1. My gigs are mostly in bars and clubs nowadays and I can get away with a smaller set (GB STM900 and MB LM800), so am just under-using this lovely bit of kit. Do you need or want arena level classic bass tone? I have just the thing........ Trace Elliot V Type Pre (tube) - GBP250 + shipping Fender MB1200 (1200w @ 2Ohm, 800w @ 4Ohm) - GBP375 + shipping Boschma 4U Flight Case - not sold separately Price for the whole whack £625 + shipping/delivery (pretty cheap for a 1200 watt monster rig). Sweet and creamy tube tone from the classic and coveted passive tone stack paired to an awesome Fender power amp that just loves to soak up 2 Ohm loads (= 2 Ampeg 8x10s or such). I think the specs are pretty well known on the forum so will not bore you with too many details. http://www.fender.co...rtno=2247500000 http://www.britishau...inst/V-Type.pdf Will not split the amps that readily, they were made for each other! What do I want if we trade? A quality 212 cab (4 (preferred) or 8 ohm), a 5 string 35" (passive) JB, a 4 string passive J with de-tuner, a lightweight combo (300w+), another LM800 (or even the Tube version), a TC Electronic RH750, a solid state (light weight) amp - Thunderfunk, Glock Blue etc. I live in NL, but am back in UK often enough and can deliver/pickup in the SE (Herts) at shared cost. 2. +1, works a treat and are cheap as chips 2nd hand
For the sounds that you're after, it would be worth looking at the Roland VB system (the old one). Usually @ £300 or so. You can even play your Juno from it. If you're looking for the more DnB, Dubstep, Electronica type sounds, then you're looking at Octave>Fuzz>Filter & some other pedals to tailor your sound more (can end up costing a small fortune). 3. But above all he is a solid bass player that recognizes the opportunity FX pedals give to enhance the sonic spectrum of the instrument and is able to utilize them to their potential. Too many players have pedal boards the size of the QE2 that make their sound even worse than it was to start with. FX are great, I use them a lot, but in the right setting please. Companies will throw stuff at anyone they feel can help them strengthen their market presence and identity, all about the money and nothing else. If Shep was called Chris Wolstenholme I am sure he would get all his sh*t for free and more. Hey, if bloody Tommie Two Tits of the punk rock band "We cannot play to save our lives and only use one string between us "(no offence Shep) was selling enough records/shows I am sure Fender would bring out a 1 stringed Poo coloured signature P that would sit just right. Am I ranting?
4. Nice! Had the chance to play a T5 the other day....... none of the neck dive BS that the Gibson's have and the pickups are top class = awesome bass! Good luck and thank you for not selling a 5string, it may have become too much GAS to handle
5. Darn it, I had just decided to add this to my NV610. Should have moved immediately. Good luck whoever bought it, Bergs are the bees knees.
6. Incredible, awesome US made highly cost effective bass like the Hamer Cruise sparks no interest at all. Even at 500 it was a bargain, now it is a ridiculous bargain..... come on people, you keep spending bucket loads of dosh on reasonably crappy instruments just because the label says Fender..... get over your unfounded angst and buy this cracking 5 string! Sure, it is not a Mike Lull, it is not a Nordstrand or Sadowsky, but a lot (AND YOU MAY QUOTE ME) better than most of the cheaper basses I see pass by on this forum. So, have a free bump on me, buyers get moving and for those who don't know Hamer....you can always PM for my 2 cents, I used one for years.
7. Oh no, such a sad post to read. Am really sorry to hear and hopefully bass and amp find their way back to you soonest!
8. This cab is a little small for my liking.... 6x12, surely not enough speaker surface
9. +1, good pre! I would have bought it in an instant to match to my MB1200, but the VType I use currently is almost the same pre (as is the Alembic F-1X and BBE BmaxT et el), less the overdrive. Unless you fancy a partial trade Jacko, VType + 100 GBP to you, TBP to me?
10. I bought Johnny's Berg NV610. Absolute please to deal with, trustworthy and makes a nice cuppa! Would deal with him again in an instant without hesitation.
11. Gilian24, where are you based in NL? I live in the Hague and am interested (for a EURO price of course) in principle. Will PM you as well. rgds, Haz
12. I have a Gallien Krueger MB210, didn't expect it but I am really happy with it. And you can add a cab to achieve full 500 watts at 4ohms. Light as.. too
13. Cheers matey! Pleasure was all mine.

Joe just bought my QSC PLX1804, a real pleasure to deal with, prompt payment, says what he does and does what he says. Deal with him in full confidence!
15. Totally underrated basses. Had one before and it absolutely killed comparable Fenders. My advice, keep it, fit some Nordstrands and passive wiring and sorted!
16. Still no input from the seller....... says it all. We should all be happy the combined knowledge on the forum sorts the BS from the real 99.9% of the time. Any seller should welcome feedback on what he/she is selling from their peers.
17. I used to own a Mywatt 200, lightweight for a full valve amp and awesome, let me rephrase that AWESOMMMMMMMMEEEEE tone. Still a bit sorry I sold it.
18. I have a QSC PLX1804 (NEW VERSION) that I am hardly using. Quite like the idea of exchanging for a D class amp. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/172617-feeler-qsc-plx1804/page__hl__qsc__fromsearch__1
19. Ooooh, very nice indeed. I just acquired an NV610 so don't need this but someone will jump on it I'm sure. It took me ages to decide if I preferred the NV610 or NV412 and both are absolutely AWESOME!
20. This is one of those basses that just need to find the right home before they "settle down". Bump for truly one of the sexiest 6 string basses on the forum.
21. I so enjoy the forum, it keeps everybody honest. Dude, just provide all the details you can and the MM connaisseurs will give you all sorts of good info. Best case it will help validat asking price, worst case you will at least know what your bass is "really". As a newcomer on the forum it will certainly make you more "appealing" to deal with. Pre, transitional or EB, still a nice bass buddy. Used Stingrays for almost 20 years and even though I no longer own one, still think they're mighty sexy.
