1. They've just done an obit on 'Last Word' on radio 4.
 2. I knoe what you mean James. It's the main reason I started playing bass in the first place. Hope things start to look better for you soon. (( ))
 3.
I think I've tried that one, you know. I seem to remember it being more exciting than their music.
I love your username! Sorry..back on topic...
 4.
Thats not ankle jewellery,it's a tag!Do you have an ASBO(Awful Sounding Bass Order)?
Oh yes, I've definitely got one of those! I'm not allowed to play me bass in a built up area or in front of children or people of a nervous dispostion. Or those with any musical discernment at all.
 5.
That wasn't Paul Dianno - that was me !
So you've got your own Corset Tech have you?
 6. Soemone I know did a gig with Paul Dianno years after his IM days. He said he saw a roadie lacing him into a corset minutes before going on. Can't verify this of course.
 7. Well I didn't realise that playing a Fender P in a covers band put you in Chav territory. But if so, I'm in ! Also I have been known to wear toe rings and ankle jewellry, which I gather from another thread is beyond the pale.
 8. Excellent guidelines Mr Chairman. May I raise a question from the floor? What are the guidelines for BCers we have met IRL?
 9.
Haha! We-e-e-lll.... I don't want to know! He'll always be a metal god no matter what
This is true! :-)
 10.
And what proof do you have of this fact? I heard that they did in fact, monkey around.......
No they didn't - they were too busy singing to put anybody down!
 11.
Little known fact No. 3: Cosy, twee, love song "Last Train To Clarksville" (while they can't get credit for writing it) was an anti-war song. Clarksville was an army base for kids who ended up in Vietnam, hence the line "And I don't know if I'm ever coming home".
Well I never knew that! I love that song.
 12. Nice blog, Sylvia. Looking closley at that pic of you with David Ellefson....do you think he has the beginnings of a combover going on there? Aaargh! :-0
 13.
I played with him twice. Not only a very good musician but he had a very good recall of past gigs and people he had known, some of them fifty years ago. He struck me as someone who had a genuine interest in other people. A nice guy.
That's good to hear. And I've just remembered I saw him play! It was at Sunbury on Thames regatta in the early seventies when I was a kid. :-)
 14.
There was a radio 2 special on him only a couple of weeks ago and very entertaining it was too
Yes I caught this by accident when driving home from a rehearsal. Really good.
 15.
Sad news indeed but no mention of it on tv or even radio 2 this morning.
Yes very sad. I only found out from this thread :-(
 16.
Nope, I'd fall at the first hurdle as I absolutely refuse to use the word 'baby' in reference to a love interest, which seems to be a prerequisite for just about every pop song.
Shame I can't think of a rhyme for 'Bunnykins' :-)
 17. 'The goose flies south in winter...' I'll leave the photos behind a litter bin in Hyde Park. Or am I getting it confused with a dead letter box now?
 18. Yes sos for the delay Sylvia. I 'll try to do it at work tomorrow where I have the technology! :-)
 19. I forgot to mention another famous face 'spot' on Sunday. I saw the actor Ben Miles (played Patrick in the comedy series 'coupling' amongst other things). He was sitting right in front of me in the Peter Hook masterclass.
 20.
Wow! I never knew Peter Hook was blonde !
Yeh, I really should have had a shave! :-) But seriously he seemed like a really nice bloke and was not at all condescending.
 21.
Erm....I'm pretty sure its Saturday the 9th, unless I'm very mistaken...which I am a lot of the time. If Yoricks real name is Nigel, then he's da man.I remember that their outgoing Bassist placed the ad on here, which I thought was rather sweet.
Ooh yes 9th it is. But still its the Sat I can't do. :-( Yes Nigel is the guy I meant. :-)
 22.
Heyhey...my gig is in sunny West Bromwich on Saturday, March 9.Its with Heartbreaker, who are a Paul Rodgers tribute, so if classic rawk is yer thing, come on over. We're playing at The New Talbot. It would be lovely to see a Basschatter or two there. Rest assured, ill be spamming the site mercilessly between now and the gig...
I think Sat is March 8? If so I can't make it due to another comitment. Bugger I would have loved to have been there. Is it Yorrick's old band btw?
 23. Rushbo, when and where are you gigging it? I really hope to be there. :-)
