1.
Inside by stiltskin
Oh yes, that as well! :-)
 2.
MB1. The Passions: I'm in love with a German film star
Good call.
 3. Nice summary of the day, Mick. Robert Trujillo with Mass Mental and Mark King was the highlight of the day. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing! Also, I was lucky enough to get chatting with Michael Mondesir, who was just wandering round like a normal punter. What a lovely, lovely man!
 4.
As always I really hope I can make this, although I fear transport may be an issue as usual... ... One day I will actually get to one of these things
Careful now, people might talk to you!
 5.
The eticket thing is confusing me a bit, there's an attachment to download, but nothing seems to open it. The email itself has the barcode and details... can anyone (LBGS) tell me if the printed email is valid for entry?

The eticket thing is confusing me a bit, there's an attachment to download, but nothing seems to open it. The email itself has the barcode and details... can anyone (LBGS) tell me if the printed email is valid for entry?
I couldn't print the ticket from the download either. So I emailed their customer support and they sent me a ticket via a link inserted in an email. I was able to open and print that. They responded same day.
 6. I would always recommend having lessons from an actual live tutor, and one who isn't a family member. IMHO this is particularly useful for the more mature learner. One reason being, that you aren't going to want to turn up at you next lesson not having practised anything from the time before. If your teacher is a family member I think it's too easy to make excuses .. 'oh, I had to mow the lawn, wash the car, make the dinner' or whatever. Also there is the temptation to postpone lessons 'let's do it tomorrow, I'm too busy right now' I'm always going to recommend lessons in any thread like this though, because it worked (still works!) for me. Other approaches are available. I think the Stuart Clayton book is great too, and my teacher used to often refer to it.
 7. Just found out that on the Sunday there will be a 'replacement bus service' from Walton on Thames (where I'll be staying) to Charing Cross (where I have to change for Olympia). Oh Joy!
 8.
First time going to the show, any advise on how to approach it, like what should i see first, what should i not miss ect
I always get the programme and plan my day around which performances and masterclasses I want to go to.
 9.
Which in turn referenced Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" with the line "meanwhile, I'm still thinkin" during the fade out.
I think 'Now I'm Here' by Queen references 'Little Queenie' during the fade out too
 10.
The only double album that I still listen to regularly is not allowed on this thread, as it is a live one.
Yep, me too. I was thinking of Made in Japan. I know it's a bit obvious, but I'd have to say The White Album and Physical Graffiti. As for ones that don't we work, I not sure But for one that got away, I'd have to suggest Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces. There are so many tracks on it that should have been longer IMHO.
 11.
Links to video footage or it never happened shell, you know the rules
I think I should excuse myself on the grounds that I'm not playing bass in the vid, just doing BVs! :-) And this is a bass forum after all! For those that don't know, this latest band I've accidentally ended up in is a rather loose collection of individuals. I do half the set on bass and the other half on BVs. I swap round with another bass player
 12. It was great. Real party atmosphere and the crowd loved it. I was wearing a black PVC dress and I imagined I looked extremely cool. However I've just seen a video and I'm grinning like a halfwit and bouncing about like an over excited eejit. I'm never gonna master 'cool'. I'll just have to settle for 'enthusiastic'.
 13.
Hey! Treat Bill with some respect!
Tee hee
 14.
Yes, indeed. We're not a vindictive crowd here, and are always willing to let bygones be bygones. Rubbing salt into old wounds is far from the BC ethic; for are we not gentlemen, all..?
No, I'm not.
 15. Just bought a new Snark cos I left my old one in a rehearsal room. I'm always doing that! I like the new one, it's a nice raspberry colour
 16.
Well I'm certainly not going there every week for a rehearsal - even if I could sing.
You don't know what you're missing.
 17. No, but I've been told I'm playing it wrong when I'm playing it right! 'But that's how it goes on the original' I cry. 'This is our interpretation' they respond. 'Well you can do what you like with the guitar part, but I want to play the bass line as close as possible to the original' I think but don't say. I'm in a Rolling Stones covers band atm. I know there is a debate to be had about whether or not you do things exactly as per the original. But if you're doing a Stones number that is itself a cover, you have to play it like them otherwise it's just your cover of a Chuck Berry or Robert Johnson Song. That's what I think anyway, but I don't say anything as I'm the new girl in the band and they asked me to join so I don't want to rock the boat. The other thing that bugs me is that singer consistently gets the words wrong. So if I'm doing BVs I have to sing them wrong as well otherwise it sounds weird. I couldn't bring myself to sing 'savilate' instead of 'salivate' though. (It's in the lyrics to 'Bitch' in case you're wondering)
 18.
The reference to weekly rehearsals in Ashford makes me think of Ashford in Kent, if I didn't know there was also an Ashford in Essex (and until 5 minutes ago, I didn't) then I would think that was an awful long way to go for a rehearsal each week.
Ashford Middlesex. Supposedly Surrey now, but it will always be Middlesex to me. I went to school there. :-)
 19. I've just had my truss rod sorted at the Little Guitar Shop. They did a great job and the price was very reasonable. I used to take my bass to PMT - they're OK for a basic set up, but didn't manage to diagnose my truss rod problem. So it will be the Little Guitar Shop for me in future.
 20. I totally get that, Truck stop. Sometimes you just have to bung on a track full blast and get all the frustration out of your system. My favourite track for this is Misty Mountain Hop by Led Zep.
 21. Well, I think it was Homer Simpson who said 'I used to listen to loud rock music all the time and it never did me any harm. ...Why doesn't someone answer that phone?'
 22. Anyway, wasn't there something about an obnoxious guitarist in this thread at one point? It all seems so long ago now.
 23. I believe it was Lemmy who said 'If it's too loud you're too old'. :-)
