  1. I’m also not under a self-emposed new gear embargo 😂
  2. Lots of people won’t mind the active only (I for instance own several active only basses as well as pure passives). Love the 18mm and I have Barts in most basses. It might persuade me to take on an SR this one....and price.... ah well, still a better deal than the average Fender and since I buy in Euro it should be a better forex.
  3. I’ll just drop this here.... https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/anb205_1p_01.html 18mm spacing me thinks...... £1800
  4. I am building a fuzz where the 9v DC is upped to 8kV, then passed through my mrs to generate a high pitched wailing sound. Don’t worry, it’s not the voltage that kills
  5. Wow, just about the perfect fretless 5.
  6. Do more gigs with my originals band, fewer with the tributes ...... if possible.
  7. So 2 12” FRFRs or a 12” FRFR plus a sub?
  8. Bassics A900 is another small but powerful power amp, The Quilter Bass Block is also great used as a power amp (bypass the pre).
  9. GSS Sumo 600 or 1000 if you want small light D class power amp only. Nothing wrong with the suggestions above, but if you want to keep using the TE the GSS route (there are other options, I just happen to own a Sumo) is a good route to take.
  10. 23 politicians who don’t suck (at playing bass)
  11. You forgot 25 best bass playing superheroes
  12. It is also (like most “best” lists) an absolute dog of a list..... I really shouldn’t have checked it.
  13. Agreed, whilst “best” I can understand to a point (people love to label / put in boxes) I do not see how having certain appendages or not would influence your prowess on an instrument.
  14. These! Absolutely bullet proof, best patch cables I have ever used.
  15. I’ve had more than a few of these over the years I have to admit, from beer throwing idiots (ruining pedal boards), to 2 band members fighting on stage (I know), to someone groping my now wife/then girlfriend and me stage diving on top of him knocking him out..... ah, those were the days Moral of the story, drink and drugs aren’t good for you.
  16. 1st thing I would suggest is to use this BC community to get your knowledge on DI/pre-post/mic-line level up. It really helps you if you know the basics and lots of folks are very willing to help. The LH manual says: DIRECT OUT - Use this electronically balanced XLR jack to route signal from the Model LH500 and LH1000 to a professional mixing console or as a tap to a main PA system via a mic input on the console. The signal output from this jack is low impedance (100 ohm) with an output level of approximately -30 to -20 dB. This indicates the DI is mic level. So will be percieved as “very soft” if the sound guy is expecting line level. So, maybe he needs to wake up. But, perhaps your DIrect out is just broken. In which case I would buy a DI (Behringer supposedly has a 20£ Radial clone that is quite good). FX loop out will be post EQ, pre EQ will be after a pedal board, beforegoing into the amp.
  17. Amazingly difficult to tell from silk colour alone, I think they might be LaBella Deep Talking Flats but would be very hesitant to put money on that claim.
  18. Utterly useless place.... tried, failed, now ignored.
  19. In all seriousness, a P has a low mid push that makes it sit well in almost any mix. Not very nice when played solo, but very useable in a band setting...... “easy” eq-ing. I think that is why they are often used. I quite like them, but always end up selling them when I buy them.
