  1. On hold pending trade
  2. Well I like yellow cheese, lego, bulldozers....bass amps not so much, although the Red on the MB Marcus also looks cheap. The colour schemes and visual design is more my gripe with MB. They are however great sounding amps, no doubt about it.
  3. Indeed, although 4.7kg isn’t that heavy for a 5. Only .2 kg more than my other 5 and lighter than my 4 string Ray (amazingly). All are too heavy for my back though so in time all will have to go.
  4. If you want high frequencies go buy a guitar I say 🤪
  5. My BB800 is going nowhere:)
  6. Great sounding amps, but WHY do they insist on the childlike colour schemes..... beyond me.
  7. I am gutted ....
  8. Update: bought a light bass recently and need to recoup part of the cost. Drop to £925 + shipping. No longer looking for trades. With great regret I am putting up my BBP35. I only recently bought this from @Al Krow of this parish and I can honestly say it is the best passive bass I have played in a long time. Unfortunately I have developed quite bad back issues (well I have noticed them) in the last few months and have been undergoing physiotherapy and other stuff to sort my back out. Good news, it is much better thankfully, bad news is that 4kg is about the maximum weight I can stand for longer period of time. My doctor is strongly urging me to go “light”. At 4.7 kg to my regret this bass is just too heavy. Please see original advert below with all details and specs, I hope you are okay with me using the pics @Al Krow. The condition is exactly the same, only minimal signs of use. Looking to get back what I paid at 995 quid, plus shipping. Am willing to consider trades for low weight 5 strings. Will be in London on the 17th and can take bass with me if shipping is not what you want. SIGH.......
  9. Moon, Ahmet and Diva all live happy lives
  10. Dweezil Zappa - Hot Rats 50. Went yesterday, he still has the same “young” band as 2 years ago when I last saw him. WOW is all I can say, he truly honours his Dad’s legacy. I took my brother in law who had seen Frank a few times, and is the biggest fan. He agreed with me that this was right up there.
  11. This can only be a most excellent bass. Glwts!
  12. GK is more aggressive, more pronounced high mids, and “glassy” top. Mesa is rounder or warmer, more lows and low mids. Both I happen to like, but with Mesa I generally cut Lows a little bit, GK I cut highs quite a bit.
  13. Rather a different tonal character between the Mesa and GK preamp approach though.
  14. Agreed, the BB4 line (the II and III) punches far beyond it’s weight and for a II 120 is extremely fair.
  15. Interesting comments and input folks. Appreciated. I think the consensus is that if the fix is proper a loss of 40-50% is still to be expected if not you walk away (or make it a headless ...).
  16. Wow, rare indeed to see a matching headstock. Lovely.
  17. After having discussions with a potential seller I wanted to get your views on this. Whilst a headstock repair (a properly executed one) does not impact stability of the neck it does impact resale value of the instrument. But by how much? What does BC think?
  18. Apologies for the doodle... but this shows what I mean
  19. 2 strips of cloth. Slide under each side then cross the strips and pull?
  20. Or if you want to spend cash... https://www.thomann.de/gb/allparts_knob_puller_tool.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6IjIiLCJsYW5ndWFnZSI6ImVuIn0%3D&glp=1
  21. Try 2 heavy picks. Slide tips under the knob, and then lift.
  22. Not a nice decision to have to make. But you will know best and need to listen to your mind and body. I have to admit that even my relatively easy gigging life (I never exceed 30-40 gigs a year and rarely play outside of the country) is sometimes very challenging to combine with work and famliy etc so I can imagine the toll doing this more often en more internationally would take. All the best and here's hoping you find balance!
  23. Very well done! I use an electric jigsaw, dremel and bevel router and think your’s are even neater. Proper job
