I gave the bass cellar business with a pair of strings that were urgently needed the other month, begrudgingly though I must say. I'm no expert, but I do dislike being treated like I'm an idiot who doesn't know what size strings his bass needs. What's wrong with the bass centre might I ask? Never bought from them but they sure were friendly (and a decent price) for an 'official Warwick repairer'

I don't like being made to turn up at 5pm for a sound check that doesn't happen, and then have to pay for your food and drinks at said establishment for 5 hours until you go on stage.

frontman drank too much after I'd previously told him to slow down we had a great backline but i could only hear myself, something the sound guys didn't sort all set dlb was there and I thought his band were great, damn tight too! And the warwicks outnumbered the fenders 2 to 1, a result!

Chad is a monster, that is most definitely true! Always got a fantastic drum sound too. As for flea, that's a shame, but I get the impression he might not play all that much at home anymore...

At what weight do you consider a bass to be heavy?
dc2009 replied to Evil Undead's topic in General Discussion
IMO balance will affect the weight you perceive far more so than the weight itself! That said, I once played a 73' ash bodied jazz in a shop, had a dead leg after 10 mins. -

It's always a matter of taste, but a Tanglewater had to be your priority IMO. I haven't heard a bad word said about them and A LOT of the regulars on here have tried them, or even bought them.
The Gallery has a great selection of basses usually, but I have always found them to be unhelpful and judgmental every time I have been in there. I had an issue with a bass I bought from them about a year ago, not only were they adamant I was imagining it, the tech guy gave me an extraordinary list of 'reasons' (read: bullshit) why there could be a problem. It appears I am alone on here in my opinion of the place, however.
Only gripe I have was when I asked to be put through a different amp, I got led to the other end of the shop, only to be put through an even worse markbass than the one I was going through previously....sigh

The other thing I would seriously advise is: have a look at the classifieds on here, and see what is local to London. I know I'm here and my door is always open should any BCer want a go on my gear, with a view to buying one or similar, and there are plenty on here with a lot better gear than mine!

There are also two Jack Bruce Thumbs. The title implies this is one of them, but it could feasibly be the other instead! Sig models at Warwick are silly money. A proper Rob Trujillo sig will set you back about 8000euros, and the less said about the Hellborg stuff the better! This is certainly a rare beast. With a bass this rare, the seller could essentially name his price, within reason considering the condition and list price. However, finding a buyer for such an instrument, you may be lucky to find a single person for it in a 12 month period, who could within reason hack you down to whatever price they wanted... Tricky business this, but I wish the seller the best of luck, and as much as I'm no cream fan, I'd love to see some photos!
Tip for the OP, as a North American gentleman, unless you are very familiar with the English vernacular you may construe the above to mean 'I once arrived in sed borough in a state of some considerable annoyance'. Fyo 'Pissed' actually means 'drunk' to us Brits. Although if you accidentally ended up in Epsom you probably would be quite annoyed... unless of course you were too pissed to care... Anyways...glad to be of assistance sir And +1 for the Gallery in Camden- last time I went in there it wasn't ALL expensive gear, and talking to the delightfully German proprietor Martin will give you an authentic pan-european experience to-boot, what more could you ask?
Dude I was pissed in the end (angry), the return taxi was £60! No idea how I got there. Next day examination of bus tickets meant that I had got on the right bus home, travelled to the end of the line. Then traversed Richmond Park at about 1am, in order to reach the starting route of my next bus, which dumped me in feckin Epsom! And as for $1=£1, I meant if you can buy a new fender blacktop in the USA for $550, it will cost you £550 here. I've paid for hardcases, shipping and ludicrous import duty before and still saved myself £100 on the cheapest UK price for a bass I imported from the states. (it was Korean made so not even a USA model). So not worth buying here unless you can't get it in the states!

I've had a set of the steve harris sigs, they're flatwounds, so the giveaway should be the thump sound when you play!
'bleusman76' - Bad spelling of 'bluesman', deliberate misspelling or an International seller? '...if you Are interrested' - Possible rush typing, dyslexia or International user. 'Greetz' - Often an International useage. 'No photos' - The bass doesn't exist!
I thought so too. No mention of hard case, shipping details, or location, on a bass that expensive, those would be top of my list to know.

Epsom is a mission to get to if you're anywhere in Central London - believe me, I once ended up there pissed out of my mind! Go to the Gallery first. The Gallery will also have the tanglewater CJ's in, provided they haven't all been bought up! They are great basses, I'm tempted by a CJ5 myself. You will find that anything available in america can be had here for roughly $1=£1 conversion, so not at all good for you.

This looks to have JP2 inlays but the body, pickups, finish and colour all look wrong. Thoughts? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/yamaha-trb6-bass/86812308 Was priced at £190 not long before

After being very much disappointed by this album, I've gone back and been listening to stadium arcadium three days in a row, and I have to say, I really enjoy it. I mean sure, should they have just picked the good songs and released a single cd album? Yes. Would they have included the less poppy songs that I actually prefer? Probably not. With this in mind, I wonder if in a few years time this album will be seen as good. I knowbi disliked stadium arcadium at the time, but man am I loving it now. Hey is a great bass driven track!
