Hi guys,
I was put on to Basschat by Graham at GAK. I'd previously never heard of the place, but I certainly wish I had come across it sooner! It would have made my life a whole lot easier when I've been trying to source bits of gear!
I've been playing for 13 years now. Played all kinds of styles and genres, but can never tear myself away from the fact that Rush is still the greatest band in history! The early years of my playing came from learning to play (Badly) every Rush song I could get my hands on. I've been through the many stages of Geddy by owning Jazz basses, two Wals (One of which I massively regret selling) as well as a 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 (Currently for sale in the market section).
My current longest standing bass is my trusty Billy Sheehan signature model which I've had for nearly six years. It's been used on a million and one gigs and has never let me down.
Beyond bass, I've also taken to learning guitar and drums to a pretty high standard, which has allowed me to write and record my very own material (No one else would play with me!).
I've been taking a break from playing for a while, but I've recently been getting back into, hence buying a new rig and being put in the direction of Basschat to sell me old rig.
P.S I'm having a major dilemma as to whether or not I should sell my Ricky... I'll take it out on the gig this Friday and see how I feel!
Ben
