  1. Interesting thread, some comments more interesting than others. Bottom line to me is just how personal compression is (I firmly believe there is no RIGHT, but there are WRONGS when it comes to compression), that a well done DBX160 based comp is a great tool (my personal favourite, who needs a Urei :)..) and that sound engineers generally suck

I know who bought the Compiq recently
  5. One of my gigs is "Grunge Garden Presents" where we do tributes to bands we love (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, RATM and others). We did on outdoor festival on Saturday, it was a lovely location, great weather and great crowd so thought I'd just share a "snippet" made from iPhone recordings. Enjoy
  6. Beats me, great basses, great seller.
  7. Yep, cracking price for a very good jazz.
  8. Outdoor festival gig tomorrow, 27 degrees .... am so looking forward to it :)

  9. I love the look of this bass, very modern/classic. GLWTS!
  10. Hardly a build diary, but still good to just share. I found a little leftover hardwood and made a ramp for the Ray. Radiused and finished in lemon oil. Works!
  11. Adds nothing to what is already available really, a pedal made by the marketing department.
  12. There is no advantage at all to going series ..... at all. It would give you less volume due to the higher load.
  13. Sorry folks withdrawn ....
  14. Clearly great tone and technique, but playing this song this quickly does make it significantly less funky which is it's biggest asset.
  15. I fail to see the issue here
  16. This is a lot of amp for the money, very very good amps.
  17. Lovely!
  18. May I suggest the discussion turns to the bass not the bassist. The bassist can then be discussed in another thread if required, keeps confusion to a minimum.
  19. A Michael Tobias design. Great basses, GLWTS!
  20. Basic 350, I loved mine back in the day. Such a great sounding amp. "Red Face" ruled the stage back in the day!
