These are gorgeous! Very very nice.

Slower, but still open. On the Julia comments, she does not appeal to me. Her technique is good, and her timing is fine. But it just isn’t exciting and her feel does not appeal to me. Now this “Julia Plays Groove” lady on the Youtube is another matter, she improves every time she posts a video and can play with a lazy feel as well as on the dot.

Gosh.... this virus will take anyone it can. RIP sir.

I will be building a body for a fretless Status neck I have. It will take a while given the current viral climate, but the least I could do is do some sketching on what it will look like. Swamp ash, single pickup is what I will be doing. I like designing my own body shapes, generally going something more modern than classic. But since the neck is a Status (S2 shape) I am going for something that is a little Status but with a twist. What do you think of this shape? I am liking it.

It’s all in the fingers.... 😂

From the Dingwall website: "Leland Sklar turned us on to small frets. We use a size that is normally used on banjos. The small frets intonate very precisely, feel sleek and have a warmer, woodier tone. For the player with finesse, who is looking for the ultimate in playability, we also offer Mandolin frets. Necks fretted with mando frets sound even more woody and natural. Fret noise is almost non-existent. Playability takes the term effortless to a new level. Players with a light to medium touch can expect 5-10 years before replacement is necessary." I used to have a bass with mando frets, to be frank it played and sounded much the same as my other basses. Your fingers create much of the toneand they remain the same. It certainly was “quieter” re fret noise, but not that that really matters in a band setting. If you do not record much, don’t bother is my advice. If you have a hard playing style, don’t bother. If you just want to do it...... it is your bass. You should be able to fit it to a pre slotted neck without issue.

Tru-oil would also my choice, you potentially could use Danish oil or others too. Thin coats and patience. Nitro-Cellulose clear coat (very thinly applied) may also be another option.

EXACTLY! I have a few basses that are not beautiful, they play beautifully. Much more important, but there is no denying that gold hardware often does not look quite right..... well at least in my eyes.

Only for Essex girls innit?

White and Gold should be disallowed ..... that is all.

The Daily Mail a source of dribble? Surely not .... -

Hi all, time for some spring cleaning. Up for grabs is my Source Audio C4. A great Synth pedal that has some very cool features, but I am finding I mainly use my Future Impact (as I can also control it via Controller/Keyboard). Comes in the box, with the cables and adapter etc. In very good condition, I can hardly see any signs of use. Price includes tracked shipping in Europe (and UK ), looking at 2nd hand prices I think this is very fair. Looking to generate some cash to fund other purchases, so not really interested in a trade. Unless it is a Novation Bass station, Moog Taurus or a 49 key polyphonic synth, I might consider trades in that arena.

Is this the single most pointless piece of guitar or bass gear ever?

I must admit I never ever knew I had this problem.... now I know I must buy this. Not really..... -

Well that rules out any Gibsons then -
Don’t be so ready to disregard it, I was very apprehensive when I got my 800 but it works remarkably well and is very musical.

Gibson just getting weirder and weirder.

I was not on the fence. But if I was I would hope it had not been built by Gibson
