  1. I think you might need to scrap the PCB and wire up a couple of these in parallel. https://www.rapidonline.com/neutrik-ag-nmj2hf-s-mono-unswitched-jack-socket-20-0143
  2. This might fit. https://www.rapidonline.com/Jalco-JS5077-Professional-Switched-Jack-Skt-20-1399?IncVat=1&pdg=aud-944136121904:pla-337278509230:kwd-337278509230:cmp-757438067:adg-44804851896:crv-207912323492:pid-20-1399:dev-c&gclid=Cj0KCQjwv7L6BRDxARIsAGj-34rLr8AOT3438n0xPkXmDOOy70eRsMUNC7wBSDKx2fGpc8qs6-gAISsaAiD0EALw_wcB Edit - NO. I don't think that will do because it's switched and I think that could short out the other skt and therefore the amp O/P. I can't find another with the same spaced solder lugs.
  3. I think out of curiosity I'd try different amps and cabs and basses. Spent far to much money. But, I can honestly say that I haven't bought an amp, cab or bass for over a year, possibly 2. There is stuff out there I'd like to try but after 20+ years of playing, (and some folk will far exceed that figure), I'm very pleased with what I have now and enjoy noodling everyday. The occasional gig or open-mic and I'm contented. Those at a different place on their journey through life/bass playing will still be feeling that itch for a change. It's all good fun. When the bass-bashes start up again it'll be good to have a scratch.
  4. I have no idea, (I was going to say join the club but thought better of it). However I found this advertised. Also there is a guitar tuition site for online learning. Will anyone else join the conversation?
  5. I think the audio quality on this video is pretty good. The subtle differences come across. What's with the Fender LS I don't know!
  6. That that purpose I would certainly recommend:
  7. Apart from the TC BH250 the other amps I've owned with one knob built in compression were - a PJB Briefcase and a Roland cube. Both were good, quite smooth subtle as you turned it up if I remember correctly without changing the sound too drastically. The Spectracomp is the one that can be subtle or heavy, all with one knob control. I think TC got it right. At least try the Spectracomp and compare with any other if you can before you decide.
  8. TC BH250 here with Spectracomp loaded as my only effect, no pedals. About 9 o'clock does me which just thickens up the sound. Suits me as I just want light-weight & simple allowing the tone of whichever instrument I plug in to shine.
  9. He was 15 just 2 months older than me and was performing from a young age around Brum. "The Spencer Davis Group was formed in 1963 in Birmingham after the Welsh guitarist Spencer Davis encountered vocalist and organist Steve Winwood (then aged 14 and still at school),[3] and his bass playing brother Muff Winwood performing at a pub, the Golden Eagle, as the Muff Woody Jazz Band. He recruited them and Pete York on drums[4] to form the Rhythm and Blues Quartette, which performed regularly in the city.[5] In 1964, they signed their first recording contract after Chris Blackwell of Island Records saw them at an appearance in a local club; Blackwell also became their producer.[6] (Island was then a small independent label with UK Fontana contracted for distribution.) Muff Winwood came up with the band's name, reasoning, "Spencer was the only one who enjoyed doing interviews, so I pointed out that if we called it the Spencer Davis Group, the rest of us could stay in bed and let him do them."[7]"
  10. 1963ish, I was 15 years old and too young to get into clubs and pubs but heard him standing outside the Whiskey A Go Go in Brum. https://www.birminghammusicarchive.com/whiskeya-go-go/
  11. Which bistos grateness upon you. A fact borne out as the eminent modulator herewith.
  12. I think one can take most of the comments on here with a pinch of salt.
  13. I've been busy but back on line now and trying to ketchup with various posts.
  14. This thread has become peppered with anomalies.
  15. Checked and it's a HCT therefore £649 new. Still a decent saving. I have the regular HCT violin and they are a lovely guitar.
  16. A recent smooth sale, thank you.
  17. Fan in my TCE BH250 seems silent to me. Similarly fans in Yamaha and EMX5012 mixer & DXR10s also silent. Any noisey fan would have to go. P.S. My hearing ain't what it used to be though.
