1. I wonder, will there be a "Geordi La Forge" head or combo.
2. I tune my guitars to E flat, because you get 'that sound.' Loads of bands do it and it's on a lot of classic (rock) albums: Hendrix, Appetite..., Alice in Chains, Extreme. It also makes solos easier ^_^ Bass in my band however, is in standard tuning.

Orange...
Hasn't someone on here got an Orange head and a silver/black Aguilar cab? Probably the coolest looking rig on BC.
The Oranguilar! That'll be me. I would have the 8x10, but i don't fancy shifting it about
4. Yeah, nice. Catchy and melodic. I could see myself sitting in a sunny field with a healthy supply of beer, listening to that (rather than a dingy, dark toilet venue). Kinda reminds me a bit of The Lemonheads. The singer has a Dando-like delivery and tone. I agree with the comment above that the production is a bit thin sounding. Dare i say, it might benefit from a punchier, 'poppier' mix to breath more life into it.

New EHX pedals!

Just when you thought it was safe to stop buying new pedals!
6. I recently purchased up a '77 Mustang, black/black with a maple neck, which is quite rare it seems on Mustangs, as most appear to have rosewood fretboards. It's awesome! A lot beefier than i had expected and a very cool looking bass. I got it a for a good price too, considering i bought it from a shop and so got to try it out etc. Good luck with the sale.
7.
i'd think of it more as the Mondeo of the world of basses. Does what it says on the tin, but i'd rather have a Ferrari.
Hmm, i'd say the Precision was a design classic, so a 'Mondeo' would be far off the mark imo. More like a VW Beetle, or a Mini. I love Ps. For those that find them dull, i say they're only as dull as the person playing it. It's all in the fingers imo.
8.
If I'd been one of the serious bidders, I'd be seriously pissed off by this.
It does smell, doesn't it.
9. Yeah this has sadly been up there for a while. "Exact replica" lol, yeah right.
10. Try 'Angel Music,' above what was Music Ground (now relocated to what was Andy's). It's a bit more competitive than V&R. Most people will never see it, as it's not on the ground floor, but on the first floor. It's small, but stocks vintage gear: Acoustics, electrics, basses, amps and pedals. I know V&R is ridiculously pricey, but it's nice to browse in. I find the second hand stuff far more interesting than the majority of the new stock for sale.
11. Yeah, keep pissing her off and you'll get the full "relic" job. Hand her the neck, pickguard, pots, etc next ^_^
12. Young kids with chops is nothing new. Years back there was that Steve Vai-esque guitar kid, who was about 10 or something. Personally i found this vid cliched and dull. I f*ckin' hate slap! He has an ear and a feel for sure though.
13. I got one of these recently and i like it. Step on it and turn up the bass and you'll shake your foundations, to quote AC/DC. The bass (low) knob controls the output volume of the low pass filter, which has a cut-off frequency of 85Hz. The treble (high) knob is a high pass filter, which has a cut off of 6.5Hz. Yes, they could have made it narrower in size, but it's actually quite light (without a battery, which i don't use). The 'Dry' knob in the middle let's you mix in/out your input signal. I'm recording a couple of tunes this weekend and i intend to use it. I bought it for my bass, but i tried it on my guitar too (Gibson SG standard) and i wasn't particularly impressed, but perhaps i should have fiddled a bit more. But it really comes alive on bass. When you turn it off and hear your original bass tone, you think hmm that's weedy, lol! I might just keep it on all the time.
14. Congrats on the DB410. I've been rockin' a DB210 with my Orange head.
15. Personally, i don't understand this, being in several bands thing. My band takes up enough time/effort/money as it is. With regards to your situation, if it doesn't feel right, i would move on IMO, because that itch is only going to get bigger. Better move on early, rather than dropping your fellow band members in it further down the road. It sounds as if you are having to play a certain way, which obviously you can, but isn't really you. For me that would = less satisfaction.
16. What about "Thomann the Barbarian" and of course "Thomann the Destroyer (of Spector Euro 5LX basses)"
17. i borrowed one of these at a smallish gig (put through the PA too, of course) and it was absolutely fine. I was actually quite impressed, after initially thinking 'hmm' when i saw it.
18. Perhaps the same bloke that served me in '99 when i bought a MIM Jazz and Trace Elliott combo there, all for a pretty reasonable price. However, a couple of years ago, i bought another bass there and the sales assistant dropped the bass on the floor right in front of me, seconds after i had said i'd buy it
19. What, Flashmob style? lol.
20. Nobody asked the question yet then? I'll probably be nosing around there tomorrow.
21. Can anyone point me to some sound samples for this?
22. I'm thinking of picking up a MAG 300 Evo II head, as a cheap/backup head for smaller venues and gigs where i'll have to lend gear out.
23.
Next time I'm the area, I'm going to go in there and ask them if they realise what the perception of them is. I'm going to be polite, but I'll put them on the spot and ask them why they're so unfriendly. I will report back.
I imagine they won't care.
24. Yeah, Wunjo are friendly. They are desperate to say hello to you when you walk in. I too remember Denmark St when it felt like a nicer to visit. In 1991, i bought a sunburst GTX Les Paul (it was actually a brilliant guitar, wish i kept it) from Rose Morris. They had much more stock then, on the ground floor too.
