combo, having traded it with Wooks79. It's great, portable and handy for most gigs..... sadly though, it's time for it to go up for sale.... I will be putting it up via my own thread shortly..... It's in the exact same condition, having used it for probably 10 gigs or so. I'm looking to free up some cash for another purchase.......... Cheers,
15. ha, that would be tooo easy wouldn't it!! I've got a selection of things really but depends on what you'd be looking for. I'm not sure an SVT3 Pro or a flightcased BA300 combo would be what you're after........
16. are you looking for a cash only deal if you were to part with it?
17. I would be interested in buying it!!
18. Thnaks guys - couldn't get online for a day and I did a quick handwritten transcription myslef but I will pass these on also. Cheers all!
19. Yeah, thanks for that but he's after the notation as it's for a 15 yr old to play in a concert / school production. I don't think he wants to sit and transcribe it - he's pretty busy at the moment I think. I'll probably end up having to do it ........if I can grab 15 mins!! If anyone has already transcribed it would you mind?? please! Hhe wants to rehearse it tomorrow apparently!
20. Hello all, just a quickie, and a bit short notice at that but a teacher friend is after bass guitar notation (TAB at a push) for this song for a school Christmas concert next week!! Nothing like being organised .......... Does anyone have anything? Thanks all!!
21. Like you've already stated - it does depend on who you are, where you are and the type of venue / gig. We're out on NYE - 3rd year running at the same venue. It's pretty local (which is good because my wife will be 8 1/2 months pregnant so I can be on call to shoot over to the hospital if needs be) there's a full house PA with eng supplied - it's a 'proper' venue so it's got proper gear. We also get looked after with meals etc. We're doing it for £1800.00 - it's nothing like double our normal fee but given the locality of it, the fact that the PA and Eng are provided etc we're happy with that. Re christmas gigs - we've got a load of party nights at a local(ish) nice spa hotel. Again, we've done this for the last 3 or so years and we do quite a lot of work there. We're doing them for roughly £900 per gig as they're all 1 hr sets, they're on consecutive days (its like Thurs, fri, sat and sun) so we can leave the gear set up - 1 load in and set up, 1 pack down and load out.
