2. 5 string is just a 4 with an extra thumb rest ..... it is in very good nick for it's age.
OMG and damn that Hamer looks absolutely beautiful. If only it were a 4 string. Have a lovely Hamer bump on me.
3. Hi, That is something worth considering indeed. The filter bases preamp is awesome wrt the tonal pallet you have, but I usually keep my EQ pretty much in one setting so it is just too much. Another plan is to make a fretless out of it. That would pretty much be an awesome thing as well. But, first of all let's see if I can get some interest to buy or trade. I would really want another Spector or a high quality Jazz derivative or even the mother of rock basses (not sure what that would be though ..).
You could retro fit a john east pre amp...... My ACG Harlot has one of those fitted, same number of knobs and twiddly bits yer honer.....Alan fitted it in my last Harlot and my new Harlot is having the same. The East pre amps are very good and more 'traditional' in terms of what we are used to (ie active bass treble and sweepable mid) Alans EQ's are an amazing bit of kit, it just does not suit all.....my brain is far to simple to gain the benefits of the filter based EQ's in the ACG's so the more standard John east circuit fitted the bill for me. Best of luck with the sale - Sure it wont take long Dave
4. Bumpage, new pics available
 5. CHEERS Jim! I feel a bit ambivalent about the ACG, love the looks and it plays well. But the EQ really is not what I am looking for after recording some and gigging it. I'm sure the ACG will find a proper home.... and if not I am going to do the unthinkable and replace the preamp with an Aguilar or have it defretted, because I think the EQ would work really well for fretless.
bump for Hazbeem, Fantastic bloke and the ACG used to be mine. Buy with him with 100% confidence. Good luck bro, Jim
6. No responses to keep me up there BUMP.
Ahh Thank you to be fair the 4x10 is the heaviest and the amp head , the horn and 2x10 are light, yep i spent alot of time and ebay/basschat watching to get this , and now im commited to a new rig every time i play this i love it , but my house and bank aint big enough to have the two. horn unit sold and the 2x10 is on hold till wednesday , i will get the trace again one day im sure but i think my new rig will take care if my needs.!!!!
9. I believe I know exactly what's going on. Northern Europe beckons I think........ cryptic enough?
You all have to wait and see... It's Roscoe flavoured and has 6 strings though
10. Hi fellow Bass Chatters, I have 2 Spector NS-6XL basses, you know the handmade in NY 6 string mega basses If I am realistic, I only need 1. So, my question of course is, would anybody be interested in buying my 2002 Quilt Maple Top NS6XL? This is the older of the 2 I have. Serial number 0017. Pricing on these is quite difficult, they are incredibly expensive new. If I look at similar basses and their 2nd hand prices I would say the bass should fetch around £1950-2000. I am pretty firm on the price and I will only sell for the right price. Trades are possible, I find myself getting back into 5 stringers as well. 6ers and 4rs I have a plenty. I would consider a (partial) trade against: Spector NS-5XL, even EURO XL, Musicman Stingray Classic 5, FBass BN5 and maybe something I can't think of right now. No Fenders please, they bore me. Bass is in the Netherlands, but I am in the UK (London area) regularly.
 11. Fair comment Shep, sometimes it's the little things that count. And for a fact I know that a Spitfire has a complete different character then any Roscoe, although the neck on my Rumour is lightning fast. The RIM is just dead sexy though......., if only I was Mr. Loads O' Money!!!! Good luck with selling both Shep, no way will you be stuck with them. The price is good on both and although must of us mortals (before I had my Spector 6s I sure as hell was) are a bit scared of 6 strings, I am pretty confident the right buyer will pop up sooner or later. Haz
I think it's about what just 'works'. The RIM and GB are stunning and very different. I'm just finding I love the Roscoe Bart tone and the neck on my Century standard (and other Roscoe 6's) I've played are the most comfy I've played. If the GB and/or RIM don't sell, then I'll not be bothered. They are stunning instruments that will last a life time. Shep
12. Wow, really lovely example of a sixer. I have played Roscoes and although they make good basses I can't see why you would sell the RIM or GB in favour of a Roscoe.
 13. OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH, very nice. Would match my 2 NS6-XLs very nicely. What bottom price or what trade material are you looking for??? PM me? Cheers, Haz

 16. Bump bump bump bump it up!
 17. My name is Harry and I live in the Netherlands. So, how the hell do you end up on Basschat you might ask.....?? Well, that is mostly because I think it is a cool forum , but also because I am both Dutch and English. My Dad is from the lovely town of St. Albans (we have a Cathedral even ) and my mum is from Amsterdam. It was the 70's.... love in the air blah blah. I have lived in the UK in my younger years and how now been living over here for over 25. Still have family and friends as well as business interests down in the UK, so am over there quite often. Now about the important stuff: I have been playing the bass for over 20 years now and still play in bands. I am in Sales and Recruitment during the day and like to play the rock star at night and in weekends... Over the years I can honestly say that I have had too much gear. But hey, you know how we bassplayers are.... Started on a Squier, moved to an Ibanez, then a aluminium necked Kramer (oh dear), then bought my first real bass.... a Musicman Stingray. Used that for about 15 years until I started making some money. .....and that's when it all went horribly wrong: over the last 7 or 8 years I have bought and sold Musicmans, Fenders, Statii, Warwicks, a Lakland, a Hawes, Lulls, Spectors, several obscure boutique basses and probably some bassed I can't even remember. Thankfully I am getting a bit older and wiser, so have been able to slow down a bit I currently only own a Spector NS-6XL, a Musicman Stingray 5 (for sale) a Lull PJ5 and a Lull M5V Not too bad After having and trying many amps/cabs/makes I am very happy in using GK Neo cabs (2x12 and 1x12) and a Genz Benz Streamliner 900. Also have a GK MB210. Big FX user, which I use a lot on stage (love Distortion/OD). And I do all my own maintenance on my instruments/amps/effects so I have become very handy with a soldering Iron and Allen key. Well, that's it from me for now. Nice to be a part of Basschat!

 20. Hi Dunk. Yes indeed. Am showing my English side here (fyi, my Dad is English, Mum is Dutch and I have lived in both countries) Thanks for the BUMP!
Harry from The Hague? I can highly recommend this guy. Bought a cab and case from him. Anyway, have a bump from me.
21. I clearly need to make some better pictures, wipe the body down and make them in daylight. Could you perhaps give me an indication of when you saw this bass as it will give me a better idea what year it was built....... I bought the bass in the UK though, so it must have gone back to the UK from NL.
I remember this bass - about the time that this went out to the Netherlands, Bernie had also just completed a matt black version with Blue LEDs - it looked absolutely awesome. I remember seeing this bass (the one for sale) and thought how great it looked. Pics do not do it justice whatsoever!
22. That is a thing of beauty...... afraid the budget won't stretch at the moment, but I'm sure someone will have this beauty.
 23. Hi Shep, thanks for the welcome. I will definitely introduce myself soonest. I bought the bass a few years, I just fell for the Blackness of the thing, but I don't recall a Geoff Putnar though. For the life of me can't remember who I did buy it off of, but as there were only a few made it might be that one. rgds, Haz
