1. Yes you are mad. But in a good way. Go for it!!
 2.
Bloody Hell! And I was just watching Herbie Flowers tell the story about the 'Walk On The Wild Side' bass line. I'll never forget listening to this track after getting lucky with Amy Sharpe when I was 17. Life changing and never forgotten http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uri6LLCZVjg Thanks for the great music Lou. Farewell to a great talent.
Sometimes people wonder why we get upset over the deaths of people we have never met. But this is why. They provide the soundtracks to our lives. The memories come flooding back when a great music maker dies
 3. Personally, I adopt a more 'Mrs Merton plays bass' style. Keeps me out of trouble.
 4. Ogdens Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces. I'd forgotten what a joyful, funny and touching album it is. But all the tracks are too short. I think it should have been a double album.
 5.
I thought this was going to be a thread about a groovy new fabric conditioner . I'll get my coat ...
Or the effects of a new budgie food. But you'd be too young to get that one
 6.
Crickey, think I might match the criteria for that band as long as they would accept my very occasional flirtation with the tricky root/octave manoeuvre !!
Ha ha, me too. Though I might chuck in a third now and then just to impress
 7. Can't believe I missed this thread first time round. Made me smile. :-)
 8.
know what you mean, they might as well fit an on/off switch for all the variety of tone I get.
Same here, but I never dared ask the question! Always assumed it was something I was doing wrong. :-)
 9. That's a really rotten thing to happen. I do hope all comes right in the end.
 10. Yes I was there at Kev's jam session. Really enjoyed it and glad I plucked up the courage to get up and play. Especially Johnny B Goode which I had never played before! I enjoyed watching the other bands too, especially the house band featuring the estimable KevB on bass! He's a terrific player and really versatile - can play virtually anything thrown at him and sing too!! Had a bit of a nightmare journey back tho - Junction 11 of the M42 closed and I found myself driving round the midlands countryside in the dark and rain trying to find Junction 10. Sat Nav kept taking me back to J11! Enventually I had to stop at a garage and ask a real human being for directions
 11.
Could be worse. Your cat could've found a way inside your cab like mine did a few months ago! The little tart woke me up from meowing; she managed to get in but couldn't get out.
Oh what a funny puss cat!
 12.
I can't believe you could say that when you've met the cat..... Shame on you Wayne!
I bet she loved him as well. :-)!
 13.
Is that a studded wristband? Surely not?
It's glittery, so it's a girlie version!
 14. Me and drummer taking things very seriously. Such a tight rhythm section - both looking in different directions!
 15. Mmm, Silver Fox. Grrrr. Sorry, I know that's not helpful. As you were.
 16. Chatma by Tamikrest Beautiful Arabic/rock cross over. Very haunting and powerful. Vocals are superb and there is some very nice bass playing frrom CheickTiglia. It's ages since I've bought a new album, but heard this on 6 music and just had to get it. It's available on vinyl too, although I had to get the CD version as my hi-fi is currently out of action.
 17. Hugely difficult choice. I thought they all did justice wonderfully to the powerful picture. In the end I had to go for Skol though. I'm not usually a massive dubstep fan, but I thought it really worked well for this topic. Gives it a melancholy and menacing feel, and together with the arabic music and calls gives a real sense of two worlds coliding. Great stuff, I am in awe of you all!
 18.
Smoke and your gear....and fire in the sky..............sorry!
19. That's a shame Machines. Maybe they're just under staffed.? I 've always found them to be really nice. And as a mature woman but a bit of a novice bass player I sometimes find music shops a bit intimidating. But the PMT guys always seem friendly.
 20.
Used to ba a Bass Center under the arches near where there used to be a Musical Exchanges... I think both are now gone. PMT is ok
Yep, both gone now. I've found the PMT guys to be very friendly and not at all poseycand patronising. But I've never bought a bass there - just extras such as strap locks etc and a few music books.
