1. I think Lemmy is to be applauded for getting up there and doing it, despite not being in the best of health. I don't think he looked sad, I think it was brave. The true spirit of Rock n Roll.
2.
I thought the best bit was the drum solo I think old Lem is on his last legs but still a rock star.
Agree on both counts. :-)
3. I see Steve Lawson is ' FX Sith Lord' this time! Joel's going to run out of magical epithets soon!
4. Yes I tend to agree , Mick. The text could be bigger and the pictures could often be smaller.
5. Thank you so much, Si. And many thanks to your Dad. I can't post the pics on BC because I have used up all my capacity here. But I will be putting them on FB. Love them. :-)
6. The Prisoner anyone? I'm surprised Number 6 hasn't been along yet. :-)
7.
Suprised nobody has posted this yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQGGQ-FCe_w One of my all time favourite pieces of music from one of my all time favourite films.
Ooh yes!
8.
Over the last few years I've realised I've actually grown to rather detest these types of things stuck onto the headstocks of various people I've watched or played with. Not seen one yet that didn't ruin the aesthetics of the instrument it was attached to to some extent. Most Warwicks probably excepted.
Tee hee, I've recently been wondering whether it's really uncool to play with a clip on tuner on show, or is it considered a sign of professionalism? And what if you play with a clip on tuner and a music stand? Whilst wearing a waistcoat
9. Can't post a link right now, but it's got to be The Persuaders for TV and the James Bond Theme for movies.
10. What a good idea! I shall be doing this forthwith. Thanks for the tip :-)
11. I listen to something every day. Usually radio or CDs in the car. Occasionally fire up the old turntable for an evening of spinning platters. But usually Radio 6 while doing housework and Planet Rock or CDs while driving.
12. The Universe is so mysterious and wonderful. I love this. :-)
13.
This isn't the saddest thread, http://basschat.co.u...erts-bass-bash/ this is.
It was actually good fun. You had to be there, really.
14. Another great day. Many thanks to everyone involved. I daren't start naming names or I'm bound to leave someone out.! It's great to know that the money raised goes directly to a good cause. I'll be interested to find out how much that was. :-)
15. Never! Let your freak flag fly as long as you can. Look at Gandalf!
16. I'll have to ask Nick about that experience at the Hearts Bass Bash on Sunday!
17. Yes I missed that. I was unenlightened back then. :-)
18.
It takes a man to play pink. With tort, matching head-stock and rosewood. Game over.
I know that was tongue in cheek, but I kind of agree. I think they look great, but I wouldn't want one myself. I'd feel it would be too much of a girly cliché somehow.
19. Up until yesterday I had never heard of this amazing bass player. A drummer friend dragged me along to PMT Brum where they were holding a drum clinic by Michael's brother Mark. It was an enlightening evening! Just the two of them, no backing tracks, no pedals or loops. Just astonishing improvisation that went in all sorts of unexpected directions. Then Mark took questions, and provided many interesting insights and anecdotes. And they both seemed like genuinely nice guys as well. So what do you reckon, BCers? Michael Mondesir...anyone else think he's the dog's whatsits? :-)
20.
Yes! Yes, it is!
Thank God you didn't use the pervy drooling smiley. Anyway, back on topic...
21.
The word you're looking for is 'nubile'.
Lol, ras52 - if only that were true. and ..that's enough suggestions (ed.)
22.
Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, "If you don't wanna f....." would probably not be the ideal song for a wedding. As yet I haven't heard it at one though.
Ha ha, I've love that at my fantasy wedding! (But maybe that attitude is why I've never had a real one)
23. Yes, do be careful. Even though we have established that a band called Leaving Eden exists, you don't really know who you are talking to on line. There are many ways of people appearing to be something they aren't - some of which are outlined in various posts above. xx
24.
A very quick search for Eric Gynan indicates that the rest of the email stands up - he is a musician, his band (Leaving Eden) is from the Boston area, the singer is named Eve, etc. etc. Unless a scammer has gone to the trouble of constructing a band's entire online identity plus interviews and photographs, this does look genuine, as bizarre as it is.
True. And also the band profile shows no name against 'bass' though all the others are listed. I came across the name of a previous bass player by googling the band name and 'bass player'. Then googled his name and came across a video. He is indeed a rather large gentleman. The plot thickens!
