    Calluses

No Happy Jack on my finger tips, but indeed very leathery. Never ever get blisters.
  2. Okay, I’ll say it..... as awesome as the Helix LT is, I am starting to miss my Helix HX + pedals setup of old.

Are you just using the LT Haz?

I love mine but I've got pedals in the two loops. No way would it work for me without that but combined it's awesome. Required some serious real estate management of the board...!

Yep, and I find thast I am missing exactly that element, the HX acts as the pedal board control centre :)

  3. ALREADY SOLD! http://www.guitarsoundsystems.com/gss-1000w-sumo-guitar-bass-power-amp-c2x23791314 Selling (or trading) my Sumo 1000. Whilst it is a teriffic and mega compact power amp I find that I either use my old trusty Mesa or my FRFRs that have a built in power section. Too good to keep this sat in a corner doing not much. One little chip (very small), on the top, otherwise pretty much in perfect nick. Comes with the hard case, price includes shipping in Europe. Picture shows it sat on my Focus 112s, that are small cabs Will trade against a 500 watt (ish) D class head, maybe a good OD, just try me.
  4. Excellent basses, Prestige level Ibby.
  5. My (modded) Status Electro with Bogart siblings, a Blackstone 4, 5 and own creation (modded Blackstone) Thundergart 4.
  6. Bill Clements does this all the time, Google him.....
  7. I should have read the thread, saw you had mentioned it already. Just think how much air is in other pedals?
  8. The snap dragon together with the Chadwick folding DB are actually what prompted me I think. It is just that the shape and the scale of both are not what most of us (or guitardists) would be looking for. But what if you could take your normal P or J (or whatever) and turn it into a long scale full body equivalent? Travel on the tube, space in car etc would be better/easier. I have travelled with the neck detached before (stuffing it in a suitcase), which works but it became quite unwieldly. Hence the idea to have a gig bag (let's say 2 models: 1 for guitar and 1 for bass) that comes with an instrument conversion kit so you can fit your instrument in the bag. I think the time to fold and rebuild needs to be short, and that is where I think I have had a real epifany. Anyway, will let this run for a while whilst I am working on a prototype, generally a very slow affair given I have a busy enough job working, gigging and being a Dad, but we'll get there.
  9. Since I sold my FI recently (not sure if I will not buy one again.... ) I have no need for this at the mo. But this has gotten me really interesteded in the whole 3d design, slicer, printer thing. I quite often use a combination of elbow grease, moldable plastics and tooling to create bespoke parts (musical and non-musical). Perhaps I am going to get on the printer band-wagon and start designing and printing them. Thank you @GisserD for opening my eyes
  10. Cheapest 210 solution on the market
  11. The background: I am a tinkerer, and love spending time at home either customising my basses, or building FX pedals to give away as birthday present etc. Quite often ideas come to be in my dreams and the other day I woke up having had "one of those nights". Been playing around with the ideas/dreams and I may have stumbled on something that actually might be useful for more people than just myself. The vision: What if there was a system that quite easily transforms any bolt-on instrument into a collapseable/foldable instrument that you can assemble or re-assemble (including tuning) in mere minutes. Would that be of interest? I have a vision where you can buy a gigbag for the collapsed intstrument that comes with the required conversion kit. The disclaimer: just so we are clear, I am not offering anything to anybody at this stage nor am I making any promises to develop this further or commercial statements. It would be really interesting to get some input and commentary from the BC community on if such a system would be of interest. Thank you.
  12. Yes, I name them "bass"
  13. Well I hope that is the case, I get CTS just looking at it.
  14. No comments about the rather odd CLAW approach used by the player in the pic? Even the left hands looks odd... great technique.... I wish they would use models that can actually hold an instrument.
  15. Regardless, very very nice fretless.
  16. Love this!
  17. Patrick O'Hearn's bass playing on the Torture Never Stops! Most excellent.
  18. https://www.dweezilzappa.com/posts/1983868-good-news Gail Zappa, quite a piece of work in her own right, bizarre really what she did without telling Moon/Dweezil. Anway, they at least are speaking again thankfully.
  19. Baby Snakes.... essential Bickford/Zappa
  20. Zoot Allures another one of my favs....
  21. One of the more than a few lyrics I know by heart fully. Great song, great album.
  22. Yes, I have this on DVD. He really got good at the stop motion thing. Amazing.
  23. Try listening to the pulp in the charts, even more challenging 😂
  24. Coming clean, at 44 I am alas too young to have been able to see the great man live. My intro was through my brother in law (13 years my sr) when at 14 he decided I should listen to Bongo Fury. I had just graduated from “now this is what I call music” into Beatles and Hendrix and he felt I might appreciate it. The Muffin Man blew my teenybopper mind and it changed my life, literally. It was the moment I realised that music can touch you in the most deep/viceral way and it made me decide to pick up guitar, then bass. I have branched out into all types of music, from Grunge to Metal to Jazz, my record collection can most def be labelled eclectic. But it has one constant, one thin red line connecting it all ....... Zappa. A fan boy anecdote: When he died in ‘93 I was at uni, but worked in a pub part-time and was working an 8 hour shift “the day after”. Much to the dismay of most customers I played only Zappa that day, but I didn’t care. Zappa, THE Zappa was no more and he deserved a tribute. 😁
