1.
I have no possible need for this. I have spent some time trying to work out where I could use it. I LOVE a good case, and this is a great case - it's got wheels and everything! If I had any need for a hard case I would be all over this like a bad rash.
+1
2. Mohini Dey no doubt is very very talented and in time could become extremely well rounded. At 16 your talent still is developing and time spent learning styles, developing your own voice etc etc is limited by the young age. So I can totally see why people are amazed. Tone is an individual preference so cannot comment. Personally I prefer her tone in some of the Indian music videos she features in on Youtube. John McLaughlin, take notice
3. I actually have an M80, M80 double, the Protec Contego and the Mono Sleeve. Apart from the ridiculous buckle and flap I actually prefer it over the Contego if I do not need to take too much stuff with me as it is light but does a good job at protecting my bass. I carry my strap, mic, couple of leads and bass comfortably. M80s still are the best option if you need to carry more imo. Contego for sure is a good bag/case, but not an M80.
4. Must say that P sounds lovely, and a fair example as I also use the Mesas both Walkabout and MPulse. I very briefly had an Andre Gouche Kingston, great to play, hated the tone.....maybe it's some of the soapbar models...
5. ......this is just gold. If it is a marketing ploy it's pretty oddball, original and funny, if he truly has lost the plot then he is just another artist that has started believing his own hype, which I also find pretty amusing. Getting famous and being able to deal with being famous are 2 different things. Or maybe he is on Caitlin Jenners hormone pills.
6. I am posting this to gather some intel. Over the years I have had limited exposure to Barts but where I was exposed to be frank I was not too impressed thus far. They felt quite scooped, brittle and lacked character of sorts. However, a number of very reputable builders pretty much swear by them (Roscoe, Pedulla, MTD etc.). Any opinions (clearly they have a range of pickups) pro or con? Cheers.
7. I love my Bighead, top piece of kit for both practice and recording.
8. I live in Holland, like UK most small quality shops are closing down with companies like Bax and Key Music taking over. Bax is not like Thomann. Thomann is a family owned business that became huge through performance, Bax is small in comparison and has a lot to prove over a long period of time before a comparison can me drawn. I order at Bax now and again, from a EURO perspective they are not cheaper than Thomann; I expect the cost benefit will be short lived if the GBP to EURO changes. Forex is currently a big part of the low price points and they want to try and carve out a niche for themselves in Europe which they can only do in so many ways. Personally I think they are ok, no more no less and prefer Thomann. More choice, better CS, longer reputation, more in stock etc etc.
9. GK RBs are amazing, probably best Watt per £ on BC currently.
10. Open to trades, filters, delays, synths mainly bump.
11. Cort make great basses, I had an old 4 string fretless that sounded soooooo sweet.
12.
Isn't it down to the person who arranged the courier to give money back and chase said courier? did you organise OP or was it the seller?
That's what I'd think too...
13. Depends on song, it helps if you cut it into chunks and excercise it until your fingers 'do the thinking' and then move on. Some songs I just need to listen to, it took me ages to pick up all the particulars of some Metallica or Mastodon songs. Average probably 20-30 minutes.
14. Bumpage, price is right, looper is better!
15. Wonder how Clarkson would pronounce the name..... Mare whoos chick
16. .. just because it is Damien Hirst splattering paint on a bass, doesn't make it art nor does it guarantee any rise in price down the line. But hey, if someone is mad enough... free country and such.
17. Ridiculous, Flea just give some of the 100 million or so you have to charity and stop acting like you swallowed too many wacky pills this morning.
